So let me address this video as to why, I dIdn't get that they were time travelers, it may just be me but!. as a filmmaker watching this for the first time, I didn't felt the storyline was on point.. again! I'm talking about the mistakes on the production side "not" bashing on the talent, SB19 much props and respect to them for their success and hard work. I'm talking about the production side of things, some props was in the wrong time era with-in the period time (like what?!?), one of my viewers noticed this as well, shout-out to @martin4374, Example! the "Ghostbusters poster" and "pocket watch", was in the wrong era with in the period piece. As a filmmaker, I felt that during the transition of the time jump to a different era, there was no change in the music in causing a time jump to a different era and to how they got there and this is all the directors point P.O.V and i get that, so know wrong on their part again this is my reaction to the video. Also, at the end of the video, where they all in a different era? the set dressing wasn't enough to show me that. How mv are being made "now days" they jump from clip to clip showing different scene, looks and locations, and what I got was they were highlighting the 50s, 60s, 70's etc. and not them being time travelers, the main thing is, you all got the video😁
I don't hate your opinion sir... I'm here to explain why SB19 use smartphone in the Music Video so you have an idea what happen. About the lyrics: “This song is about reconnecting with people. It’s different when you go out, meet people, do interesting things - climb a mountain! I would give everything to go back to the situation before where you’re not worrying if someone coughs. The song is about going back to how it was: talking and meeting actual people, doing things together, just re-creating the feeling we had before.” About the Music Video: “Going back to the ’50s, ’70s, and ’90s eras, we researched how to show it visually and make people feel the nostalgia of things they kind of miss,” Justin explains. “We know that most of our fans are young, but we also want to reach those who experienced those times and tell young people these are the things they did. We didn’t have computers or cell phones; they’d go roller skating, enjoy parties, and hang out in the diners and arcades. Nowadays, we are kind of disconnected because of all the digital and, of course, the pandemic. It’s not just in the music video, but we are trying to connect SB19 with everything - including our tour.” The boys time travel across decades to share their story of disco love and connection. For this go around, the boys trade in their secret agent fits for leather, peace signs, and hair gel. The Jiren Christian Bacasano-directed video starts in a 60s diners with the group dressed as if they just stepped out of an adaptation of Grease. After they make their way through the diner, SB19 then moves to the 70s with all the staples present of the era, glitter, sparkles, roller blades, and wild hair courtesy of Josh, Stell, and Justin. If there’s anything you can say about SB19, it’s that they’re committed. Meanwhile, Ken was serving Elvis Presley with that up-do and fit. Finally, they move forward to the 90s as they dance and sing at the coolest arcade in town before ending in the present. Everything is built around the themes of time travel and connection. SB19 literally rode with joy through history with shiny, retro-spiked colors, and eye-catching visuals that match what the song is trying to say. The group cut across generations to remind you that connection is always possible no matter where you come from. And helping lead the MV’s vision was Justin who served as creative director, Stell who was lead choreographer, and the input of the other members as well. “Everything we put out is connected,” Justin says. “It all started from the teaser during the present day then we went back to the past, from the 50s (diner) to 70s (roller disco) to the 90s (arcade) and back to the present.” Please don't judge quickly on the production side and use your credible as a "filmmaker". I've seen many reactors Reaction Video that watching the Music Video "for the first time" and they noticed it's a "time travel".

As for the handphones, I believe other viewers already mention time travelling. From the 50s, 70s, 90s & back to the future. Also in present time in the mv, it's still pandemic. Hence you can see at the end they did their own things.
Yah! I can see that now, but!! watching it for the 1st time, to me I didn't get that they were time travelers, I saw that there were in different era, but it didn't dawn on me that they were time travelers, because with videos "now days", they have so many different clips and scenes with a different looks, if that makes since. hehe.. I noticed that too but that didn't make me think that they were time travelers.. as a filmmaker do you really want my honest opinion? I feel that they didn't give enough storyline for me to think that they were time traveler.. the director lack story telling. even at the end of the video someone said that they were all in a different era. I didn't see it.. the way it was shoot, I didn't feel that all of them were in a different era because there wasn't enough evidence with the set design or backdrop to make me think that they were all in a different era, the look of the scene, set design and back drop looked like the same era .. the way mv are shot now days having fast cuts, different location, different wardrobe and no continuity it makes it hard to see if there is a storyline especially if your lacking in story telling. don't get me wrong, I like the video and song but as a filmmaker I didn't see it that way. I appreciate your comments there is no right and wrong here, we both just see things differently. Stay safe and GOD bless.. Mahalo!🤙😁
I understand what you'r saying😊 but as a filmmaker watching this for the first time, I'm very detailed on storyline, it didn't give me enough on storyline and thats on the director vision not saying it was wrong, the talents was great!. It's not just the guys/visuals that fans are interested in. It's more than that. The entire video making process and the boys' contributions from songwriting to choreography and even creative direction piqued our interest. You will notice that the use of the phone in the entire video was deliberate so that should mean something (time travelling). The leader of the group, Pablo, wrote the song during lockdown. He stated that he missed his comembers and he also missed the opportunity to go out to do normal things like watching a movie. In a way, they 'went back to the past' to 'capture' memories involving the ability to socialize or hang out with friends and family.
I get it but not everyone is like you, .. and I'm not in any way talking down about the singers and the hard work that they put in, they are doing great, my props for all their success, but as a filmmaker I'm reacting to the production side, how the video was done, watching it for the first time, I didn't get that they were time travelers, even till the very end. With how mv are being made "now days" they jump from clip to clip with different scene, looks and location with no storyline, if that makes scenes. As a Pinoy, I give them much love and success.. Thanks for your watching and comment on my video. Have a wonderful and safe day. Take care & GOD Bless.. Aloha & Mahalo.🤙😁

Of course, people will have their own interpretations and we're cool with that. For me, it's the Ghostbusters poster that shouldn't have belonged there. As for the pocket watch, maybe the guy had his own reasons for having one (for example, I own a 100 year old rocking chair). Fans noticed that the hour hand on the watch was pointing at the numbers 8 and 10 and this can be interpreted as 18 or A'tin (the fandom name). Sir, If you reacted to SB19 please don't judge quickly because their songs have many meaningful lyrics and metaphors. People recognize them not because of their "looks or visuals", people recognize them because of their talent like vocals, dancing skills, lyricism and art of music. Art music is a term that describes any type of music that has a more complex structure than popular music and requires the listener to pay attention. In general, popular music is catchy and doesn’t require anything from the listener. Art music typically is an acquired taste where the listener must either study before valuing it or must listen attentively to appreciate it.
