- A new Suzuki Swift has just landed in SA and we have all the latest information on this popular little car, including what you'll have to pay for a new one. Refreshingly, the price hasn't moved too much at all.
Fiat have facelifted the Fiat 500 (again) and we have the pricing for you, as well as news that the all-electric Fiat 500 has been confirmed for SA.
And lastly Dave takes a look at why the petrol price has been decreasing so drastically, which is just about the best news we could have hoped for.

Suzuki Swift could have come in price unchanged or even cheaper due to Rand strength. If the currency remains strong and manufacturers put up their prices you know they are taking you through wringer.

You'd have to be out of your mind to throw R300k away by buying a FIAT 500. They're absolute rolling piles of crap. They sold something like 40 odd cars in the USA for a whole year. 🤭🤭🤭
When the new Mini came out I thought wow it looks like a Swift now the new swift is here and it looks like the new Mini on the front!😅

Swift: I would have thought fewer cylinders would produce more torque for the same displacement. Maybe it'll show up more torque in the lower rpm range 🤔

Reviews from overseas say this 3 cylinder on the Swift is smooth and has a good engine note. Like Honda Suzuki know how to make engines. Dont think Ford Ecoboost 3 cylinder which is one of the worst production engines ever made.
Can you even believe it that even renowned brand like BMW , Mercedes and Audi all have ventured into that territory of 3 cylinders engine
@@mandlalloyd6174 Yes they ''renowned'' for expensive troublesome cars. Gone of the days when luxury was build quality and durability. Its all about features and tech now. No wonder the Chinese are eating their lunch.
Watching international channels regarding the new Suzuki 3-cylander engine: I believe the intention behind it is in its pairing with an electric motor as a hybrid vehicle. I haven't heard any South African reporters yet talking about the hybrid design, so I assume for the moment we are just getting the engine part 😅 It makes me wonder whether the hybrid vehicle is too expensive for our market, or whether we are the guinea pigs to test the new engine.

I owned two Fiat 500's. An Abarth 595 and 500C 1.4. I had ZERO breakdowns in the 6- and 5.5 years I had those vehicles. Just saying. These cars are very well manufactured.
The entry model for the new Swift is a GL spec vs. the GA spec for the current model.
I would prefer a 4-cylinder over a 3-cylinder engine, but apparently fuel economy is much better with the new engine.
Glad to see Suzuki has gone back to using a proper temperature gauge on the new model, plus there is finally a driver's left footrest. Also good to see proper door handles for the rear doors. That said, the new one is not that attractive - buying would be a case of function over form.

I'd rather buy a new Baleno GL or lightly used GLX than the new Swift GLX. A bigger car and bigger engine for the same money. It's funny that the market value for my 2022 Baleno GLX is the same money as what I paid for it in 2022.
