- I made this video a long time ago, but since Sephiroth was announced for smash, I decided that I'm going to release this and make another voice over with Cloud and Sephiroth from Smash.

It's pretty crazy that he got nominated for a BAFTA for his performance as Cloud (his first voice role ever).
Makes him the first and currently only JRPG actor to get nominated.

I'm going to get hate here and by no means do I have anything against the legacy voices, but I feel the recast suits the characters a lot more
@@Joker3180Z I agree with some of the characters. It's mostly Sephiroth and Zack's voice that were just too perfect in their original performances. 😭

Why do I kinda want it both ways like Cody Christian for vanilla Cloud's voice and Steve Burton for AC!Cloud's voice. I dunno if anyone would agree with me...
Like how Greg Chun did a deeper voice for Radiant Dawn Ike compared to his Path of Radiance Ike.

they sound pretty similar to me... i dont really know why they bother changing the actor
@@orangeslash1667 He's talking about the Smash Bros skins. Greg Chun does a deeper voice for Radiant Dawn Ike (2, 4, 6, 8) than Path of Radiance Ike (1, 3, 5, 7.)
I think Cody's voice suits smash alot more. Good dub. Could do with a few more lines though

He did a fantastic voice as cloud Final Fantasy 7 remake thank Cody for bringing to Life a memorable character of The Final Fantasy 7 game remake

It would've been pretty great if they made this via an update, I mean if they got Sora's English voice everything is possible.

@@fukumari5758 you seem to forget that all the picks for DLC for Ultimate are Nintendo’s picks not Sakurai’s, while he has the final say, Nintendo is the one picking the characters, so if they were against having FF rep, they wouldn’t have picked Sephiroth
You think they didn’t try? FF7’s voice actors are under union and Nintendo is non-union so they are unable to work with each other because of rules. And they can’t get a different English voice actor because of Square Enix’s contract where they can’t replace the current one

I think Johnny Bosch's voice would be more fitting for Roy. Roy's Japanese actor played Leouch from Code Geass.

Got them straight from the game my guy. Went into the battle sim and turned off everything but voices.

I still think it's cruel that after voicing Cloud for 17 years he was denied being in the actual remake for his own game
He WAS in it. The Devs felt that they needed new blood and I'm glad they did.
Cloud sounded too mopey and depressed with the Burton voice. I can't even watch Advent Children anymore.
Cody Christian IS Cloud. A wannabe tough guy SOLDIER that is really just a dweeb inside.
