Actually, Zendaya was very shy as a child and there are still vestiges of that. That's the only reason she repeated kindergarten. Her nearly overwhelming shyness back then made people think she should go another year to gain more confidence socializing. Not sure I agree with that approach. But it worked out for Zendaya overall. She's brilliantly multi-talented, charming, humorous, thoughtful, and diplomatic.
