- I didn't get the results I was hoping for, but we just keep on going either way. Lots of fiddle fart projects help keep the dream alive and it's part of the off grid lifestyle at the cabin.

Hi Jay, check the tank to make sure you don't have something in there blocking and change the filter after to a clear one if you can..
Agreed!! Definitely do above before tearing the carbs off.
I'm thinking you are right
Poor Jay
This just wasn't his day.
At least he tried
Laughed instead of cried.
He worked on a lot of things as he should
But at the end it didn't do any good.
So I guess now the carburetors apart he will take.
Then hope at last it will work for heaven's sake.😊
Wishing you the best of success my friend.
Love it
Once winter is over, buy a bottle of Stabil and put recommended amount in the tank and run engine for a bit. You'll be happy you did come next winter.
Thats what i like about older snowmobiles you can tinker with them to get them running as long as you know the basics.:) Nice🎉
👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️💕🐾🐾. At least it quit on you at the cabin and not down the mountain.😍
So true
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and Jen working on the homestead and working on the snow mobile to get it running
God Bless 🙏🏻 Jay and Jen 🫶🏻 Appreciate you my friends!
Nice troubleshooting on the snow mobile. That would’ve driven me nuts. Now it’s ready for next year or a May snowstorm. 😜
Tell me about it
Hey Jay, hold off on the carby for now... when you blew through the gas line, it cleared for a while. I would first check the filter or fuel tank for a bit of plastic or a leaf blocking the outlet. You blew it out of the way but it made it's way back to blocking fuel flow. I know nothing about snow mobiles, it's been 30°C here today, but that seems like it could be an easy fix if it is just muck in the fuel tank or filter. Greetings from sunny Perth, West Australia. Cheers, Frank.
Always enjoy watching you work out problems - nice work as always.
Nice score on the sled!! J&C
fiddle fart projects are always good!
Woot woot
Because snowmobiles operate primarily in wet conditions there isn't a need for an air filter with no dust in the air.
This makes a lot of sense....😊👍
Bummer!
You need to check the filter in the gas line, between the gas tank and the pump don't just blow in the line, or it will just clog again. From what I can see the oil need changing.
Good point.....maybe I'll still get lucky and try that
Hey Jay
I'm guessing but maybe snowmobiles are like boat motors and don't have air filters. I wouldn't know sense I'm from Florida. Wouldn't even know how to ride one lol! There's no dust on water, probably the same on snow. Just a thought. Enjoy your channel 😊
Makes sense my friend
Ps same in sweden sir 😊😊😊
To me a two cycle carb is two helpings of pasta! Big help, eh?😍🇨🇦
Lol
Now you got a project i can get into.
I love to tinker....I hope we can do more videos of this in the future. 😊
Change fuel filter. You blew whatever was blocking it down inito the pickup line or the tank and it came back up again. 😉
Looks like you kept the choke on if that's the red pop up button next to the throttle. But hard to see! Best of luck! Ty for the content!
I have no idea what a two cycle carb is like due to 2 cycle paranoia. I always ran my two cycle engines dry on my boats and chainsaws if I thought it might be the last use of the season, but now they are all gone, replaced by electric, or battery powered. I did forget that there was gas in my electric start Honda generator and have not fixed it yet and probably never will due to age keeping me off the floor and not being able to lift it anymore. I did get two smaller ones with a gas cut off, so it is easy to run them dry quickly, and to drain the tank quickly.
Such a tough situation my friend. It is nice to have the electric option for sure.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen People are amazed at how powerful electric chain saws are. I have even taken a small generator and electric saw to remote places to cut fire wood. I recently got a battery powered 12" and cut up an 8" limb with it with ease.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen I have used electric chain saws for years and people have seen me use them and are amazed at their power. I have cut fairly large trees with them, and even used with a generator away from the house. I have a new battery powered 12" saw which amazed me at the strength and size of things it will cut.
Shortest snowmobile ride ever😂
Lol.....this should have been the title of the video, lol
Aww sucks about the sled i guess you must fiddle fart a bit more ,White smoke sounds like coolant in the combustion possibly .
You may want to consider changing the fuel filter.!
The fuel filter may be denser than it should be and the choke thus harder to adjust - the mix air fuel must be close to correct.
I'll have to try replacing that filter.....makes sense
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
How much dust do you experience in the snow? Not much use for a filter when used in the right environment.
Makes sense.....just was surprised to see a different intake box than my other two machines
Check the filter, maybe when you blew into it it cleared it but the shit got back into it.
Good point buddy
Almost a win unless you're going 20 feet at a time.
🖐😎👍
👍
White smoke !! Not good Jay
I had a station 1980 I rebuilt it from ground up put new Shocks new springs and a new track on it and new seat bought it for $500.00 sold it for $1,500 then I bought a 1998 500cc Polaris what a piece of junk then I bought a used 2005 max 600 skidoo it was a very good machine the Polaris need a rebuilt on the engine but I didn’t like it anyways what year is your Polaris lite jay
It is a 1995.....the red one I have is a 94 and the green one is a 93.....hoping this one will replace the 93
That 1995 Polaris lite weight is 393 pounds it’s a 339cc fan cooled twin to drive 121 inches of track the air box filter is right behind the steering column it’s just a piece of Foam
🇳🇴👍👍
Change the fuel filter sinds you blow it against the flow direction its probaly dirt problem
That's what I was thinking. Might have just blown what was clogging it up back into the tank.
Did you change the fuel filter?
I did not.....but probably a good idea
Can’t say you didn’t try that’s for sure.
you bought a used snowmobile?
Why not? Jay is star at rejuvenating equipment!😍🇨🇦
@@SJC49 i always buy used also :)
Yes....I like to have a back up machine, and my green one is having more issues than I care to deal with, so I was hoping this would be an easy replacement
I would add a bottle of Seafoam to a fresh tank of fuel. It will clean out the carb and the fuel pump
I'd replace the fuel filter before messing with the carburetor. It could allow gas to filter through it for awhile before reclogging and then unclog after awhile and reclog. It's a cheap part to replace and should be done each or every other season.
I will give that a try. Thanks
