Just wanted to give a tip that has helped me immensely as far as French braiding: just keep your hands closer to your scalp. Literally have your hands on your scalp; the closer your hands are to your head the tighter the braid will be
As a life long braider, that was so well done! Grey will give you loads of practice I’m sure over the years 💛
I think I need to get one of those doll’s heads to practice on! lol
Get Rich to practice on his new locks and he can do yours and Grey’s 😂
i guess I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good place to stream new series online?
@Gage Jayce Meh I'd suggest flixportal. just google for it :P -darren
@Darren Alexis thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it !!
With French plaits I weirdly find it much easier to not look in the mirror whilst I do them. I find it’s better to feel your way along without the distraction of watching your hands in the mirror !
I just wrote the same comment :D
Same! And even when I'm braiding my front hair, I have both my hands to the back, not to the side like Lily here did. I find it easier to braid backwards than sideways, don't know if it makes any sense 😂
The braids are perfect! I find it much easier to not look in the mirror when I do french braids & try to distract myself too. As you say, you know the logistics, I’m the same, just need to not overthink it!
Your hair honestly looks stunning braided Lily! It's so elegant. I have the same hair texture and can't braid for toffee either so often just twist the front pieces so that they almost look braided and put it in a low bun 🤷🏻♀️ xx
So excited for your loft renos! You have such good taste. 🤍 Lots of love from Germany!
I love how you hold up Grey’s clothes against your body like you’d like to wear them yourself. They are super cute!
Love your hair in braids. Suggestion for little Miss Grey maybe get her a cheap makeup brush set so she can do it with you
Your braiding skills are way beyond what I'm capable of doing on myself, I'm impressed. Grey gets bigger and more fun all the time and it's so sweet to see
Hi Lily! I think your french plait technique is fine and complements the shape of your head and features very nicely but would be easier on greasier hair (your hair looks very clean here), your current natural texture or damp hair. Then you could reach a bit further back and it would look tidier. (I have been French/Dutch braiding my own hair for 18 years, I have played around with textures quite a bit) Hope this helps because they look very nice on you!
Hey, you know what, I have a 3 year old daughter (who's obsessed with my make up as well and has destroyed countless lipsticks by jamming her fingers inside 😖) and a 3 month old daughter, I have a month of maternity leave left and I wear make up most days. Nothing fancy, and solely for myself, but I love it and I'm all for doing what makes up feel best ! You look radiant, at any rate 😍
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I applaud you. My son is 18 months and I find it impossible to put makeup on unless he is napping or in his cot...it’s something I really want to change as not feeling like my normal self 😔
@@charleneedwards9386 Hey, as mamas, we all do the best we can. If you haven't yet managed to carve that time out for you, dont beat yourself up, you will ! I try and integrate my kiddos in the little things I do for myself when they are around, often the little one is laying on my lap while my eldest sits next to me and pretend makes herself up, but sometimes she's with a book, or a puzzle... I'm sure you'll find your balance eventually. If it's a priority for you, though, like it is for me, you'll feel even better for doing it, and at 18 months, maybe he'll be happy staying in his cot with some books, or music or a few toys for 10 or 15 minutes in the morning 🙂 Take care !
Same here. I have almost 4 y.o and 8 months old and I do makeup every single day just to feel like old myself.
This cardigan suits you so well 💕😍💕
Love watching your everyday makeup!
Love your make up and your braids really suit you, even at the end of the day they looked cute and whispy!
Yre doing the braiding perfectly! Looks more modern when done a bit more roughly rather than too neat.
RE kids clothes- my stepson went from 2-3 this time last year to 4-5/5-6 now! Honestly eBay is a lifesaver, have a little look most days and bid on bundles- which are lifesavers for nursery/messy play/ garden clothes. I stock up on basics for any season when I see them ( T-shirt’s, trousers, pjs) and then either buy shorts for summer if needed or jumpers for winter! I’d also say, we don’t buy as many outfits as we used to, just buy what you need - maybe a week or 2 worth of clothes and just get loads of wear out of stuff!
Hi Lily, just starting the video and I notice that your hair is still a problem for you. I feel you, I have curly and freezy hair. Not easy! May be you could start a partnership with a hairdresser specializing in curly hair and do a video series where we follow the process of the hairdresser helping you to manage your hair. That would be super helpful for all the ladies with difficult hair. Have a great Sunday
Yes! I’ve recommended this also in Lily’s last video - I think it’s the way to go for her hair! It’ll look gorgeous in no time. x
Loved it! Gray is so good at climbing!
I love the makeup look! It’s so pretty and easy. I haven’t worn makeup since last year. Watching you made me tempted to put some on. 😅 really like the Fenty base on you, it looks great! xx
Omg Grey’s little feet when she was climbing was ADORABLE🥺
I love this makeup Lily. Do you know the name of the brush you use for your cream bronzer? Thanks xx
I love this sort of makeup look, so fresh and glowy!
I love your light, fresh makeup routine, its the way I like to do mine these days too! You should try the glossier stretch Concealer I think you'll love it, very light weight and buttery! 💞
Last year when COVID started, I watched a bunch of RUclips videos on how to French braid your own hair. After a bunch of practice, I've gotten quite good at it. Highly recommend keep practicing it!
Retired hairdresser here. And your braids were really great!
Missed your video this morning so watched this one again 😊
Something I learned is that a Dutch braid looks better than a French braid with textured hair. The concept is basically the same, but you braid under vs over. I’m fully inspired to braid my hair back now!
Love watching your everyday makeup, it’s so relatable ❤️
I feel like for the braids i have a couple of suggestions. when youre just on the couch watching telly just fiddle with your hair and braid it you dont need to tie it up but its a good stress free way to practice. Also once you have added a bit of hair in tighten the braid after each addition itll make the braid stay way longer and is a good way to make it tight. Also you can drop a strand if your arm gets sore or whatever the braid will hold it there. Good luck!! loving your longer videos at the moment its the highlight of my sunday evenings
And it does indeed look really nice. The makeup.
So glad you went out for lunch. I'm in a part of Canada where were still in lockdown and you can only do takeout. Grey is adorable
Your hair and make up look good!
the braids look great!! love you and anna using the same eyeshadow in your videos today
Hi Lily, love your video. Where do you get the climbing triagle from please? I'm looking for the same for my son. Thanks
I find it easier to Dutch braid on myself than it is to french (French goes over and Dutch goes under). My mum was awful at hair so I had to teach myself. I just googled how to braid your own hair and they were loads of videos. Also if you want one of the crown braids then you can do for example start the left at the top of your head and finish at the nape of your neck and then the right start at the nape of your neck and end at the top of your head and then pull the me both out and pin them ❤️
You've had a baby, came off the pill, and on top of all that, the stress of the lockdown, few! Give yourself a break Lily! Once the colour has grown out you will notice an amazing difference x
Your ring is sooo pretty! 😍🥰
Really love the hair Lily! You did a great job I think. I agree, Zara clothes are beautiful but I worry about their worker conditions, similar for H&M. I just don't want to support the exploitation... Does anyone know if they actually improved safety and pay after the Rana Plaza disaster (2013)? I remember seeing an article about the hidden notes that Zara workers were seeing into clothes to alert customers to their working conditions in 2017 too
Love your hair in braids x
Ah lily 😃 I’ve watched you for years and still love your videos. Just wanted to say you are such a stunning lady, and this makeup & hair on you is gorgeous. Love the mama content I’ve got 3 year old twin girls 😜 🤪
Lily, weird question but have you tried Dutch braids? They go the opposite way to French, instead of going over, you pull the hair under (google it haha) and I find it a lot tighter hold on my fine hair xx
My sister does them on me but I find them harder to do somehow! Well, on myself anyway. On others I think it’s easier x
I had a lot of breakage in my hair and it was very thin, i used to blow dry and straighten it all the time. I stopped using heat on it a year or two ago mainly because I grew it out and got lazy I could tie it up or put it in a bun. I let it air dry and occasionally just run the straighteners over the ends to tidy it up when I wear it down, and my hair has grown so much longer a thicker. I think heat is causing a lot of your breakage xx
love that hairstyle on you!
Love your early Sunday morning uploads, perfect for watching with my first coffee of the day. I can tell your hair is really getting you down about it really does look fine. I know you prefer it down but it’s really lovely up! My hair is similar, curly, different lengths - I have extensions which is just disguising the problem 😁 I really should do what your doing and give it a break and try to get it looking healthy. Problem is I’m nearly 40 so my hair is going to get grey and wiry soon anyway so may as well enjoy the mermaid hair while I can!
Love these h&m trousers!!! Bought them after your recommendation on insta and they are great :)
Ha yep I have your exact hair type. People say to me, ‘oh you always wear your hair the same, I’ve never seen if different’. And I’m always like: DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK ME JUST TO GET IT LOOKING LIKE THIS?! 😂😂
Hey Lily 🤗 lovely to see your everyday makeup routine 🥰 xx
Oooh - Try twist braids instead of French braids. I usually stop below/behind the ears or straight back to the back of my head and then bobby pin them down. This has been a life safer for my weird tussled/not curly hair texture.
YES! Lily vlogs are my fav.. Sending love from the NW side of the U.S!!!
I feel you, my hair type is very different (straight) and I have no idea how to do hairstyle s beyond putting it in ponytail.
Can’t believe Grey is almost two. The tantrums will be something (you cut my toast wrong) but it is amazing watching them piece together the world for themselves.
i know it is sunday because i can see lily 💛💛
Totally bought the foundation and concealer after seeing this! I need to feel good about myself 6months postpartum
I can’t braid, but I can French twist. So much easier.
Start with two pieces, twist, pick up more hair, twist, pick up more hair, twist, etc...
You should just buy her clothes off of vinted. Most second hand children’s clothes are in great condition because they wear it for such a short time. You can get most things for 1-2€!
Does it exists in UK? I use it in France for my baby girl, it's soooo useful and everything is so cheap and in good condition!
Loved this!
You are TOTALLY French braiding your hair!
I really like the simple make Up. Suits you so well. Grey's little feet 🥰 so cute.
Loved this 💕💕
French braids suit you!!
Your hair is super cute in the braids! I’m jealous of how thick it is. My daughter has super curly hair and I’m learning how to care for it. She gets so upset when it’s not how she wants. Mine is super fine and thin. It’s such an emotional thing! X
Loved this video !! I’m on the same boat with the short pieces in the front. I tried to bleach my hair at the salon and it end up just being a disaster, so I’m re growing my curls. I cannot braid my hair for the life of me I don’t matter how hard I try!!!!
Good morning everyone 🤗
Didn’t watch videos for you since a long time when i saw this video i felt as if you are a friend of mine and I miss you ❤️
Just a thought, maybe your eczema is triggered by products that you drip in repeatedly? Since not using a doe foot concealer made a difference, maybe try cutting out liquid eye shadow and lip products would help as well. Love u 💕
Love your everyday make up, I do it pretty much the same 😊
If you want to do a braid on yourself, my best advice is to not look at the mirror but just follow the sensations of your fingers... it sounds funky but somehow helps!
Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking but which size did you get in the H&M trousers? Their sizes seem so all over the place at the moment
I love HM kids, or like others suggest vinted. I sell all my babies clothes on vinted too as like you said babies don’t get a great time frame!
I totally get feeling wasteful about baby's clothes! I have a 1 1/2 month old and luckily I got plenty of hand-me-downs, hand knitted stuff from my mom and MIL, and I've been trying to buy stuff from second-hand baby stores a lot (there's plenty in IG where I live), which is cheaper and more sustainable, but obviously you have to be lucky to find exactly what you need in those stores😕
I had awful postpartum hair loss and I can’t say enough about vivscal. I have no idea if it’s available in the (UK) but I’d look into if I were you. It’s a supplement and a lot of people with aloepecia take it. I’ve read in some magazines that a lot of celebrities take it for longer and fuller hair. The only downside is that your body hair also grows quicker lol.
Lili i love your Videos so much :)
Your braids look great!! You are better than you think you are!
Lol 😂 this is the make up routine of a mum. At one point you would’ve have your products stocked up etc, and it’s sounds like you’re priorities have changed 😍 looking lovely and fresh! 💗
I think you did a good job with your braids. Maybe you can pull the links a bit here and there to make it look “messy” and done. Us curly girls have to embrace imperfection.
Just to set your expectations - our Costco wendy house took 2 adults about 2 days (and a lot of beers) to build 😂
Omg THANK YOU. We better get started then 😂
After years of practise I'm great at doing French braids on my hear but find it very difficult to braid other people's hair.
Makeup looks good
I get you re kids clothes, my two boys used to shred Zara clothes I never found they lasted well. With all the climbing, digging and stuff they get up to their clothes often get ripped or stained, it’s soul destroying that the wreck things that are a few weeks old. Primark and supermarkets clothes are a winner.
I have that Armani eyeshadow and I’m not that an but it doesn’t even show up on me even after applying a base.
You could rent grey’s clothing Rosanna falconer on ig mentioned she rents her kids clothes (some)
Durch braids are easier to do on myself - as you do it it gets tighter 🙂
The kids clothes thing was so hard to get out of when I turned into an adult - as a teenager I obviously needed all new clothes every summer so my two week holiday would be all brand new clothes and when I first became an adult I found it so hard to get out of that mind set until I realised that the only reason my Dad did this was because the previous years clothes didn’t fit me 😂
💗💗💗
Grey is better dressed than me 😂
This may or may not help and you may or may not have the time to try, but I taught myself how to braid my hair by using a Barbie doll. I was able to see what I was doing better and if you put the Barbie kind of in your lap, facing out, it somewhat mimics how your own hands would be working in your hair. Good luck on your hair journey, Lily! I have extremely curly hair that I don’t straighten, but it has its own challenges too, so I feel your pain.
Hi! Great video again 😊 Nothing to do with the video but ... I remember once you talked about what to offer to a new mum / new parents after the birth..and now I need to (re) watch this vidéo/insta .. can anyone help me there ?
That is literally me with the French braids! I was always so jealous and amazed by the girls in school who would sit and French braid their own hair. I know how to do it but I can’t do it on myself! 😭😂🤷🏼♀️
Indy brands for kids clothes are just way too expensive!
Good morning everyone!
How old is your daughter now?
Hey lily maybe you need the little skinny kids elastics for the braids
I’ve seen some people serious about braids just snip through them with nail scissors to remove them
Just be mindful with rompers as when you will want to start potty training those will be a nightmare
They are easy one item full outfit but not very practical
You and Anna can’t seem to upload without each other. What is up with that. Really disturbing
'disturbing'?? Blimey 🙄
Yeah that’s what I said. Love it or leave it I idiot
@@Elaine-ed1lm jesus, if you're disturbed by that then God help you!! Weirdo.
