Actually it is fair for christians to say that we (muslim) doesn't understand christianity, because it is their religion, they must be more knowledgeable than we muslim. Why would it be called a "word", unless it has something to do with communication? That's why I said that this "Word" must refer to God's eternal attribute of Speech. Some Christians agree with that interpretation, others are more reluctant to define it, if at all. Some will tell you that this "Word" refers to God's spirit. God breathed into the blessed virgin(as) His spirit. Muslims don't disagree with that. A spirit from God. So what does that mean? They are inclined to say that this means God's very own essence, or spirit, while the Islamic position is simply to view it as a soul that God created. Likewise, Jesus(as) is a word from God, which is an order; God's will is enforced: He speaks the word and the child emerges in the womb. "Be! And it is.." Referring to the fact that his(as) creation was unusual; without the need of sexual reproduction. Doesn't mean he's God, obviously, as God creates however He wills. If "the Word" refers to one of God's attributes, then now you have a beginninglessly eternal, intrinsically necessarily existent attribute of God ceasing to be just that, as it changes completely, and suddenly becomes intrinsically possible in existence and temporal. This too, is a logical absurdity, as God's attributes must exist, and whatever exists necessarily cannot be said to have emerged, whereas Jesus(as) is clearly a creature, since he had a beginning in time, and every aspect of his life was bound to space and time, and anyone familiar with this knows that such an existence cannot be said to be intrinsically necessary in existence. It means that an uncreated and therefor eternal and necessarily existent attribute of God becomes a creation. You can't be both created and uncreated simultaneously. So saying that the Word became flesh doesn't resolve the initial contradiction: it only adds to it. If they disagree with the interpretation of the Word being a divine attribute, but that it's something else entirely, such as God's spirit, then the problem remains, as now you have the Eternal entering into the created world, and becoming a temporal creature Himself. They could try to explain this by claiming that it's just some part of the Eternal that does this, but then their concept of God is reduced to like that of any other creature, as He's now composed of parts and portions, separated in space and time, which is rejected by intellectuals and scholars alike. Besides, they claim that Jesus is fully God, not a percentage out of a bigger unit, so they can't explain it anyway by saying that the Word means a part of God's essence. Another problem with this interpretation (of the Word being God's spirit) is that it's actually blasphemous in their beliefs to say that Jesus is the Holy Spirit. He's not the Father, nor the Spirit, but the Son, and they don't believe that the Holy Spirit became flesh and died for their sins: that's the function of the Son. So what is going on here? The man in the video immediately went to the idea of souls being immortal, which is a Greek idea that crept into their beliefs, like so many others. Souls are obviously not immortal. It is conceivable that God, who creates all souls, can just as well cause them to go to ruin. Only God has no ending, in Himself (meaning, intrinsically). Souls are not intrinsically immortal. They last for as long God wills them to last, but if He willed it, He could annihilate them just the same, as He alone is the Creator and Sustainer of all that exists, Exalted and with full power over His dominion. To claim that souls cannot perish is to claim that other than God Almighty are Eternal, which is blasphemous. There are many more problems, and more angles and arguments one can use to deconstruct their erroneous beliefs, but if they can't even explain (and they certainly cannot explain) the contradiction in believing that God is immortal and beginninglessly eternal, but then He somehow begins to exist +/- 2000 years ago, as a temporal creature, and subsequently dies on a cross (astaghfirullah), then perhaps they should just be honest and admit that their 'faith' is nothing but blind belief in what the sound mind rejects, instead of trying to argue over such matters; trying to convince people that all of this is somehow true and real. Nothing but imagining and conjecture, while in islam, none of this applies, and they're given the best alternative, without having to believe in the absurd, or what really is blasphemous in very essence (saying that God died), what an immense and criminal thing to say for someone who claims to be a believer in the divine. May Allah SWT guide them away from error, out of the fog of confusion, and into the light and truth that is islam, Allahuma Ameen. So this makes the physical body a new manifestation of God's attribute of Speech, which really introduces a monumental theological problem. I won't go into the many issues that now emerge, but suffice to say that they cannot say that a mere physical shell made of meat, blood and bones died for their sins. It's God who dies for their sins, according to them, not just some arrangement of temporal atoms.
Also, according to them, Jesus is the Word made flesh, and this "Word" is not God's spirit (whatever that may mean). So what embodies the physical human form? God's Word. So ask them what, exactly, they mean by "the Word"? It's difficult to get a clear-cut response to this question, let alone that random Christians agree on its meaning. Why would it be called a "word", unless it has something to do with communication? That's why I said that this "Word" must refer to God's eternal attribute of Speech. Some Christians agree with that interpretation, others are more reluctant to define it, if at all. Some will tell you that this "Word" refers to God's spirit. God breathed into the blessed virgin(as) His spirit. Muslims don't disagree with that. A spirit from God. So what does that mean? They are inclined to say that this means God's very own essence, or spirit, while the Islamic position is simply to view it as a soul that God created. Likewise, Jesus(as) is a word from God, which is an order; God's will is enforced: He speaks the word and the child emerges in the womb. "Be! And it is.." Referring to the fact that his(as) creation was unusual; without the need of sexual reproduction. Doesn't mean he's God, obviously, as God creates however He wills.
If "the Word" refers to one of God's attributes, then now you have a beginninglessly eternal, intrinsically necessarily existent attribute of God ceasing to be just that, as it changes completely, and suddenly becomes intrinsically possible in existence and temporal. This too, is a logical absurdity, as God's attributes must exist, and whatever exists necessarily cannot be said to have emerged, whereas Jesus(as) is clearly a creature, since he had a beginning in time, and every aspect of his life was bound to space and time, and anyone familiar with this knows that such an existence cannot be said to be intrinsically necessary in existence. It means that an uncreated and therefor eternal and necessarily existent attribute of God becomes a creation. You can't be both created and uncreated simultaneously. So saying that the Word became flesh doesn't resolve the initial contradiction: it only adds to it.
If they disagree with the interpretation of the Word being a divine attribute, but that it's something else entirely, such as God's spirit, then the problem remains, as now you have the Eternal entering into the created world, and becoming a temporal creature Himself. They could try to explain this by claiming that it's just some part of the Eternal that does this, but then their concept of God is reduced to like that of any other creature, as He's now composed of parts and portions, separated in space and time, which is rejected by intellectuals and scholars alike. Besides, they claim that Jesus is fully God, not a percentage out of a bigger unit, so they can't explain it anyway by saying that the Word means a part of God's essence.
Another problem with this interpretation (of the Word being God's spirit) is that it's actually blasphemous in their beliefs to say that Jesus is the Holy Spirit. He's not the Father, nor the Spirit, but the Son, and they don't believe that the Holy Spirit became flesh and died for their sins: that's the function of the Son.
So what is going on here? The man in the video immediately went to the idea of souls being immortal, which is a Greek idea that crept into their beliefs, like so many others. Souls are obviously not immortal. It is conceivable that God, who creates all souls, can just as well cause them to go to ruin. Only God has no ending, in Himself (meaning, intrinsically). Souls are not intrinsically immortal. They last for as long God wills them to last, but if He willed it, He could annihilate them just the same, as He alone is the Creator and Sustainer of all that exists, Exalted and with full power over His dominion. To claim that souls cannot perish is to claim that other than God Almighty are Eternal, which is blasphemous.
There are many more problems, and more angles and arguments one can use to deconstruct their erroneous beliefs, but if they can't even explain (and they certainly cannot explain) the contradiction in believing that God is immortal and beginninglessly eternal, but then He somehow begins to exist +/- 2000 years ago, as a temporal creature, and subsequently dies on a cross (astaghfirullah), then perhaps they should just be honest and admit that their 'faith' is nothing but blind belief in what the sound mind rejects, instead of trying to argue over such matters; trying to convince people that all of this is somehow true and real. Nothing but imagining and conjecture, while in islam, none of this applies, and they're given the best alternative, without having to believe in the absurd, or what really is blasphemous in very essence (saying that God died), what an immense and criminal thing to say for someone who claims to be a believer in the divine. May Allah SWT guide them away from error, out of the fog of confusion, and into the light and truth that is islam, Allahuma Ameen. A. On this point Yeshua was the Torah, the divine instructions given to Mo-she at Mt. Sinai in Arabia post Exodus. The Living Word of Life and instruction.
Yeshua is also related to as the Bread of Life. Why? He did it to teach that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word (torah/instructions) that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Deut 8:3 and in the Renewed Covenant Mathew 4:4. (that means both covenant books) There are many Hebraisms that many within the Christianity do not understand as many have rejected the Torah and cannot correlate the Ancient and Renewed Covenants. Yeshua is ascribed to as the door, the shepherd, the light, a hen, a thief in the night, etc.

See here in verse 15, the preceding verse: "15 which God will bring about in his own time-God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see.
