There's ads with cropped porn, or scams. I guess the money's more important than having a site that's not super sketchy.

I noticed the money amount asked for ends in a "7". Scammers tend to do that.

@@angelzerv5121 apparently 7 is the most random number that people can think of. 2, 4, 6, 8 are even, too obvious, 0 and 1 are the first too so also too obvious, 9 is too close to 10, 3 is too low and 5 is right in the middle.
Ergo 7 to us humans seems like the most random number.

my dad told me a story about how, when he was young, on the back of his cereal box there was an ad that if you sent in $5 they would tell you how to get rich. He got his parents to send the money and he got a letter saying "Do as I do".

I always love watching videos about youtube ads because I have youtube premium so I literally have zero idea what's happening in the youtube ad space and somehow it almost always shocks me.

Liz Ard I still get advertised gift card scams on RUclips!!! I understand shitty youtubers doing it in their videos, but it should not be directly advertised to me. It’s been happening for years and I do not understand if youtube is just greedy and doesn’t care, or they don’t review what they’re advertising across the platform. And I don’t know which one is worse.
Edit: I just remembered, not only do I get advertised scams, but I’ve been advertised ads that will admit that they lied. I got a video this year that was claiming to have overwatch on iPhones, and then when you click on it they say it’s not available on phones. Which seems like that should be illegal.

Keep in mind that for the price Matt is offering for the course (roughly $1000) you could buy 1,136 Hershey bars, while still having change left over. That is all.
I once got an ad that was an entire movie it was literally the entire lego movie which I hadnt seen till then I enjoyed it but forgot what I was watching before the ad. It was skippable but honestly thats the only ad I have seen that was any good
I'm pretty sure they did that on April fools, wish I got the ad tbh but it was all online about everyone getting the ad
Sometimes they do that when a second film is coming out and they have the first as ads on RUclips. Nit only does it feel special, but it can be doubly effective if people tweet: hey, I just had the full xyz movie as an ad on RUclips!!!1!!

Do people actually fall for the “take my class on x to become a master and earn y!” Because they’re blatantly scams. Also imagine being so lazy that you would rather hire people to write scripts, do voiceovers, and editing your videos?
I think they are which is really sad because if you spend more than 5 minutes thinking about it you'd have to go: "Why is it so expensive if he's making so much money from what he has been saying? He theoretically shouldn't need it so he could make the price affordable"
He is probably having his ad running 1000's of times, and if he just gets 1 sale per 10 to 15 ads he will be making a lot of money, and once these scams have got you, they feed you their next course to take. I think the return rate for email scams is 7% and they know if you are willing to pay them once, there is a good chance you will give them more money.
having never bought into any of those, I have to assume the product you get is just a single page saying: “just tell people you have the answer to getting rich quick and charge them to see this page, worked for me”

RUclips is so focused on leg sweeping their own creators that they don't even have a proper system in place that evaluates an ad for either being false advertising or potentially damaging toward their websites image and users.

fun fact many people ignore is that the ads you see as an individual aren't related to the content creator you're watching but rather that's what the algorithm thinks YOU would click on, an ad is not an endorsement by the youtuber, its about you. also amanda you can block specific ads from appearing on your videos if there is any but you need the url of the ad to block it.
RUclips running ads telling people how to cheat the RUclips system is peak irony.

I get soooo many mentorship ads. Mostly ones based around dropshipping for amazon and shopify selling. Some for trading and investing in stocks. All of them by a toddler using a hired plane and car and filmed from a balcony at a rented apartment on the beach. 💁♀️

I started my own youtube channel, been uploading consistently for a bit now to take it seriously, and it really does suck that I put in work---- and yet low quality vids can just skyrocket with nonsense through theft, and all the straight up theft, and blackmail, and hacking is making youtube a very spooky place to be upload now. am I the only one who gets the same ads over and over and over but it's never anything crazy
like my ads would be like: foodpanda, takeaway, etoro, spotify, RUclips and that's it, I rarely see ads that are like promoted videos on the platform and I never see political ads
I once sat in on one of those "get rich quick" scheme webinars. It was put on by a couple that claimed to be doing very well on etsy. Two things I picked up before I stopped watching: 1. they wanted you to buy a video course from them 2. literally everything they said in regards to the tips and tricks they did "cover" were LITERALLY provided FOR FREE from ETSY themselves. None of their tricks were new. You didn't need to pay for their course. All you had to do was go to whichever of etsy's articles covered the topic you were interested in

I just wanna say as soon as your video blacked out to end I got an ad for a webinar telling me how to quit my job and join the 1400 people to get bank on using a cell phone working part time and I died laughing 😂 driving in my truck hearing you explain how these ads are targeted to us from our content selection and then BAM 💥 this shit shows up.
I encountered an ad that was over 55 minutes long one day.
I never turn off adblock on my devices but every time i see those types of get rich scam ads I get so annoyed.

All the ads ive been getting are so shitty. Been getting the same tik tok ad where they just show a tik tok of how to draw a raindrop, a few different homemade “ill teach you how to get rich” ads, and one asking me if I want a free tim hortons gift card within the next 5 minutes
to be honest, I remember a time (not too long ago) every video on YT was bombarded with these entrepreneurial ads ranging from Amazon drop shipping to "Hacks" to success... I mean it got so repetitive that I just stopped logging on YT for a while.
Oddly enough, i got an ad on this video for training on how to advertise on youtube. An ad advertising ads as the best way to advertise.

I just got an ad for this video, teaching me how to spy on my rivals business ads methods.
I’ve gotten really disturbing ads recently and a few I couldn’t skip for some reason. I got an ad that I thought was a Christian ad promoting their church, but nope, it was a very strange pro-vegan ad that claimed that the earth is dying, and that if you do not become vegan instantly, you will die. They also talked a lot about spiritual connections and other random things, but the worst part of the ad was that they played literal uncensored videos of cows being butchered, killed, etc. I have no idea how that ad was allowed, luckily I have not seen it in awhile, but I’ve gotten that ad so many times and it was highly disturbing

What I dont understand is why they removed the option to report ads on videos or on the home screen. The amount of times I get big tiddy anime girl dating sites or Indian dating sites. I fully agree that the ads need vetting wayyyyyy more or at least the option to report inappropriate ones or ones that are really questionable

Clearly RUclips is asleep at the wheel. I don't do video ads because I hate when a 15 minute video pops up when I'm watching a video, so I wouldn't want to do that to someone else, but I have done the thumbnail ads that appear in the right-hand column and I used to get ads declined for a plethora vague reasons that I couldn't find when reviewing my videos, so I don't know how this guy gets away with a video ad telling people to steal other videos. That's crazy!

Because of the Adpocalypse and it's sequels causing so many companies to scale back or completely abandon advertising on RUclips Google stopped caring what the ads are. As long as the check clears
RUclips costs an indescribable amount of money to operate. Alphabet is basically a transfer of wealth from Adsense to RUclips, on the same scale as Niagra Falls is a transfer of water from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario.
