I checked out from gaming a bit during the Wii years so didn't play either of those, but I would go (worst to best): 2-1-3-Wonder-World. I just 100%ed Wonder and it's a great game. Makes me want to try and 100% World, which I never did
World is very doable at 100%. Go for it!
My favorite is Mario 1. But best would have to be Mario 3 I think.
Both solid choices
@@TNDVideoGames Still not sure about an entire rank list for myself. But I think top 3 in my opinion is Super Mario 1, Super Mario 3 and then Super Mario World. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
No battery save, but that's not a make or break for SMB3. You get plenty of chances to get through the game. SMB3 all the way. The hype around that game was incredible. It's one of the only games where the game exceeded the hype.
Agreed. Plus is tough, but fair.
SMB3 is the only correct answer for best 2D Mario game of all time. Tanooki suit and Hammer Bros suit, inventory management, perfect difficulty curve, the sense of adventure and discovery every player experienced... Endless secrets to discover, so much depth there for experienced players. SMW is the only correct 2nd place answer as well, but it just didn't quite have the "it" factor the same way SMB3 did. I've tested my theory scientifically and my hypothesis was proven by science! :)
Dave here. Can’t argue with science.
Nah. Super Mario 2 is a lot better since it's vastly different & you can play with 4 different characters each having their own unique ability. Or Super Mario World that has tons of secrets, mini bosses are different, The Bowser battle boss is a lot better & the Yoshi's.
No battery save immediately drops SMB3. There was no reason not to include it except cheapness on Nintendo's part.
Hard to argue with that, very good point.
Trying to figure out it by 2D you mean side-scrolling? Because Super Mario rpg is not side-scrolling but also not 3D is it?
Yeah, pretty much the sides scrolling games
Who's list was right? Mine or Dave's? Obviously mine ...
I think it’s obvious, Dave knows much more about these kind of things.
Super Mario 3 is a good game however I don't think it's top 3. You have too many problems with this game. A lot of levels are the same in this, mini bosses is the same boom boom boss. The game is way too long for a Nes Mario game. If you actually played every level it takes like 5 hours plus. Then there's suites in this game you'll barely use or not. Like the Frog suite, Bear suite, & the Hammer Bro suite.
I think the suit criticism is valid. They definitely could’ve added more options to use them. I think the fact that it’s a longer game, adds to the value. Hours and hours of fun. As a kid, it took me forever to finish this game, and definitely got great value out of it. To each his own though. Thanks for commenting.
@@TNDVideoGames As a kid, it probably took me months to beat it since I was way worse at video games than now. I would say I would game over by the 2nd World or not even beating the 1st World boss.
Only now as an adult I am a lot better at retro games & the ones that are easy to beat like Super Mario 3, I can beat that no problem every single level.
