As a greatsword main who was a bit disappointed with the weapons trailers. You have restored my faith brother! This looks SO good. I considered swapping mains for the first time, but not anymore!
Someone got 4'50"92 with GretSward as well. It looks so refinded from the trailers like you said. I'm ready to face tank Rey Dau and the World 2..........pun intended
What this is teaching me is that I should just Rising Slash basically all the time even if I'm not going to end up clashing with it. Didn't realise it did that much damage on its own.
Yeah it's a very strong option all around, I like using it after strong slash when I want to keep attacking but don't want to go into tcs or use the wide slash, but keep in mind there are going to be monsters with much harder hitting moves and going for the rising slash all the time might not always be the best choice in those scenarios
@@Tidz13 Yeah. I can only imagine there will be other sets that provide more damage mitigation from offsets so you can use them on harder hitting moves
Thankgod. As a MH3 and MH4U player I was so irked by the huge obsession with the shoulder tackle/ slinger shot TCS meta in world. Now it looks like its usage will be limited to when the monster is inactive or downed for extended periods of time, which is such a great compromise.
so the meta changes to just overusing a better, and by the looks of it, easier move to use that just hits through everything. Not much of a difference really. It's still massively reliant on abusing tackle.
@@bladechild2449Moveset has way more variety in wilds now compared to world or especially sunbreak. You are actually using things other than tcs now lol
TCS spam is not nearly as prevelant in world as some people think bruh, you still use charged draw slash or strong charged slash more often especially when it comes to the monster you are fighting, with the addition of slinger burst it is even common to see normally unused GS moves too like side blow, wide swing, and rising slash since they can all chain into slinger burst. Rise on the other hand, yeah strong arm counter spam is busted and much more easily spammable
@@jahovah2979 Let me reword it differently. Since the high damage from TCS has been diverted to other moves in its toolkit, you're now more rewarded if you use moves aside from TCS. My main problem is that the power ratio too heavily favours a single move, so the current restructuring of power in its kit rewards taking advantage of smaller opportunities even more so than in World. That philosophy is shared with MH4U, and is why I highlighted that game, since its most powerful attacks were the first and second charge attacks, with the followup slash right after. Ofcourse those attacks were also worth doing depending on the time window given in World, but the fact that they're stronger in Wilds with TCS being nerfed, means that you're mathematically not as reliant on TCS. That's what I meant.
@@thepokebw10 ic what you mean, still a shame though since tcs IS supposed to be the biggest baddest move one can do, only being saved for large openings or knockdowns with the 1st and 2nd charge being more common, it being more accessible but weaker now is a bit sad but ig its fine, just going to miss worlds TCS with all its reward if you finesse it into an opening, doesnt help that the effects are just a bit lacking compared to worlds. Idk if its the sounds or there not being crit particles yet. Or maybe the big powered tcs red slash effect only happening when the blade hits the ground not when it hits the monster like in world? The offset rising slash is definitely dopamine inducing for sure tho and overall its wayy better than rises where it feels theres very little impact
Honestly the beta's performance is much better than World's beta on the PS4. But I still played the game on resolution mode as the game looks extremely beautiful. Can't wait to test it out on PC to see if my rig can run it properly

this is the best its looked imo
I'd gladly take less total TCS damage for more consistent TCS's
@Smorccc but when you play, it wont be like this? lol. There would be more falling around and missing all shots!!
Not relying on TCS every single time is so freaking GOOD!!! waiting for the PC beta to test it but it already seem awesome!! GGs
Sir you dropped this👑👑👑 I have been waiting for a good GS speedrun
3:47 Offset slash into the tornado slash then evade is so cool!
Greatsword my beloved...
Yeah GS gameplay has evolved, it just looks more dynamic
Congratulations! I think this is the best time ive seen for a rey dau hunt with ANY weapon
It's one of the fastest I've seen, but I recently saw a charge blade one around 5:08 long

Was really saddened by the tcs nerf/damage bug.
Looks like combining the offset slash into tornado will be the way to go.
すごい。天才。
相殺切り上げって結構いろんな技がきても対応できるんだ!?すごい!
もうワイルズに順応してる…
ok i've seen everything i needed, time to keep GS

The animations look so similar, but something about the actual hits with GS feel like they have much less impact in Wilds compared to World.
They nerfed the impact of the TCS. Hopefully they bring it back cause it's not as satisfying as in worlds 😅
1:24 Some things never change I guess xD
4:37 they never really do
Nice run ✌️
These keep on improving...
4:45 daymmm!
Hopefully other weapons too! Thank you for the amazing clear
that focus made really makes GS OP now
dang that is a quick time
Amazing

Not only can you release big damage hits, but you can also move faster
Charge Upswing Slash, thats what im talking about!!!
So cool
Rising slash = Rules of nature
Could this be faster with a secondary weapon to provide Attack buffs?
You can use hunting horn to buff yourself and change to your main weapon
4:46 Awesome
good job!!!
All this weapon needs is just some improvement on how it feels and it’ll be amazing.
Flash pods definitely getting nerfed in expansion
Like in world. They nerfed it in iceborne.
Is it just me or do the impacts of the hits feel less meaty than world?
the true charge slash has been sadly nerfed, the counter became the new "true charge slash"
What exactly was nerfed. Did they nerf the motion value or something
@ThatsOk83 it's the damage from what i've heard considering how easier it is to use it from different attacks , like focus mode or the counter
はやすぎね?
sugoi
So the rising slash clashes and counters?
Daaaaaaaamn
Is it not worth it to use the new focus attack to break wounds?
Wow!
good
If you fight near a tree, will the trap activate automatically without having to press a O button?
Yes.
No more slinger burst?
Yes😢
