I am 75 YO Bass Player and have been playing some guitar as well since the age of 16! I have developed Wrist and Hand Arthritis and and find it too painful to continue. I have never read music (I guess you would call me a hands on sought of guy) I recently bought from an Opportunity Shop, as we call it downunder in Australia, a Technics sx-KN501 keyboard to mess around with!. ($50 bucks mind you!) I have found this page and and I love love it, it makes sense and will help me to transmission from Bass Guitar to Keyboard! ...Ian
All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you! The higher beings brought me to your page because I sure needed it. I've seen a lot of videos but you gave me clarity, simplicity, and understanding to something that I've been shown but haven't been able to connect the dots!!! You're awesome!!! Keep up the excellent work👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Loving your channel Jacques. Having all your chord formulas on one sheet really simplifies things. Being able to print the PDF is very helpful for an old-school guy like me. Thanks for all you do!
I have learned so much valuable song playing information in 5 mins of watching this video, than in years of struggling with musical notation on the guitar. You are a fabulous teacher and communicator, and you make the world a much better place.
Superb video Jacques!!! Took your course some 6 months ago and haven’t stopped. Playing every day is a joy!! If anyone is thinking about progressing with piano, don’t hesitate…THIS is the Course you need!! Wonderful clear logical teaching giving a solid foundation. Thanks so much Jacques!!
Hey Jacques...have really appreciated all your valuable info and way of simplifying playing piano! Thanks so much for this latest tutorial! Love the clarity of 'The Formulas'!
You rock. It is so fabulous to find a give-away that is actually found and is ready to use as is. And you give a very nice, detailed explanation of the formula. I have heard all this over and over and now I have a formula sheet I can refer back to. I have around a third-grade level, for my piano work which I have done on my own with the very helpful use of videos such as this. I have been working to learn to play with chords and it is sometimes easier to learn the scales and sight-read music. Which is to say how hard chord work is. But with this formula I know I can figure out these chords in my lead sheets so I can play them. Thank you.
I never comment on videos, but this was too awesome to not extend a "thank you!" I used closed captioning so that I could have my headphones plugged into the keyboard-and it still translated!
Cool! I'm a self-taught ukulele and piano player and have written many songs and can play thousands. I don't use many chords but it's nice to have a simple way to figure out how to make chords without looking them up.
I learned using this method. I suffer from adhd and I have learning difficulties. Learning all the scales and notes is challenging for me but remembering that 4/3 thing made it really easy for me.
Thanks Jacques! Have been a bit lazy lately, but now have the formulas right where I can see them near piano. You are such a motivator for me. Getting back on the keyboard today!!!! For anyone who is wanting to learn piano, I highly recommend piano in 21 days course. Has made my playing the piano so much more enjoyable!!
I knew I shouldn't have taken a break. Thank you for explaining All, I needed to hear it and climb back on my piano bench. Sure hope my brain has retained most of what I have learned. Thank you Jacques. Thank you for being a great motivator.
Thanks so much, Sam! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the teaching technique. Your feedback means a lot to me. Keep having fun with it, and happy playing! 😊😊 -Jacques
Kown it's hard to look at the lessons because of my hours at work I leave at 4:00 in the morning and get back at 7:00 but what I have lesson to I learn a lot thank so much
I have played piano for years but never knew how to do chords. Your explanation made it so easy to understand how it works. I think your method seems to make sense. I’m just wondering where the link for the free PDF is? I would like to sit down at the piano and try your method.
In piano, you are a serf or a lord. Understanding key signatures, chords and simple inversions makes you a lord. Piano is mostly taught to make people serfs, and that is damn shame.
If the song is in a mol, for example, is that mean that we play all song in notes from that key or we use and notes from another keyes? And how can i know that
Wow! I have never seen chords explained this way before. This makes so much sense. Thank you so much.

what is it called if it goes up 4,3,2 such as Db F Bb
Hello I have a problem: what is a b chord ? For exemple a Eb chord ?
Hey Jacques! Can it still be a slash chord if I play one bass note since my hand’s are small. Really loving the content, it’s really helpful.
Hi Sarah,
Sorry I missed your comment until now! Yes, that can still be a slash chord. :)

The following is what is available, or what is shown, which is not a link: Piano Chords, Simplified (free one-page PDF for beginners)
Where is the link please?
Hi Tony,
The link is in the description under the video. :)

Where's the link (for the chord building sheet) and where's the description for 11ths, etc.?
Hi Don,
The link is in the description right under the video. ;)
