Saw Nils at a very small venue at Brown University in Providence, RI around 75 I believe. He was bouncing all over on a mini trampoline. Rocked the house. Venue with just standing no seats was awesome!
BRUCE HAD ONE TALENT- kNOWING THAT THE SMALLISH MAN HE WOULD HIDE IN THE CORNER WAS WHAT he wanted to be!!!. MR GRIN IS A TRUE SAVANT, sTANDING HARP? ACCORDIAN? PIANO? OH YOU WANT MY TENDER VOICE THAT MATCHES MY STRAT? This is NOT one of Nils' best performances. The tempo is too fast. I don't know why an experienced musician like Lofgren chose to go down this brutal road. Just contemplate that he had played with Neil Young on numerous occasions. I'm so disappointed with this version of a beautiful song. I'm still true to Nils!❤️
@@kirkdonnelly6450 Aah, I see. Well, the best explanation I can think of, is that he felt that this large, internationally broadcast concert was his "big chance" of breaking the lull in his career. So, he played "fast and furious". It's well known that Nils went through hard times during this period, before he teamed up with E-street Band. His particular brand of music fell out of popularity, for some time. Those were the stupid late 1970's, when "New Wave" and synth-pop ruled the waves, I remember....
@Alan King Nils Lofgren is a fantastic musician, and almost my absolute favourite guitar player, but not this version. The one tune and performance which I like the most is "You're The Weight", from when he was young and played with Grin. Unfortunately the sound isn't fantastic, but the band performed at it's peak. ruclips.net/video/uS26vzLjhrk/видео.html
First time i saw him he opened for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at John Carroll University, Cleveland Ohio. Amazing, been a fan ever since !
this really deserves to be a much bigger classic
Springsteen wishes he wrote 1 song this cool
criminally underrated
Long Live KEITH.
Keep on rolling.
Saw this tour back then. Was outside in NJ. Went to see Mahogany Rush. Nils was cool. Marino was insane. Loved that time of music.
A most underated talent.
Always good to see some trying to enjoy experimenting their possibility.
That solo is pure 🔥
One of this best tributes ever!
saw him live at the troubadour 1977
Fantastic…I only saw once in Philadelphia…incredible show
The drummer is playing "Keith MOON don't go! Both entertaining to watch.

This is pure gold. Took me ten years to discover it.
Saw him a couple times in small venues in colleges around Rhode Island in early to mid 70s. Fell in love with his energy and of course guitar.
So you're 10 years and seven months old???

Soft Fun was far better than anything Bruce has ever done! Why you with him when you're better?
I always wondered this myself. Underrated.
