Great video as usual. You are probably the cleanest / neatest luthier I see their videos. I laughed out loud when you chucked the extra piece of fret on the floor as if you’re pissed off !
From now on this is exactly how I'll be doing those 19th frets! So far no disasters but I always have that moment of trepidation followed by an attempting at being one with the universe moments before diving in. It's a small special detail perhaps, but you are now my official life hero! You were already pretty darn close but now, as I mentioned, it is officially official. :-) Thanks again.
Hello Pablo can you tell me the best fret width & height for a classical guitar, also is the neck set flat inline with the soundboard or does it pitch down slightly like a steel string acoustic? great video's and work!
Hi Geoff, the size I use is 2mm wide and 1 mm high. This is pretty standard. The neck in my guitas have a very slight angle forward( the opposite to the steel string guitar) this is achieved by having the right slope on your solera mould. All of this is very clearly explained in my course which you can find on www.onlineguitarmakingcourse.con
To get the white black rope effect on the rosette are they individual tiles like the red one or a continuous piece like the herringbone you show how to make? Would be nice to see a vid on how you construct various rosettes.
muy bueno maestro ,yo dependiendo del modelo de traste limo los dientes de una cara de esa forma entra mas facil ya que el vacio que hay en esa sona es mucho.
I use 2 mm which is 1 mm high. This is just my preference as I prefer a low fret. The 2,5 mm is a little higher but it will also be fine. The difference is very subtle.

The black and white rope is made of separate tiles and as they come together they show as a rope.
I will make a video soon showing how it is done.

Could you tell the exact type of fret you use?
I use standard size fret wire for classical guitars. 2mm wide by 1 mm high.
