I own four Lilienthal (pronounced with T sound, not a TH sound, as I was corrected by German speakers) I have no issues, they are very well made. Many people have tried to box them in as a fashion watch. They are not, one doesn't have to spend thousands to have a smart good looking watch that tells time more accurately than any mechanical watch.
The pronunciation is actually more like "Lee-lien-tal" with the "t" sound of the "th" as was pointed out correctly before. But in English I would think it's totally fine to pronounce it like you did. It's not necessary to try to pronounce it in German. It sounds a bit funny sometimes haha! But that's okay!
@@mrfinlay7516 I own 12 of these watches, all but two purchased second hand. I am a true lover of the brand. They have now introduced a new line featuring Japanese movement Miyota. Japanese movements are very fine, nothing wrong with them. I purchased the watches because of the award winning German unique design, and Swiss movement. For a guy like me with limited money, it is an opportunity to own something really especial even if they are not to everyone 's taste. The new line looks like any other line, I hope this was not a mistake for the maker.
I own two of these...the Blue/Orange and Red/Silver Huxleys both with mesh bands. They are beautifully designed and quality made, and they are two of the nicest watches in my collection. At less than $300 Canadian each, they are also quite affordable. And to hell with resale values, these are not for snobs, but normal people who enjoy a quality product.

I have a mesh bracelet on a DeTomoso, which is so comfortable! I think that they look great on the right watch. I think that a L-B is in my future. Thanks!
Just an update to my previous post. I now own four of the Huxley model watches but I have had to send two of them back for repair under warranty, One won't respond to a battery change, and the other, the minute is loose and flops around. Yet my el cheapo Chinese watches have been working for years with not a problem. I can't help but wonder about the quality control on this make of watch with two out of four needing repair. . I will report back how they handle my warranty repair claims, which is an important part of any companies true measure of worth.

@@spg5658 Okay thanks. Sometimes when they can get in the locked building door, it's left outside my apartment door. I agree. I have recently bought two of their watches, the automatic that is not at all accurate, being always several minutes in advance when i constantly wear it, but stops if I take it off before going to bed. I have wound it up to get it going but have had to shake it violently. Very annoyin. I have put it away because I now have one of their quartz numbers, which is very attractive but the black dial is impossible to read in artificial light. However, regarding your specific point, I have contacted them twice by e-mail but they never replied to my questions, even though a preliminary response states they gladly will. Incredible they don't reply to legitimate questions. In my last e-mail I told them off. I do like the minimalist design and the leather straps as well as the discounted prices, I must admit.
