Great topic, Abby! Doing my color analysis and finding out that I am a True/Cool Winter was one of my best little investments. It made a direct impact on my wardrobe, confidence, ease of getting myself together, and it helped me just simply stop throwing money down the drain on clothes and makeup that do not flatter. I went in for a second session with my favorite or most questionable clothing items, and was able to understand why something just did or did not work for me even if I love the style... and how to make borderline items work.
Yes! It used to take me so long to get out the door, trying to make my face fit Autumn and Winter colors with makeup! I really love Fall colors. Thankfully, I found out there ARE Spring versions of the Olives, Oranges and Yellows I love so much! And I can just throw something on and go, now…maybe do a little makeup if I feel like it. ❤🌼🌿
I had an in person analysis with John Kitchener earlier this month - it was such a great experience! I am closest to what some systems call a Soft Winter. It is so hard to find cool toned makeup - especially eyeshadow. Browns and “pinks” like CT Pillow Talk have always turned orange on me. Would LOVE to see recommendations for cool toned makeup for summers and winters. Loved this video!
Thanks for sharing! This sounds amazing and don't worry- I am on the hunt for Cool Toned Makeup and will definitely share what I come up with. This will be fun! xoxo
This was really an enjoyable video - thank you. Getting your colors done is not only fun, but really leads you to colors that are complementary…you’re so right about that. It’s one of the reasons that I avoid peach blush and lip colors, which go orange on me and makes me look sallow. Pinks, reds, berries - anything that has a blue undertone works for me. It’s been some time since I’ve had my colors done, but a quick survey of my closet clearly shows that the influence has stuck with me. My favorite color is vibrant blue, but anything with a blue or black mixed into the dye works. Thank you again!
It really was so much fun and I am so glad to hear that it STUCK! I think you really do gravitate towards the colors that look best on you but I also have some NEW colors I want to try and incorporate into my closet. I too love pinks, reds, berries with the blue undertone. I swear my teeth look blech in the orangy tones. LOL! THANK YOU for inspiring me. xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite. Yes! I had mine done elsewhere, but it definitely stuck. It has made me so much more confident! I love color analysis, because it truly proves that beauty is for everybody! I used to think my skin was too yellow or too pale. No, it was my clothes that were wrong, not my face!
I found Merriam Style here on youtube and did an online color analysis done with her. It was so detailed and spot on! My makeup, clothing, and hair color now flatter my very rare cool olive tone. I highly recommend!
Hi Abby, really enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing. The colours all looked great on you! I also wanted to say don’t stop wearing black if you like it - I think the contrast of a black top against blonde hair can look so striking! Also, I have to say, Portland is my favourite place ever! Hi from Manchester, UK - new subscriber here 😊❤
I always thought I was an Autumn (brown eyes and (naturally medium) brown hair. I was stunned to discover that I am a summer. I never wore pink ever! I struggle buying clothes but am getting better! I take my color fan with me and that has made a big difference. I bought the House of Colour makeup and have gotten so many compliments. I definitely think the analysis was worth the money.
@@F.sweet1. It varies, from $35 for an online analysis into the thousands. I saw someone online who said she paid about $250 at House of Color. Not bad for in-person analysis from a reputable company!
I had my colors done years ago and I do gravitate to the colors I can wear. I am a summer too! (Twinning again) I never used bronzer in my 20's and 30's because I knew it did not look good on me. When I started watching content creators on you tube everybody it seemed was using it so I started doing it. Needless to say the days I skip it my makeup looks better! Thank you for sharing this with us and reminding us to "stick with what you know!" lol Sending love and hugs!!
YAY! I am so glad we are SUMMER TWINS!! AND yes- one of the big lessons is that I learned to trust what I already knew- colors that look good on me - and those I knew did not but WANTED to look good. LOL! AND the bronzer thing is so interesting because the only bronzers I really love are the 'cool' toned ones. BUT I do know what I feel 'fresher' looking when I don't wear it. Sending love and hugs!! xoxo
This seems like both fun and practical! Wish I had this done many years ago. Would have made shopping so much easier (and saved $). You look so pretty! Complexion is amazing.
Glad it was helpful! And the funny thing is that my mom did have a Color Me Beautiful party back in the day... my sisters and I were teenagers. She was having a neighborhood party and made us do it too. I recall being maybe a WINTER- I remember that I was supposed to wear jewel tones!! LOL! BUT I think this was a much more detailed experience. THANK YOU!! xoxo
Loved this. I haven’t had a full colour analysis, but when someone with the training told me I was an autumn, I was so disappointed. I desperately want to be a winter. 😂
LOL! I think it is so funny because I think we all want to be a WINTER. I was just happy to be the sister palette of SUMMER. BUT Autumn is a beautiful palette. MY sister is an Autumn and she just looks so good in all of those colors! xoxo
I love Autumn! I tried to fit myself into it, for so long. Thankfully, I’m a Spring, which is quite similar. The colors are basically the same…just lighter. Are there versions of some of the colors you like in your season?
@@AbbyBlissWhite. I wanted to be Autumn! All those beautiful Fall colors! Thankfully, I can wear light olive, lighter oranges, yellows and browns. Just not dark mustard, rust, pumpkin orange and darker, and dark olive. Sadly, I’ve had to trade harvest moon gold for sunny yellow, but I do love the leafy greens I never found in Autumn. That was a nice surprise!
So great I found you! I had my colors done with House of Colours last fall and I’m a Cool Summer too! It’s been a game changer for sure. I’d love to see any ideas for makeup and clothing that you discover. Found you when looking for reviews on Chantecaille experiences with someone more my age 😊. I recently had a terrible issue with allergies around my eyes, looked for non fragrance makeup (along with clean ingredients) and was drawn to Chantecaille. Thank you!! And you look fabulous - the sweater color is gorgeous!

Abby, this video and your experience at House of Colours is so interesting to me. I love the idea of figuring out what season you are and it seems like you already gravitated towards your Wow colors and found some new ones. I would love to have this done it seems not only useful but a lot of fun! I look forward to your makeup video using your colors. Thank you for sharing your experience and going into great detail the process and colors. 😊❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! It was truly such a fun experience and super informative. Definitely having fun with focusing on these WOW colors. xoxo
Loved this video Abby! You did such a great job detailing all of the information! You reminded me of my experience with House of Color 😊. Those summer tones really look great on you. The cornflower blue and sea green are amazing! The blues and grays look wonderful against your skin! I think that it will help you moving forward with making expensive decision regarding your wardrobe, makeup and jewelry. Xoxo 😘 Deb
Oh thank you! I appreciate you nudging me to do this. It was so much fun and informative. AND I now am equipped with the knowledge to make smarter choices. I am dying to find something in that Sea Green and Cornflower Blue. Thank you for watching and for all your support. You are the best! xoxo
Hi Abby. I thought the whole "colour analysis" thing wasn't real. But I trust you so I'm going to watch your video and see for myself. I'll comment some more after watching. Peace, Cal. BTW ... I subscribed to your channel as well as Mandy's. 🙂
LOL! Thank you Cal! Welcome. Welcome. This is just a tool to help make smarter decisions- especially with makeup and such. I had a great time with my color analyst and it was a fun experience. YAY! So glad you are a subscriber. MORE fragrance reviews are coming up! xoxo
Your “WOW” colors were such fun to see. HOC did a good job! Finding out my best colors was exciting! It really helps me resist those trendy colors. I remember the recent Slate trend (blue/gray green) really appealed to me. I love blue greens! Now I am glad I didn’t go all out..I’m bright, not muted. I might still get a handbag in slate…so pretty! I bet you would wear slate well.
It seems we are color twins. This is the palette that I gravitate to…so great. Also, long time ago I became a silver person…so that also tracks. I seem to have intuitively figured out my colors and my wardrobe generally reflects that. Thank you for sharing your experience❤ Hope you are doing well…and looking forward to detox soon!
I stumbled across your channel around Christmas time and was fascinated by this video! I booked a double appointment for my mom and I to get our colors done as a birthday gift for her! She recently has let her hair go grey which has shifted her color preferences for clothes, we are so excited for the appointment!!! Thanks to you for sharing your experience and this service!
Yay Abby! So glad you did your color analysis! I love mine too! I would love to see a video on how you went through closet and organized it! That is my next challenge! ❤️
THank YOU for the nudge, Randi!! It was hugely helpful and I am sorry we are not both Springs!! That is a great idea. I have purged and now I am organizing - so I can definitely do a video as I dive into this process. xoxo
Loved this it was super fun. I hope Mandy does her colors too. Supposedly I am a winter, but I think people are more complex and so that is a guide. There are some wow colors for me that are not under winter. People will stop and compliment some of those every time I wear them. There are yellows under winter as well and I look like I have jaundice in those. Overall I am definitely a winter though. You love that purple Chanel eyeliner and it looks a bit like the smoke purple. Check out the Kate Spade earrings called Precious Pansy Drop Earrings. They’re similar to the ones you have, but they’re pearl and rose gold. You can send me all your gold jewelry…lol!
Yep! I agree. This is just a fun guide to help make smarter choices but no hard and fast rules. Color is FUN and to be explored. Personally, I think WINTER is the best palette. LOL! AND I had to laugh because I loved Purple Chalk eyeliner forever and was so sad when it disappeared. AND it is funny because I bought another pair of my favorite Kate Spade in Rose Gold but they broke already. UGH! I am selling a few things on the Real Real!! xoxo
Thank you for explaining the process. When I was in my late 20s I had my colors analyzed and I too was a summer. Funny, because all my life I loved orange, brown, purple and bright fuchsia. I had an orange Camaro and a metallic brown Comaro. I had my colors done two years ago and I was told I was a light summer who shares many spring colors, and I should wear cool bright colors. So, now I just buy what I enjoy. I will say I definitely wear cool foundation, not an easy find on you tube. Chanel BR22 is a great match for me. Other cool foundations are often too yellow on me. I hope you present some cool toned makeup colors. I know you use the BR color range in Chanel. That is one of the reasons I follow you. 27:44
You should definitely wear what you LOVE! I actually love Orange and Pink together. Love that combo! BUT this was a really fun and informative process. AND yes- I just did a video using Cool-TONED SUmmer Makeup- I will link it here: ruclips.net/video/ssja-UOCdXI/видео.html AND honestly - The Chanel BR range is the best cool I have found because it is not OVERLY ROSY or OVERLY Neutral which can run a little grey on me. I will keep you posted on what I find as far as good cool toned foundations. xoxo
I’m a really not into bronzer. I’m about to declutter BOTH of them. CONTOUR, however work to sculpt the jawline or shorten a forehead. This also depends on one’s face shape and other features.
This looked like fun! But tbh a couple colours she said didn't work on you actually really did! Both yellows and a coral I think looked very nice on you. I understand the premise behind this but I disagree that its only based on undertones. I think we are also drawn to colours spiritually as each colour has a certain vibrational frequency. Colours can be very healing and will provide you with the frequency you are currently resonating. Your aura colour also has alot to do with the colours you are drawn to and for some reason it works even if technically not best for your undertones. Tbh if you are drawn to a certain colour just wear it and enjoy it! Thank you again for video. Namaste 🌹
Absolutely! This experience was a helpful tool but I also agree that color is special and you can wear what you want. So don't worry - my specialist even told me not to make hard and fast rules about color - but to use this as a guideline and have fun! Thank you for sharing. xoxo
@@newgangan4754 i have several both in stock and powder. My super favorite in powder is Marc Jacobs now discontinued. It is such a huge pan that it will take me forever to finish it. It was my backup up. Cream favorites Charlotte Tillbury in 1 fair pale and rare beauty in Happy Sol. These are my daily go to bronzers.
You actually did look slightly better in some of the winter colors... especially the pinks and greens. I know me, I would be wearing some of those winter colors! 😂❤
Hey Abby. OK. I watched the whole video. I don't know if it's the power of your persuasion, or if it's real, but it sure seemed real. It really seemed to make a difference. I'm kind of stunned. Well done and thank you. Cal.
Aww... thank you for watching the whole thing. This was a really fun experience and as I said, you don't have to follow to a T, but it does help with some guidelines. AND it was kind of amazing - seeing the way colors - do their magic! xoxo
I had this done years ago with the Color Me Beautiful company. I was designated an Autumn. I’m definitely drawn to the warm colors but wonder if I can go from an Autumn to a Spring over time.
YAY! My mom had one of those Color Me Beautiful parties back in the day but I could not remember what I was... I almost want to say WINTER! AND I do think that you can blur between the Autumn and Spring colors as long as they are in the WARM tones. Or that is what I am hoping since I love some of WINTER colors as well. LOL! It is definitely a fun experience. xoxo
Hi Abby very interesting. I definitely need to get this done some day… i definitely not summer. Only a few of your colors, was colours that i gravitate to. Coral red maybe little warmer, my colour. I have dress in that colour, and it looks amazing. And my favorite red lipstick, which just look so great on me, is Coral red-Chanel First light. Its matte. Now i had dress in this darker red , which i saw in your colours, no wonder that i wasnt wearing, its not my colour. And as much i love white gold jewellery it doesnt look as good , as yellow or rose gold. Looking forward to see your makeup choices. Have a blessed day🙏🧡
Thank you so much! This was a really fun experience and yep- you sort of gravitate to the colors that look best on you automatically. I hope you have an amazing day. xoxo
I went to house of colour here in UK. Best investment I ever made. I am a Vibrant Autumn. I just love opening my closet and knowing everything in there is in my best colours. Everything either matches, coordinates or harmonises with everything else. Its so easy to make an outfit. My consultation was a gift from my 2 sisters for my 60th birthday. I literally went home and got rid of half my wardrobe to the charity shop. Its been loads of fun replacing items in the my lovely colours. I take my swatch wallet everywhere, just in case!!! 😂😂😂 Highly Recommend House of Colour.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
LOL! Yep, my mom had one of those Color Me Beautiful parties when i was in highschool. At the time I was not super interested in it and could not remember if I was a Winter or a Summer. One of my sisters- was an Autumn ... I remember that! Anyhow, this was a fun experience - 1980 style and all! xoxo
I do need to do this. I have NO CLUE what I am this way. So I do know I look good in burgundy like purple. I need to do have some one pick for me. I get undecided
It was really a fun experience and I am wondering if you are a Winter! We all want to be a winter. LOL! This is helpful for me - who overthinks EVERYTHING!! xoxo
I’m curious how long you spent with the rep and also a general cost. I’m sure regions vary but I’m wondering how much of an investment this is. Thank you, I did enjoy your thoughtful explanation.
Hello Kristine! So yes, it cost $300.00 and she spent 3 + hours with me. It does range- I think 300-500 seems to go the going rate and some have add-on's where they clean out your closet and such. It was definitely worth the $$ for me. I found it very helpful. xoxo
If you feel like you look good in black it might still suit you. Cool summer and cool winter are sister seasons so it’s possible that black looks good on you regardless??
Very interesting 👌. I am interested in color analysis, too. But don't take it too serious. You look great with gold jewelries. Take Michele Wang for example. She is definitely a winter type. But warm makeup looks much better on her than cool makeup. She also prefers warm makeup and it makes her look more alive.
This is so weird! I was just looking at her site earlier today!! I would love to get this done...as a 73 year old I think it would be fun especially to see if I should let my hair gray.
@@AbbyBlissWhite I did go to Sarah last week and it was so fun!! I told her I was wanting to get my colors done and then you had a video!! Sarah says "hi" and turn out I'm a Sweet Pea Summer! So I can't wait for your videos on this. By the way, I'm in big trouble as I thought I was a warm Autumn so my closet will be pretty bare when I go thru it. Wish I could have you buy 2 of everything you purchase but can't afford it-haha.
Yep! The interesting thing is that I only liked the cool toned bronzers and ADORE WA Biscuit! I think that is totally fine. I had already noticed that warm bronzers look off and muddy on me. So since I am a RUclipsr - I am sure I will still review things in different color palettes but definitely will be focusing more on the cool toned palettes that I already gravitate towards. xoxo

You should definitely wear what you LOVE! I actually love Orange and Pink together. Love that combo! BUT this was a really fun and informative process. AND yes- I just did a video using Cool-TONED SUmmer Makeup- I will link it here: ruclips.net/video/ssja-UOCdXI/видео.html
AND honestly - The Chanel BR range is the best cool I have found because it is not OVERLY ROSY or OVERLY Neutral which can run a little grey on me. I will keep you posted on what I find as far as good cool toned foundations. xoxo
I’m warm toned and opposite of you. I don’t love orange or brown but t love cool blues and greens 😅
Thank you for sharing. xoxo
I recently had a color analysis and am a Rose Tone Summer. I have a beautiful fan with fabric swatches of my colors. Love it. Truly an investment
Wonderful! So awesome! xoxo
Awesome 😊 I am summer too. Now I know why I stopped using bronzer!
I still love my bronzer…but use cool toned ones only…almost like contour.
@@isabelab6851 what is your favourite cool toned bronzer . ? Thank you 🙏
LOL! I am wondering if we just need to use 'cool toned bronzers. BUT it does make sense. xoxo
Isabel- that makes the most sense and you are right - the bronzers I love are all the 'cool' toned ones!!
LOL! It is definitely a fun experience. xoxo
Loved this!
YAY! I am so glad you enjoyed it.
I hope you have an amazing day. xoxo
Thank you for sharing the experience. Very cool.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a really fun experience. xoxo
It was easy to see the deeper tones were for you.
Great video thank you so much. Very interesting!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching.
Highly Recommend House of Colour.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hello. You look absolutely stunning in this video.
Thank you so much 🙂
That took me right back to 1980
LOL! This is helpful for me - who overthinks EVERYTHING!! xoxo
Abby, do you think I can be a summer. I have very cool light skin Lisa Eldridge 1/2. But natural dark blonde with alburn undertones?
What? I always understood there are no blondes in the winter season 🤔
I am a Summer and I am not sure about the Winters - but I think you are right - they are generally dark haired. xoxo
What kind of summer are you?
Yep! I just love black so much that I am keeping that in my rotation! LOL! This is just a guideline. xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite i agree. Never giving up black completely
Absolutely! I will still wear the colors and shades I like but this was a very interesting experience. So don't worry! Just a tool! xoxo
I went to see David Zyla several times for my colors and style recommendations. Changed my life, and saved me a lot of money in the long run.
That is so awesome! I am so happy to hear this! xoxo
This is so weird! I was just looking at her site earlier today!! I would love to get this done...as a 73 year old I think it would be fun especially to see if I should let my hair gray.
You will love Sarah! She is just amazing! Definitely, worth the investment! xoxo
@@susanchaney5059 I love this! Isn't Sarah the absolute best. I will definitely share everything with YoU!!
Can you wear cool coloured bronzers such as Westman atelier ‘ biscuit ‘ ? Will you be sticking to cool coloured eyeshadows in the future . .?
Yep! The interesting thing is that I only liked the cool toned bronzers and ADORE WA Biscuit! I think that is totally fine. I had already noticed that warm bronzers look off and muddy on me. So since I am a RUclipsr - I am sure I will still review things in different color palettes but definitely will be focusing more on the cool toned palettes that I already gravitate towards. xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite could you maybe do a video of your top cool eye pallettes , bronzers and lipsticks ?? Thanking you in advance 🤣
@@newgangan4754 Yep!!! xoxo
I second this!!
She is lake Oswego Oregon not Portland
Ann- her studio is in Portland now and Lake Oswego is the first suburb out of Portland about 15 minutes so it encompasses both areas. I hope this helps. xoxo
