I'm so with you about not giving up but for many of us it's that we've run out of workable options, not that we want to give up. But being out of viable options will, after many years, cause one to give up. And by then we have stress related issues.
I see someone like you and think finally! But then as a retired person, I have to pay my Medicare premium which leaves no money to pay a non-insurance doctor. And I totally understand why you're not part of the Medicare system, by the way. I really appreciate your encouragement however.

Safety first always. And yes, we much be aware of the pharmaceutical money machine. However, it is very important to clarify the difference between total testosterone and free testosterone. And as for the typical male population, most males ideally have a total testosterone more in the realm of 800. 300 would be considered low for most typical males and would lead to negative symptoms. I am a female who is currently on pellets. Although this may not be ideal… it’s the best option for me ( and many) as creams and patches do not work well. Yes, they may be easier to control than a pellet, but not ideal. The absorption rate and levels are nowhere near consistent. Although it is slowly improving, testosterone replacement for women is not taken seriously and there isn’t enough research going on. Testosterone is an important hormone for all humans. Furthermore, it’s comical that a male who has low T is almost (not always) but almost always put on injections, not creams… why? They don’t work well!! Unless a woman goes to the black market, this is never an option. So I have to go with my best option which is pellets for now. I go to a very experienced practitioner who goes by my blood work, and not the recommended Biote dosage. My levels hover between 50 and 100 and I feel great and have no negative side effects. Just wanted to share my experience.

Doc, You are 100 percent right. I hope women will listen. I've had hormone issues my entire life. I have
Addison's disease and a partial thyroidectomy. No amount of supplements or neurotransmitters will make up for hormone deficiency. Find a Dr. that is willing to work with you. I agree with the "vote with your feet". If a Dr. gaslights, move on. DHEA can also be monitored and replaced as needed.

Wow, I am only 5 minutes into this video and you have already spoken wisdom I can verify from personal experience.
    Pellets ~ easy but,
you can't change a pellet dose. I tried them, once. Expensive and I had to add extra oral estradiol because there wasn't enough in the pellet.
You are right about not supplementing your way out of menopause. I am an acupuncturist, so herbs, supplements, etc, 'natural' is my thing whenever possible.
When I hit the menopause wall (it was like a switch just flipped on) I tried everything under the sun. Nothing
    worked like estradiol.
I spent a lot of money on herbs, both Chinese and other supps with some improvement but never stopped the all night long hot flashes.
I think at one time I was taking about forty pills a day. Been taking estradiol for about 14 yrs now.
I would love to consult with you about the issue I have with not being able to take progesterone. This has caused major issues over these years and I've yet to figure it out.

Seriously? Your doctor is absolutely nuts if they won’t test your estrogen and progesterone levels. These hormones are critical to your wellbeing as you age. Having adequate levels of estrogen, balanced with progesterone (assuming you have not had a hysterectomy), is crucial if you want to lower your risk of the three major diseases that can affect women after menopause: heart disease, osteoporosis and dementia. Just because you aren’t having symptoms does not mean your hormone levels are adequate. You need testing to determine that.

I go to the VA in Manchester NH. I was 61 and on Loestrin birth control and the doctors were harassing me to get off the birth control. The birth control pill gave me my life back. The number on reason for me to stay on was no more back spasms. I told the VA that I would get off the pill if I could transition to a hormone patch. I had educated myself I what I wanted thanks to videos like this one. I knew what I wanted for hormone replacement and I check the VA's formulary list before I went to my exam. I saw that the Combipatch was on the list, so that is what I was going to ask for. So I go to the appointment and told them what I wanted. Next thing I know they mail me an RX of Premarin. I was very angry. I called and they told me that the VA pharmacy doesn't have the Combipatch. I sent her the VA formulary list that had it on it. I was ready to go to battle, but fortunately they called the main pharmacy and learned that the Combipatch is on the list, but that they had never had anyone write an RX for it so it was not in stock anywhere. I got what I wanted. It is the Combipatch 50/250 estradiol/norethindrone. It is very easy to use, I change my patch Wednesday evening and Sunday morning. They stay on, so sports and swimming are good. I am 65 and play tennis everyday and have a ton of energy. I take the same hormones, and have for many years. What gene do you have that precludes you from taking HRT? Have you looked at the current research, or are you just afraid of a gene which may never cause a problem? I don’t know about you, but I would not want to live life feeling miserable, or put myself at high risk for osteoporosis, heart disease or dementia due to lack of hormones simply because I have a gene, but that is just me.

Hi ! I am starting back on some, kind of an old school clinic. I have a PALB2 gene. 🥲 But I have been on a mission. I agree with what you said!! 😊 Thank you. How about you?

If you are 58 and struggle with urinary infections, is it a need for hormones?

Absolutely not. I'm 59 and started 2 months ago. I didn't have many symptoms (that I knew of) but gave it a go and OMG, my sleep is so much better.
