I start collecting TwinFrozr cards years ago. Today i had 3 twinfrozr Cards as collection... - GTX 650 Ti boost with TwinFrozr III cooler - GTX 660 with TwinFrozr IV cooler - and GTX 960 with TwinFrozr V cooler. Planning to add TwinFrozr VI from Pascal or Polaris Cards lineup...
I have to be honest, I owned some of those cards, and the claw mark thing and dragon scale thing did not really come across at all. I never thought that hard about it. The "oh it has to be red and black because 'gaming' " thing is true...
Agreed! I owned (well, I still do own) an MSI 1060 Gaming X, and I think it's the coolest-looking card I've ever had... But that screw-together mock up is REALLY snazzy, and makes my 1060 look kinda lame by comparison. :-P That mockup is sick.
i starting following gaming industry since nvidia 500 series and my favourite card was gtx 560 ti 1 gb . it was my dream card to jv that time .its the first when i see the twin frozer design wd propeller blade design.
I miss how MSI used to show off the heat pipes, there twisted in a way to look cool from the side when the GPU is in your system. Still think my GTX 770 4GB is one of my better looking GPU's, looks so small today but back then it was big. I like having the GPU cooling as a feature, showing of the heat pipes and heat sink.
It's not because I have an MSI 3080, but that 3000 series card looks the best. Nice video Gordon, I'd like to see the rest of the brands too if you're up to it
My last MSI card evolved in a Gigabyte card over few days...due to a problematic MSI's design fault of too exposed components for installation in tight spaces. In fact MSI card was way better, but time to fix it was crucial...but I wish I could've tested and used it for years though...
msi gtx 500 series was best in terms of design language, after that their blackish grey rtx 2000 series sounds best. these were well symmetrical like gtx 500 series. not that big or bulky. in 3000 series msi cost cutted gaming x linup and introduce big bully suprim cards which many like us who buy slim performance card didn't like it. msi has stopped making lightning and hawk cards. currently their gaming slim x linup look awesome but upto 4070 ti. 4080s and 4090 are stil chunky but they hv atleast improved their design language in symmetry. GPU shrouds shud line with gpu slot holders. they shouldn't hv huge height and width. plus their length shud under 310mm bcz the 90% cases in the Market wud easily accomodate their card.
They used to be good, especially the top tier series, they have devolved since 3080 fiasco. I'd say since 20 series when they started to gut cards to nickel and dime
The red cards were hideous. The newer Grey/Silver/Black cards look like every other GPU 😂 I have a Gigabyte Radeon and it looks very similar to the GeForce 3000 series MSI GPU.
What do you mean you don't think about it? Of course you think about it, when deciding on components and when looking at it. Who wants a mismatched look?
Note: This was filmed earlier this year when the team was in Taipei, Taiwan for Computex.

Aww so he's not back. That sux like this channel is starting to do without him. 🙁
It's wonderful to see you, Gordon! We've truly missed you.
this was filmed a while ago. . .

I’ve found Gordon! 🎊
this was filmed a long time ago. . .

I really like the not-launched screw-together card. That looked very nice.

It's great to see you again Gordon! Hope you are feeling well, great video by the way.

Love these evolution sort of videos although an year tag would've helped to keep track of the timeline
Thank you for the round up, was very cool to see the history.
Man, what a trip down memory lane. Had a 970 and 1060, both great cards. In fact the 1060 is still in service in someone else’s PC
The fact that i remember all of these cards doesn't make me feel younger.
The RTX 2080 gaming trio was the coolest looking gpui cooler I ever had.
Return of the King
We miss you Gordon! Free Gordon!!

Despite being well known for their twin fans.
My favorite MSI cards are the old ones with the MSI logo heatsink.
The GTX 10 era has the most stylish looking GPUs ever made
My very first graphics card was the MSI gtx 660 with that twin frozr III design.
500 600 series were best ❤
Thank you for the tour and the insight on the battle between art, function, and making a profit. 🙂
FINALLY. A Gordon PCWorld video. 🙂
Superb! I wish they would make another Lightning card. They just look epic!
Yay !! Gordon's back !!! I hope. 👍
Happy to see Gordon again
❤❤❤❤❤ YAY GORDY IS BACK ❤❤❤❤❤
So happy to see gordon

I prefer the evoke style, look good, be great in white :), great run though, I've had a few of them over the years :)
I remember some of those old GPU's...heck i think i still have some in storage ;)
6:20 the best Graphic card desing.
i was interested in lightning series coolers and i got it last 30 seconds. i expected more
MSI always had the coolest GPU designs!
evoke looks so good
The original silver twin frozrs were some of the niceset looking cards.
yess i luv that lineup of 500 600 series. it ws the best
He Lives
GORDON!!!
i love the 10 series, but i really want a 10 series fe card, hard choice
Still have a MSI GTX 980 somewhere in in box :)
I’m missing the sea hawk lineup.
exactly. hawk cards r missing

It is sad to see that MSI puts more and more budget on marketing instead of R&D.
2:06 What a cute little card haha; baby GPU
1:37 I see what you did there 😏
Weird MSI cooling shroud review. No PCBs on almost all of these cards....
I remember those evoke models looked cool but performed so badly, it's like they just retconned them immediately.
This should say MSI coolers, most of them have the graphics cards absent!

what happened to gordon anyway

Not much of a history. I have several older maintenance cards in my cabinet going back to the GeForce 3 or 4
MSI doesn't have good customer service.
MSI doesn't make GPUs. They make graphics cards using GPUs made by others.
Not a fan of msi gpu
Aww my old GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Twin Frozr III isn't there 🥲
