What is actually happening here is this guy is clearly younger than she is, he clearly lacks experience and has extreme social anxiety. You see the smile and the awkward laugh, but I see complete panic and internal meltdown. It's highly likely he didn't even know "vows" were a big thing. It's also highly likely he's never even BEEN to a wedding or seen one before. He tried to diffuse the tension by making jokes, clearly being uncomfortable with exposing his deepest emotions to people he doesn't know like a fucking episode of friends.

After 10 years together, if it wasn’t the bride pushing to get married, *likely* their families were asking them because that’s what families do.
I’m not trying to make the bride look like the bad guy. Quite the opposite. She clearly put a lot of effort into making their wedding day beautiful. She looked beautiful. She chose a lovely dress and likely went for multiple fittings. She did her hair and makeup or had it done She took the time to write heartfelt wedding vows. It looks like the groom did nothing but put on a suit and show up. His low effort speaks to his lack of enthusiasm for the entire enterprise. He purposefully and without apparent remorse humiliated her in front of their gathered family members and friends. His vow was crude and disrespectful to both his bride and their assembled guests. The officiant gave him multiple opportunities to walk it back a bit but he double, then tripled down. Then he didn’t even know what hand to put the ring on. He didn’t care enough to do even the bare minimum of preparation or put in the slightest bit of forethought. She can laugh it off and justify his actions but deep down she must be terribly disappointed and hurt.
It boils down to “if he wanted to, he would.” He didn’t want to make any kind of effort, so he didn’t. I hope for her sake, this isn’t the way he is all the time. It doesn’t bode well for the long term.
