Como o "Jetpack" dos Ônibus Espaciais funcionava?

O Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) é uma mochila com propulsão a nitrogênio que foi usada em 3 missões espaciais diferentes: a STS-41B, STS-41C e STS-51A. Além de ajudar na recuperação de 2 satélites defeituosos, a "jetpack" dos ônibus espaciais também foi a responsável por uma das fotos mais marcantes do século XX. Bruce McCandless foi fotografado a 100 metros de seus colegas durante a missão STS-41B.
