Whilst on a cruise our ship stopped in Guadalupe and we went on a trip to see where Death in Paradise is filmed. I had never seen it and only went on the trip because my sister in law wanted to go. When we got back to England we went straight into lockdown so I binged all episodes and am now hooked! Need to go back as I need my photo taken in the jail as well!!!
Sounds great ive been to the carabean a lot but not this island .I'm definitely going to make sure that next time I go the island is on the itinerary so I can see the location its filmed at. The programme is great look forward to the new series each week pity they don't run long enough .
My wife and I enjoy this show immensely. We love all of the characters and the tropical setting, especially as we sit here in upstate New York, and watch the mixed ice and snow glazing the road. God bless.
I love this programme, but my wife is not keen, so I,as an early riser watch it every morning. I find it really enjoyable. The characters are brilliant, Florence is such a beautiful woman, smart, with an incredible smile.Nice to see a crime series without violence. Keep it going please

If you’re french speaking it’s on French tv too 😀 I believe the 2 lady officers (I’m terrible with names) and the mum of one who runs the bar all speak fluent french. So they dub their own parts in the episode 😀. We’re lucky to have some really good tv here

I saw the very first show when covid began and it was a welcome relief. I was totally hooked! I binge watch the episodes. I have my favorite episodes and characters. Do you think it can go for 20 seasons? I hope so! The commissioner---what a character.
Definitely agree there, he is a great character, but that might be what limits the show, in the end. The actor who plays the commissioner, Don Warrignton, is in his 70s, and I kind of feel that - should he retire, or - God forbid - die, they would not be able to replace him. Commissioner Patterson is one of the few continuously recurring character in the show, while other characters have come and gone, reminder since the departure of Danny John Jules none of the original main cast are left in the show, he - alongside Catherine - has been a main stay, a small element of consistency. There is no one, really, that could replace him, no one who could represent that same consistency anyway, so I feel that the show would end if he were to leave.

I can't remember having seen him playing another character... I loved the show from the beginning, watched every episode I could in German tv, obviously the German dubbed version. Would like to see the original version as well..! Don't remember the character's or actor's names, but loved the first female police officer a lot, and also the inspector of the early seasons. Didn't like it so much when several characters in later seasons disappeared and new ones were introduced. But after a while did appreciate the new characters, sometimes even more than the early ones..! Would appreciate if this show didn't come to an end at all, but you're right, the commissioner HAS TO BE Don !!
Great tour of behind the scenes! I watch it on PBS in the states. Hopefully, it will be back on soon! We need to know what happens with Josephine’s and Ralf’s characters! Definitely, will miss Tobi!

Watching it now season 5 absolutely love the show my favorite or one of them is dawyne friend that was murdered and how the solve a case years before with this hurricane. Great soundtrack to it too. Another thing I like is all the different actors that been on the show like Martin compston from line of duty and many others

@@friktionrc Have you tried Father Brown - current series airing currently. Then there's Hetty Wainthrop and Frost. From the drama department - but not very dramatic. Light entertainment, easy to follow un-rushed stories, family viewing, tea and scones. Sometimes the reboot is 'better' or just a different take on things.

It’s got to the point where I’m venturing into Ch4’s European detective shows…finished ‘The Killing’ a while back and now onto stuff like ‘Rebecka Martinsson: Arctic Murders’ and ‘Inspector Borowski’ so all is not lost but these are all subtitled so if you are thinking of watching bear in mind they are not in English. If you haven’t seen them, it’s worth a punt…and especially Inspector Montalbano (used to be aired on BBC iPlayer). Thanks and enjoy 😎👍

The biggest mistake of this serie.. to have the police officer in first episode set as killer and take her out of this serie.. i stopped watching this instantly ..what a stupid move.. sorry 🤷🏻 the most beauty and charismatic character in this .. who do not know these basics has not done his homework!

The Commissioner is really the star of Death in Paradise, you can plug-in any new character, but not the commissioner he the one constant.
Josephine is very pretty and sweet, but Camille was stunning

Love the show very much but it’s almost like a young woman comes with the job for an old detective. As a minority woman it’s irksome.
It use to be good the first 3 seasons, the last season couple seasons were rubbish especially new season 12
