I wrote a long comment & I think the devil suddenly bumped it out by the way it happened, so here again...I've been reading & video talks on Luisa' writings for several years. Its not slam dunk.. one will be reading it for life. Ive had great love & devotion to P Pio for many years & know he is authentic & present in prayer. Im just starting to find out abt Maria V & am open to her writings as well. Ive heard a few times there is a similarity in the writings of a few (& more than) mystics. In some writings, I feel Ive known this for years only with different words...something like parables. Other writings I find very new deep & so richly inspiring. Perhaps God is using us to learn differently but still with one purpose & goal in mind. No 2 people are the same even mystics, yet there are things Jesus said to them that were the same, years apart, different countries cultures, & languages. Could it be a way of uniting our minds & souls to a point of eventually sharing or being One? Have u ever had 2 people ask the same question or make the same comment word for word living far apart? Or something happens and then happens again and we call this prayers being confirmed...answers from God being confirmed. Just my thoughts since you asked for them...God bless! I think God certainly does have you on a quest to find out something deeper or more widespread. Afterall, weren't 2 of the Gospels written diffrrently but holding the same teaching & meaning? Fiat!☘️🔥🕊

Padre Pio encouraged the study of Luisa Piccareta. His spiritual children formed a group to study her writings. He asked why people from Corato (Luisa's homeTown) came to see him, when they had her. I have grown in my faith and relationship with the Lord by studying her works and also Maria Valtorta. The mystical connections are evident. Praise God!

I read the Poem of the Man God in 1999 and 2000 in its entirety. I loved it and it helped me understand the Gospels so much better. It made me fall in love with Jesus (and St Peter) and love our Blessed Mother even more. It was a real turning point in my faith journey - which continued with my first pilgrimage to Medjugorje in 2002. Fast forward to 2020 and I was introduced to the Book of Heaven and Luisa Piccaretta. I heard Jesus speak in the exact same way as He speaks to Maria Valtorta (Little John). I’ve just finished all 36 volumes and have started them again. In Ireland, you have a wonderful teacher in Frances Hogan who takes you through the volumes sip by sip. Yes Robert - it is about total union with God. ❤
My husband is a 3rd order Carmelite and has also begun to study them with our priest in a men’s group.

So glad for your post Robert. Thank you for your honesty and humility regarding Luisa. No doubt you are being drawn into the Gift of living in the Divine Will! May God enlighten your understanding of her writings and may he draw you all the way to the centre of His Holy Divine Will. God bless you! P.s. both Daniel O’Connor and Derek Williams have compiled books on the introduction to living in the Divine Will which you may want to consider reading.

Sia lodato Gesù Cristo! Dear Mr. Nugent, thank you for your always deeply thoughtful reflections. The 20th century saw an amazing amount of supernatural activity, and such a rich variety! It seems almost that the Lord opened wide the heavenly Treasury and let rain down all kinds of beautiful manifestations of His love, and which were also light and nourishment and medicine (what are punishments but last-resort medicines when no other cure has worked!). Padre Pio said once that of all the periods since the creation of man, our era is the absolute worst, the most evil, the most perverse. He said that hell would become empty (I seem to remember that he was refering to the time that would come immediately after his death) because all the demons would be on the earth, in children, in the youth, in adults and in the old; but we know that hell was already spilling out into the world at the time of St. Leo XIII's prayer to St. Michael!). So it stands to reason that the Lord would send an abundance of help. And this time, more than at any other time in history, I think we all f e e l the urgency of our needing to reach the much higher ground of Union with God. It is not enough to be Catholics the way our parents and grandparents were---the waters are rising and raging and will carry off anyone who isn't right up there in God's arms. And surely that's what all these holy apparitions and supernatural phenomenon are meant to do: to draw us to God and give us...even a short-cut! to deeper and closer and indestructable union with God.

You have to be an extremely fast and avid reader! You are able to go through so many books and absorb their contents. Many writings by Catholic saints I have trouble getting through, finding a connection with. St. Teresa of Avila, had to eventually stop. I’m reading a book right now on prayer by a Protestant minister. It is surprising because he has a lot of Catholic elements in it. He quotes Saints, talks about Lectio Divina, the Jesus prayer. But he also talks about his family now and difficulties they struggle with, and it is so easy to make a connection.

Have you ever heard of a friend of Padre Pio by the name of Penny Trice? Apparently she helped him translate responses to letters from English speaking people. I got a used book called “ Francis” about a stigmatist in America. On the first, mostly blank page, written in red pen was an unsigned note saying that the book was a gift given by Penny to the writer of the note. I’ve been trying to find out more about her or if there’s a pic of her with Padre Pio.

Maria Piccaretta adds new things that are not from Our Blessed Lord. The sexualising of Our Lord. Alarm bells ring when she states that Our Blessed Lord told her rhat Our Blessed Mother will sit on the right hand of Our Lord and that she Louisa will sit on his left side. So is she to sit between God the Father And Our Lird Jessus Christ. Is Louisa placing herself above Our Blessed Mother?? Very alarming and concerning. Many, many Holy priests have said to stay away from Louisa. Where are her writings coming from? Padre Pio never approved her writings but commanded his spiritual daughter during confession that she reads Maria Valtorta. Another point is that people following Louisa say that you are special if you follow her. There are many, many serious question marks about her writings. I felt an overwhelming feeling that it is so wrong when I was being introduced to it. May the Holy Spirit always guide us. 🙏

God is the Author of all these prophetic work. Therefore there should be no disagreement. And to believe their work, we do not need any scientific proof which would be a poor human approach lacking in Faith. And Maria Valtorta's work is vast and it takes lots of time to read them. I found that reading her notebooks helped me greatly to understand her, what she went through, how much she suffered as a victim soul, ... So I would recommend to read the Poem of the Man-God and the 3 Notebooks (1943, 1944, and 1945-50), paying close attention to the dates of vision of dictations of the story in the Poem of Man-God. Her writing on "lessons on St' Paul's Romans' (in English version) was very hard for me to read, because of poor (sorry for using this word) translation. I would not recommend it unless the publisher issues a better translated version of the book.

Yes a good insight re our individual mission for union with God. But it I believe applies more so to a community united heart and mind for Christ. Such a community will effortlessly convert all who come into contact with it. These extraordinary people point beyond each of us to the Body of Christ. What is the kingdom of God amongst us? It is where Gods will is done.

I began understanding Luisa when I began to read The 24 Hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
My suggestion: just read her writing and it will begin to expand your understanding.
Also the Flame of Love Movement (Elizabeth Kindleman) and True Life in God (Vasula Rydén, recently deceased) draw us the the same thing; Living the Will of God and not just doing the Will of God.
Jesus wants us to invite Him into EVERYTHING we do- Jesus walk in my walking, breathe in my breathing, fly in my flying, etc.
Frances Hogan is an Irish evangelist (RC) and you also have Greg Dunne in Ireland.
Look them up and you will find the pieces begin to fit together in marvellous, unexpected ways.

I am not sure that this zealous promotion of Maria Valtorta's works should necessarily be in the context of divine revelation , I know it has been said by Fr Mitch Pacwa (of EWTN fame) " Her (Maria Vatorta's) multi-volume life of Jesus flirts with heresy and exhibits bad taste. Its claim to authenticity has been rejected by Rome".Fr Pacwa is a renown scholar with masters in Divinity and degrees in Sacred Theology & philosophy. I would not advise against reading her work but would treat it as you would that of many of the great authors presenting with "Divine madness" a great fictional masterpiece. My advice, stick to sacred scripture.

I think the missing dots may be something to do with the following. In The Divine Will, part of it is doing rounds. We can redo acts of the whole human family, past present and future. This is done by God, using our soul so we won't necessarily feel this happening physically. With God, the soul has the ability to multi locate. We redo acts that were or will be imperfectly done to turn them into Divine, eternal, infinite acts to give God complete glory for Creation and Redemption, the way He wants things and the way things would have been if man did not fall to original sin.
We cannot redo Jesus’s or Mary's acts because they are already perfect, Divine, eternal, infinite acts but we can reenact them which is also part of Living in The Divine Will.
From The Bible, we only know certain things about Jesus’s life in His humanity here on earth and even less about Mary's. I think the writings of by Maria Valtorta give us more information about Jesus’s and Mary's hidden lives so that we can further our rounds in The Divine Will to reenact their earthly lives.
Saint Padre Pio used to communicate with Luisa and he lived in The Divine Will, probably why he was so special. The key is Living in The Divine Will I believe.
One of the Benedictine monks of The Divine Will told me that the writings of Luisa and Maria go hand in hand and I think that may be the reason why, however, I can find out more from him if you like?
    God Bless ❤🙏

To my knowledge Padre Pio never wrote addendums to the Gospels.
Voltortas writings are private revelation. I can't comment as to whether or not Voltortas writing is divinely inspired.
But I am wary of the alleged conversations documented in Voltortas writings. Conversations between Jesus and judas?
We have enough in our Gospel to work with.

The Catholic Faith isn't a matter of gnostic knowledge. None of these people are necessary for living the Catholic Faith. I personally think it's a mistake to look to the Saints in this way. All that is needed is in the Gospels - and the Spirituality of different saints is helpful in learning to live like Christ and living in the Will of the Father. But none of them is giving us anything new. I just can't personally believe that God would be leading people to live the Gospel according to "fill in the blank."

Robert, Maria Valtorta is a great preparation for reading Luisia Piccarretta ,also Padre Pio was a contemporary of Luisa. He used to tell pilgrims to go to Little Luisa in Corato. Padre Pio said the new millennium would all be about Luisa the Corato Saint
