    these vids are the reason I keep sticking to conventional, no lift with ever look as sick. I just moved to college aswell and wanted to attempt 435 conventional (PR is 425 rn) but they don't have a deadlift bar and the standard straight bar is probably the worst thing ever.

    • @Rezunt
      @Rezunt 2 года назад

      My college gym doesn’t have a deadlift bar either.. is it really an issue? I’m quite small and max deadlift is around 120kg. Thanks

    • @tbeau0
      @tbeau0 2 года назад

      @@Rezunt I've only used a stiff bar 2 times so I'll probably get used to it but one it's thicker so using hook grip feels weird and the gym doesn't allow chalk (go figure), but main thing for me is not getting that bend when pulling the slack

      He is a deadlift specialist. His other lifts are pretty good, but his head lift is by far elite and it has a lot to do with his leverages and hard work

    • @Burog1
      @Burog1 10 месяцев назад

      Gaining weight isn’t the end all be all for deadlifts, it helps but if you bulk too much you can make your leverages worse. I was fat 220lbs deadlifting 500, cut down to 175lbs bodyweight and could still deadlift 500.

    How much you weigh? Nice to see a former sumo go conventional :)
    I am also considering hook grip. I don't have a grip issue but I sometimes helicopter even with my underhand further out and it's easier to get tighter with straps which I assume hook grip helps with also.
