Great reaction. This was the opening song and intro on the album they released last year - this concert (BABYMETAL Returns, January 2023) was their first in nearly 2 years after their 10th anniversary concerts in 2021 and then taking a hiatus, so this was their much anticipated return. Of course they used the epic opening track from the new album for this huge theatrical opening number in these concerts.
They had divided the Makuhari Messe in half with the walkway. At either end of the walkway were two main stages - one with their thrones which were revealed after two huge Fox gates were opened. The other stage had the Kami Band.
On the walkway there were actually two moving stages which moved from one end to the other of the walkway as well as rising and falling several feet. The girls spent most of the concert on the moving stages so they could get as near to as many of the fans as they possibly could.
They only used this production for these two concerts ... their next concerts were on 1st and 2nd April at the PIA MM Arena in Yokohama - and the production there was completely different but equally or even more spectacular.
Yes, Momometal was still an Avenger for these shows - she was revealed as the official third member at the end of the first night at PIA Arena and they started the second night with this song - and with all 3 girls rising up on their own thrones.
I think you would enjoy that just as much (or even more as the audio on that is live - this was the official video and had the studio audio dubbed over the performance video).

What do I think about BABYMETAL? Well, I've done crazy things to see them live. like traveling to places I thought I could never go... and by that I mean long-haul flights with stopovers and everything. I've waited in line for hours, talking to many other fans... despite of my natural tendency for comfort and my social anxiety. I have known personally amazing people from all over the world who share the same love for BABYMETAL. What I have achieved in the last two years I never thought was possible.
And the craziest part is to realize that I was one of those old metal elitists. Well... you asked... 😅

Well, they were sealed for two years and Su and Moa had time to think about their future. In principal Babymetal was finished because it was a 10 year contract. But it was possible to make a new Contract. And Su and Moa worked on one document under which conditions they might continue Babymetal. Their most important demand, we want to be a Trio again. And Koba agreed, they might try it again. But he was not really ready to brlieve in a success. They were no children anymore, and they were gone for some time. Sovthey testen Japan, then South Esst Asia and Australia. Then they gad some Luck Sabaton asked them to be an additional opening act inEurope. This was very helpfull for a Post Corona Location scouting and so a possible Headliner Tour at the end of 2023. In the US they got a CoHeadliner contract. But always don't waste to much money we needvto see how and where we have sufficient Fans.If we can get Headliner contracts in European Festivals. An additional 500.000 Dollar per Contract. Butvas Koba observed, his old girls filled many venues to capacity and they got Headliner contracts where they asked.
With other words, Metalverse was not as helpfull as expected. Then in 2024 Sick New World in Las Vegas. The Huge Change, Suddenly the US Bands respected Babymetal in general. Invitations for a South America Tour. Possible Headliner Tour in the US. Theirvguest numbers on European Festivals went zjrough the roof. And 2025 in March Australia, in May they risk a first European and UK Arena Tour. The first New Test to check for a Ceiling and interest for and by bigger venues.
So in hindsight. It wascreally the End of the old Babymetal and a beginning of the new Babymetal. Qe know they are planung new Songs forbthecArena Tour. We know about several Collabs but the fans also want new Babymetal Songs with Momo.She is now a fully inzegrated Part of the new Babymetal. The old Kami Band West is more and more a new integrated Part of Babymetal, Moa tried multiple times to pass Su's Mic to Matt. And she joked with Anthony.
If we consider this show was one of the last uses of the old Kami Band. Since Babymetal is now a new Contract, they have no longer any Connection with the old Kami Band, while the Girls are obviously building an active Connection with the Kami Band West, that they use all the time. Since the old Kami Band was not ready tonTour wirh thevGirls all the time the Chances for a rehire of the old Kami Band are slim. The new Babymetal is much more often on Tour.
