I get mixed feelings when i watch this episode. Love, sadness and nostalgic, you got a new house, your city got flooded and wow, respectively :-)
Keralis you should make that small island into a national park like redwood national park so you can put a lot of trees and parks

Small buildings such as the 1x1 squared ones along the shore to the south lower the land value. They prevent the buildings around it to upgrade or just takes a lot more time.

Hey Keralis! the reason your dam didn't work is because it needs some time to build up water behind it... sometimes this will cause temporary flooding. but as soon as it builds up enough water it will begin to function normally and will stop fluctuating. once it begins to function and the flow starts the flooding will stop! :)
Expand south east because you can then build a dam where you aoriginally wanted it to go. Also the water current has to be flowing towards the metal box thing not away
Go south west! There you could build a tiny area on the island with some small houses or even the modern art museum. That would look amazing :)
All the 1x1 and 1x2 buildings will bring your land value down keralis
THE parks filled a bit of the the commercial. They fixed it with the update 1.0.6B they also brougt one way roads upgrades in the game. You can make the by just upgrading and right click to chanes direction
can you do a house tour in your new house when you got time?
I think the dam fidnt work because it was 'full' of power. I have feeling it would work find if you connected it to the city where it would be used up. Cant wait for next episode

Your dam didn't work because the water flow wasn't strong enough to maintain the rotation of the wheel that generates the power, so u have basically created a lake there. :)
Try it at a wider place, then it will work :)

looking at the way the terrain is shaped, i think that the industry won't drain any more...just build a bridge over the floody bits
Dear Keralis,
You build the dam on the right place but a little too high.
When i placed the dam the water floats over the dam.
Then connect as fast as possible a road because the building need workers. Without workers it wont opperate.
My first dam had a power output of 60MW. But my second wich i placed on a better flowing river has an output of 1100MW!!!
So go for the dam and no nucleair power.

Don't Know if anyone has mentioned it yet but for optimum dam placement you want an area that is located in a deep gorge that has a very strong current. The gorge will allow you to get the best possible height difference between the damn in-flow and damn out-flow and keep the dam from flooding the surrounding area. Just make sure that you keep the top of the damn lower than the gorge. If you find a situation like that the damn will provide you with close to or exactly 1600Mw

Expand South West, put a commercial zone and use the shopping mall as your main attraction. High travel links to increase tourists to the city
You should probably have put the hydroelectric power plant somewhere else, like in the riverbank for example.

How to build a good dam: Find a place where the river isn't very very tight (where you placed it lol) but not like a lake size, a place with high "cliff" edges to prevent flooding, a place where behind the dam there isn't any important buildings. Then above all go on the view to look at the water, look at the arrows, if the arrows are thick, that's good this means high speeds of water! The reason why your dam didn't work was because the that the water wasn't fast/strong enough, so the tide turned, and started flood behind. A dam can produce like 600 KW (what ever the unit is...) So your place wasn't the most powerful. Eventually the water physics means that the water will find the quickest route to get past the Dam, this may mean going round it:BAD. Or using it:GOOD. Your map isn't the best really, but going south west is the best place for the dam. And remember, getting rid of the dam can be a huge disaster, so be very careful.... Your welcome!
I love it Keralis. I think you should expand the city north. But i wounder if you can do like a let's build when you build Cities skylines houses in Minecraft? That would be awsome!

The reason it didn't work was not because of a road connection it was because the water wasn't strong enough and also the walls of the river were to small you needed to put the dam at the edge of the lake just like you said Keralis

this is some things that i was gonna post while watching the video:
1. congrats on the new house! :D
2. you didn't do what i suggested for the transportation problem (increase the budget to get more buses)
3. expand north to the lake
4.i have no idea why people are having so much trouble with the dams... ive built 3 successful dams without flooding... xD
5. rekt holy shit XD i couldn't breath when i saw the water flood over your industrial.. XD
6. i don't know if the water will completely clear up over time but what i do know is that you can place a water pump to suck up the water... :D
7. also you can create your own mods/addons on the homepage!!! :D i tried it yesterday and made a small power plant and a park! :D its really cool and maybe you can make your own stuff. you can even create your own intersections.
8. talking about mods, you NEED to get the tree brush! XD its AMAZING!!! the one i have lets you just press + or - to increase or decrease the brush size, then you pick a tree and BAM! you just need to get it to see... XD

28:56 why would you build a dam there?!?!?!?! If you place it there everything will flood. The best thing to do is put the dam back where you had it.

Keralis, the dam has a glitch that it Works only when the water is high enough. I watched like 100 of these let's plays and everybody derped it up at this point. And still I wanna point out that you try that school in the industry theory, even though it is so evil. Maybe it Works and industry will upgrade to high tech.
Before the dam was placed,I was like:"Finally,a 'Damn dam'!" When the flood happened:"WHY DID YOU PLACE THIS DAMN DAM NOW ITS A DAMN DAM DISASTER,DAMN!!!
Don't build the dam , there's a bug so wait till the next update , Cites mentioned it before. The water needs to be at a very high level so that the dam will work but Cites is now fixing the bug. WAIT TILL THE UPDATE
If you bild the modern art museum on the lil island it will look so frikin amazing and it will add some shape to the city and most of all i eould be happy to se you aprecheate my advice:-). Keep up the good work and good luck.
Place the modern art gallery on the island with a large park and possibly another big building or statue

This was funny! I was really laughing at that flood. All through flood isn't funny, my town was flooded last year, with heavy flood, but in this game and your comments it was funny. :D
