Very informative video. I just order RK96 and plan to customize it later. So this video is helping me a lot! Thank you so much. :)) And your keyboard turned out amazing!
The space bar kills me😅 and even after you doing the mod it still kills me, I appreciate you making the video and I love the way the keyboard came out looking, I will definitely need see-through keycaps since I got the keyboard to improve my typewriting,
Just ordered a RK96. This will help out later when I modify my keyboard. This will be my first mechanical keyboard, so I will have to get some user time in before that.
Very cool. I have one of these (the black one) on the way, and I'm going to do a lot of the same mods you did. I'd highly suggest working on the stabilizers a bit too...holee mod + lube is ideal, but even lubing just the wires with dielectric grease will make a big difference in how they sound.
Well I have ordered one of the Limited Editions with blue frame and blue styled keycaps , but the problem is that they come with Outemu Yellow switches and I have read Horrible review for these switches . So thanks for showing how to upgrade it as I will need to change the switches and as I am doing that I will also do minor modifications
The link to the exact same keycaps doesn't seem to work? What type and style should i be looking for? I love the RK96 limited edition but i really miss illuminated keys. So i'm looking for similar illuminated keycaps. I understood that the RK limited edition keycaps were better that the standard royal kludge keycaps, so i'm looking for something of similar quality like the limited edition ones.
Thanks for the video! I am just getting interested in keyboard switches and was happy to discover that my Redragon K552 has a hot-swappable PCB! However, it lacks a num pad so not sure I want to invest in switches and keycaps for it or get something like the Royal Kludge RK96 or Havit KB487L. I'm looking to mod a keyboard with silent lightweight switches and low profile keycaps, because I often type during video chat sessions and want to keep things quiet on my end.
Do you have a firmware for the RK96? I accidentally updated mine with wrong the firmware, and now the Fn+Enter shortcut no longer shows the battery charge level.
The right ALT FN CTRL are 1U instead of 1.25 just like every other 1800/98% keyboard. Also the "0" for the numpad is 1U. So no, not standard. The regular keycap sets with 104 keys are not going to fit this.
@@Danko_HS In the video he had them fit though? Does this mean they will fit but may have a negative impact on functional button performance? Or is it more just visual spacing will be off
@@taimaishu99 By fit them you mean the Akko keycaps? Akko has keys in their keycap sets to fit most keyboard formats. They have both 1.25U and 1U keycaps for the bottom row. But most sets from Corsair, Razer etc have keys only for a standard keyboard format.
Great video, surprised to see this doesn’t have thousands of views. Top tier production quality and narration!

The sound improvement was huge!

I didn't know this one was offered in black. I've only found the white ones. Just finished modding mine today.
Thanks for the heads up!

A hhhhhhuge improvement after the mods🤠
quick research, what are your favourite switches?
Companies should make effective virtual keyboard. Those who doesn’t like key sound will love it I think.

Rk100 is worth taking in 2024? With $25? (Used)

Looks very cool after mod.
Is there any space to put some foam in? I'd like to dampen it even more
Hello,
Cna you paste here the exact model of keycaps you purchased. I could not find them. Thnak you!
I just bought this keyboard new to keyboard in general it sounds ok stick but where do I buy good stuff to make it better
Is there a program to sync the RGB with your mouse and PC case?
great video! Will be modding my keyboard as well... cheers!
what is the purpose of the masking tape process?
Very impressive, but how do you know which key is Page up or Page down now?
It sounds so good I'm crying cause I don't have budget. I'm drooling
can you change the color from blue to white?
Can this keyboard use Gateron Milky Yellow Switches?
Do you have a firmware for the RK96? I accidentally updated mine with wrong the firmware, and now the Fn+Enter shortcut no longer shows the battery charge level.
Hi, did you find a solution for this? Have you tried to reset the keyboard to factory settings?
Can you confirm, does the keyboard have a standard bottom row?

damn :( i just checked your link for the keycaps and that colour scheme is the only one they dont have :(
hey boss your stabilizers sound horrible . they needed to be modded and or replaced
Does this support screw in stabs
No, the PCB only supports plate mount
this is great video for me.
if u guys are lazy to mod a keyboard i recommend rk 98 its good even without mod
the diy keyboard scene has fucked keyboard pricing to no end. it's a sad state
i just wish they had a black one...of all color to not have, they took out the most common...
что-то никакой разницы в звучании не заметил
