    When should I use function "loads in equilibrium" and when it is not necessary?

    What is the mean of model type (n vy vz etc)in member tab ? İs there any informative webinar

    • @prceXtu
      @prceXtu 2 года назад

      And second question , why dont we select model type to first model with two bolts ? What Will idea statica calculate ? So why dont divide the bolt forces to two equal values of half of total shear force?

      Hello, there is a webinar about the model type here:
      ruclips.net/video/nMPL8_YbiMg/видео.html&lc=UgzWRPyHRAmWBEYjAmt4AaABAg&ab_channel=IDEAStatiCa
      N-Vy-Vz is typically used for 1 bolt connections, like bracing, etc. It actually adds a support for moments at the end of the member and allows only shear and normal forces to take effect.

    Just started using IDEA statica and seems like it is promising since it has good flow withTekla structures and SAP2000, i think. Have checked linkedin profiles for supports for IDEA statica but it seems you people cant be added. Would have been nice if we can message you directly in Linkedin and ask you guys directly.

    Please consider a connection problem with moment connection, one top plate and bottom plate. Beam to column Flange. There is no such example. Please. Thanks a lot.

    When you changed "model type" for a pin connection to N-Vy-Vz only, you did not change "Forces in" or "position of hinge" from node to bolts. I think you should have change it as it is shear connection and position of hinge in shear connection should be in bolts not in the node. Becuase if you do not change it, as you mentioned it in the beginning of the video, there will be some moments on the bolt. And this bolt is not designed for resisting moment, its actually shear connection. So please answer me. Thanks....

      This depends on the approach - for some codes you have prescribed to check the bolts for the moment too.
      So depending on how your model should look like and behave and for what load you want to code-check the components you choose which settings you apply.
      You can also have acutally 2 models - nr. 1 where you leave the shear force position in node means you have moment in bolts, and nr. 2 where you shift the shear force and you have moment in the weld of the plate to member.
