I spent time in Germany. I knew of the Holocaust, and this story. I had read about this story. I speak German. To watch this story and ‘hear’ him say he was resigned to his fate in German was chilling. It’s hard to understand how this happened only such a short time ago. For all time this should never be forgotten.
I lived in Germany for 3 1/2 years. I went to visit Dachau concentration camp. I will never forget it... There was such a profound sadness that was almost palpable. It was so chilling to see the words above the iron gates "albeit macht frie" knowing that so many walked through and never walked out. To see the crematorium...it was awful! I could not bring myself to visit the other one in Poland. I just couldn't do it... especially when I found out that they still had the mountains of ashes unburied and present for all to see. Which I think was done so people COULD NOT FORGET. Also so others could not deny. Deny, Deny. I am just thankful the ashes were buried at Dachau...😔
4:28 - it wasn't "all over one day, just like that".... the rest of the world contributed many lives, over a number of years to end it. Brave men and women fought for, and/or died to end it... and we'll do it again if it ever gets that bad again. We should do it again sooner too - with our words and actions. Lest we forget.
Incredible how at the trial in Jerusalem, Adolf Eichmann did not feel any death, remorse or pain at the sight of the emaciated bodies! A real psychopath
