    Hi friends! I've been noticing a lot of comments on my older videos where people tell me to turn off the background music!
    Thanks for the feedback- the advice was heeded a while back now (November 2017-ish, around the time I was able to upgrade my audio quality), so be sure to check out some of my newer videos. 😊

    Great advice about not drawing when you're tired. I've spent the day correcting yesterday's mistake. Ads are not a problem. Thanks for this challenging subject matter. Just in time for some glass knobs I'm doing.

      Claudia Sketches Also I think it is really helpful how you included your mistakes in how you worked through them. Thanks for doing that!

    • @ClaudiaSketches
      @ClaudiaSketches  6 лет назад +1

      Ingrid Johnson I'm glad you appreciate that! I like being transparent, I know how discouraging it can be to think that you're the only person ever making mistakes- it's easy to forget that social media is not a true reflection of reality and rather just what people want you to see. We're all human, we all make mistakes! :) And of course, mistakes are excellent learning opportunities and to exercise problem solving skills.

    • @MsGardener77

      Claudia Sketches So true, my children are learning art and it is really helpful for them to see someone with your skills persevere through the whole process, mistakes and all, and complete a beautiful piece of art.

    • @ClaudiaSketches
      @ClaudiaSketches  6 лет назад

      That's so lovely to hear! Being patient (or stubborn in my case ;) ) and holding out hope are some of the hardest things to learn in art. It's always worth the time and effort (and struggle!) though. Sometimes I feel like it makes the piece even better if there's been a bit of a fight and learning moment mixed in there.

    If anyone wants to throw a fit over you having ads let them. I think it's great you have them! People could always skip them or use adblocker if they don't like em. This picture is so pretty!! I feel like Glass and metal would be a lot harder than fur.

    • @ClaudiaSketches
      @ClaudiaSketches  6 лет назад

      Parasol Mushroom Art Thank you very much! I think there's a lot more visual information to process when trying to draw convincingly realistic fur- I feel like I have to concentrate a lot more through the entire process. Underlying values have to be considered in order to describe the musculature and anatomy, and then extra attention has to be given to make sure that all the fur strands are correctly placed with regard to length, direction, position, width and colour. With glass and metal there are fewer, larger and more solid feeling shapes. Obviously challenges differ from person to person though :)

  • @MaZEEZaM

    WOW, you have a huge amount of content for such a short time period, Awesome stuff :-) No issue on ads from me, your Mic sounds perfect to my ears, camera wise, better offers more options. In this regard the Canon 80D is a fantastic though not cheap camera for making your own content not only because of the flippy screen, the screen is also fully touch enabled and has very fast and efficient manual or auto focusing, apparently one of the best around at the moment. I looked into it heaps for my Architecture studies. It has meant I can take very high quality images very easily now using that camera and a tripod. Not inexpensive but great if you can afford it. The best model is the 18-135mm kit lens.

      Thank you so much! I upload every week (I aim to get things uploaded on a Sunday for me, but that doesn't always work out).
      I'd love to get a DSLR but they're very much out of my current budget. But I picked up a Panasonic Lumix TZ90 which I haven't tried filming with yet, but I hope that it'll do a better job of the webcam I'm using currently. It can shoot in 4K, so I have high hopes!

      All good, sadly my net at this stage can only cope with max 720p :'( I really wish I could upgrade it but our local infrastructure is rubbish. Supposed to be upgraded early next year so hopefully that will eventuate. Panasonic has a well known reputation for their video cameras so likely will be very good. Must be tired, poor english.... correcting.

    • @ClaudiaSketches
      @ClaudiaSketches  6 лет назад +4

      I don't have the time to make dedicated Patreon content right now- which would be why people would want to sign up. I'm a full-time university student, I take commissions and try to upload once a week on my RUclips channel. I also doubt I have enough of a following as of now for enough people to sign up to Patreon- I don't want to spend hours on content that only a couple of people will see. But one day I'd love to, just need to build up to it first :)

    Really didn't get the starting where you outline the sketch with white colour pencil, would be glad if you could tell that

    • @ClaudiaSketches
      @ClaudiaSketches  4 года назад +1

      At the beginning of the video, I already have the basic outline transferred onto my paper. I then use my pencils to refine the outline and add more detail before I start colouring. I use different colours for this- I wouldn't want to use a very dark pencil to outline areas that were going to be very light (for instance) as the dark lines would be very difficult to cover.

      I'd suggest making a black & white/greyscale version of your reference image in order to be able to better read the values. :)

  • @zipastewards1906

    When drawing transparent objects do you have to use darker paper or can you use regular whit/cream

    • @ClaudiaSketches
      @ClaudiaSketches  5 лет назад

      You can use any paper colour you like! :)
      I personally prefer working on a toned surface as it means I can build up the highlights with coloured pencil, rather than reserving the white of the paper for them.

      Glad you enjoyed it! It will be just the same, although your highlights will be the white of the paper. You could get the highlights to pop by colouring in the remaining paper.

    Plz ma'am tell me... Which pencil color you used...?

    • @ClaudiaSketches
      @ClaudiaSketches  4 года назад

      Sorry, but the piece was made a couple of years ago (so I won't be able to remember) and I don't keep a list. I used Polychromos (120) though, plus the Derwent Artists Black & White 6 set.
      You won't need the exact same colours to create a similar result. You could try pausing the video to see what colour the pencil barrels are that I use.
