What is LED-Pitch?

Have you ever noticed that LED strips have different spacing between LEDs? 🤔
You might think that this has to do with the overall brightness per meter. 💡 Having many LEDs makes it brighter and having few LEDs makes it darker?
Although this can be a reason, the distance called “Pitch” is a relevant characteristic to create uniform illumination of surfaces. This can be the cover of a linear luminaire that needs to be uniformly illuminated without lightspots, or a cove in architectural lighting that needs to be uniformly illuminated without interruptions.
