I grew up near Sioux City and was fortunate to see Tommy in his early years. From his high school bands and sit ins, although his "name" hadn't grown yet. Then I got to see Zephyr twice. Once with Tommy and Johnnie leading the band. Candy was absent. When I moved to Denver, late 1972-73 for art school...Energy was frequently playing a 3.2 bar in Denver, Dirty John's. I went with several other hometown Iowa boys whenever they played. Totally hypnotic and wonderful, especially up front in a smaller place. We eventually connected with Tommy and our shared Iowa roots and a session hanging out back. Soon after, he went onto the James Gang.
Yeah I rember seeing them play at my sweet lass a 3.2 bar in Denver my older sister was married to Jeff cook the lead singer I was a skinhead punker with a drunk and bad attitude towards this band and caused problems fights act .. looking back u was a real numbskull and should have been nicer ...I played hardcore for several years and wish I'd been nicer I could have possibly learned a thing or too instead of getting 86,ed from the club and charged with assault for beating up some disco boys .. lol. I be Koo now and look down on violence but still like to go backwards in a mosh pit . While watching my son's band raise hell !
So ahead of their time. Fabulous
Wow, Tommy’s early days! 😳 Goose-bumpy!! I miss him so much!!!
He never loses your attention, so easy to listen to whether it's fusion or rock.
Such a young kid but so beyond his years♥️
