yeah. but that was not the point of the video. as you said i could have replaced the the fret. so as a learning video, you picked up on that. That was the point.
after radiusing the fretboard and pressing in the frets, im suprised that you had to take so much off the frets with the leveling. I. was sorta under the impression ( from stew mac), that if done that way you could skip the leveling, or very little ? their tools are darn expensive, ill probably never figure it out lol. was thinking about a concave fret recrowning file, the half circle kind if you know what I mean. I wanted to ask if you had any experience with those and what is your opinions on them? also what about a triangle file for crowning ? thanks
Don't use a triangular file. Use one like in the video concave. I know it looks like I'm taking off a lot from the frets but I'm only using 320 and 400 grid sand paper.
hi conjering... this was long but very useful tutorial, thank you so much! can I ask you where did you bay the sandpaper and the long metal tool you attach the sandpaper to?
Good job ! This sanding beam is the way to go with straight radius fb. However, for compound radius fretboard, 24" fret leveler must be used.
Good to note
That shouldn't have needed so much sanding for one fret. I woulda just replaced it. All the frets are worn down to that one frets level now. Oof.

Does the leveler you use have the same radius as the neck?
Yes and that's all I use
does not look like gold ?
It actually does and they are very slick when you bend notes.
