Tiny Dancer by Elton John live (Piano transcription)

Probably one of the most well known songs by Elton and Bernie this instant classic comes from the Madman Across the Water album released in 1971. As I know it the song is about Bernie Taupin's girlfriend at the time which explains much of the lyric's meaning. Tiny Dancer was given another huge revival after the movie Almost Famous...which I still haven't seen! In the Key of C and mid tempo this isn't an altogether difficult song to play but Elton's piano playing may be difficult to mimic if you aren't familiar with his style.
With this video you'll see the chords as he plays them, the notes on a traditional sheet music grand staff, as well as a piano roll so you can see the notes as they appear on a keyboard. You are mostly hearing the piano that I have transcribed with a little of the vocal from the original audio. With the MIDI file included you can also trigger a sheet music application, slow down/speed up piano part without quality loss, change the key of the song, loop difficult sections, and much more!
For a quote on a transcription you would like for me to do just for you, email me here: chrisbarkersmusic@gmail.com
Due to copyright infringement issues and video blocking I am unable to create RUclips videos for many of the suggestions that I receive in the comments section. I do, however, create videos and MIDI files just like on my channel for clients who would like a specific piano part transcribed for any video or audio file!

For a rock song, the rate of chord changes is nothing short of stunning. Even in the apparently simple passages, when the piano melody sort of sounds like a rhythmic lullaby, the richness of variations and embellishments is masterful.

I agree, I love songs that were written on the piano. Guitar songs can be so repetitive and stale compared to songs like these. Thanks for watching.

I haven't seen anyone try tackling Where To Now Saint Peter, though it isn't exactly one of Elton's more popular songs. Wonder if you might that one a whirl.

Hi Chris! Thanks so much for the hard work you put into these transcriptions, they are great! I was wondering if you would be interested in finishing a transcription I have for a live version "Rotten Peaches"? Most of it is done, but some choruses lack a little finesse. If it sounds interesting, could you give me a way to contact you and send you the transcription, so you can take a look?

Hi Ken, I am so sorry I seemed to have overlooked this comment. I absolutely can do that although I'm not sure about doing a partial transcription. Honestly my transcriptions are pretty expensive compared to what you get on other sites. If you are looking for something that is going to translate into sheet music mine are not the best for that. If you want to be able to hear the piano alone that I have recorded into a MIDI format and also have a video just like you see on my channel here then I can definitely do that. If you want to have me give you a quote email the link to chrisbarkersmusic@gmail.com
      Thanks!

Thanks for the question! So I am only familiar with apple product but on the phone and laptop/desktop computers there is an option to slow down or speed up the video. If you are familiar with MIDI files it of course is the best way to rehearse, that does take some knowledge of the format however.
