Doesn't the Gold Foil have a similar tone profile to the Dynosonics that came on DeArmond, Gretsch, and even Guild (?) semi hollows and hollow bodies? That bright, jangle, sound. I prefer it to the mud that I'm always trying to wade out of these days. I love the clarity that Stowell gets here. I think the setup, sonically, actually fits the intricacies of his playing perfectly because you can hear every choice clearly. I hope he bought your guitar!
Thanks and yes there are similarities to Dynas. The Gold Foils tend to have a little more bottom end though. Certainly not muddy but there is a little extra down low.
Thanks for your kind words. Barry does indeed make nice guitars. Let me know if you’d like to have my pdf material that I use for workshops and online lessons.
@@johnstowell6240 John, where can I get the pdf's that you referenced. You are one of my favorite guitarist and I've learnt a lot listening to you play.
If you send me your email, I’m happy to get my pdf materials to you. The best way to reach me is at: jfstowell@earthlink.net. Thanks for your kind words.
Wow! WOW! John Stowell and the Grey Mendocino: a match made in Heaven... 👏
I would buy a ticket to see this guy play.
His planing, dang off the charts!! The Mendocino tone = outstanding
Thanks Derek!
Beautiful playing.
John is always amazing on any instrument! Still, the Grez is very cool -- I dig it!
Fantastic
