I saw a lot of power line techs working in all weather conditions. Most people don't really know them or what they do. They work with hazardous equipment and drive on dangerous dark icy roads. No recognition needed. They just do the work towing the company line. Companies like ATCO credit them when advertising or making a TV appearance but really they just saw them as hourly workers. When the companies shareholders got fed up with poor management and reckless spending many of those workers got laid off. Some had many years of experience. Thanks ATCO. Thanks Alberta.

I used to have a 14 feet cube truck that i would fill up every 2 days and it used to cost me 130$ each time to work on service calls 24/7 and 7 days a week. What would it cost me today with the price of gas?? 240$ a refill and guess who would pay for this?? Customers which i would have to double my fare on each service calls!!! 😞 In my truck i had all my tools, welding machine, numerous parts and usually drove 250 to 300 KM a day from site to site. Now they want us to drive EV's, but from the start i was telling everyone let's see how long before government and politicians brings a new tax for millage and blame it on extra road work needed etc LOL
I drive a chevy express 2500 because in this economy, just incase something happens to my ol lady, i need a dry, warm place to sleep and my van will do the job. They can call me anything they want, but I’m not the one flying around in personal jets
