Quick tip for when you're playing Journey mode and using the research mechanic... Once you get one silver, you can simply put down a crafting table, turn your 1 silver into 100 copper and research that. You can then duplicate your copper to get 100 silver, which you then research. Do the same for gold and platinum. And you can just duplicate as much platinum as you will ever need. Also fun with the coin gun.
The problem is that the max stack of any coin other than platinum is 100, so to go from 1 silver to platinum you need to decraft the silver, unlock copper coin duplication, duplicate 100 stacks of them and convert them to silver coins to unlock silver duplication, duplicate 100 stacks of them and convert them to gold to unlock gold and then duplicate 100 stacks of them to unlock platinum. It's a lot of tedious work and it's much easier to get your hands on any resource with any value, duplicate a stack of 9999 of them, sell them immediately unlocking gold if not platinum, buy piggy bank, duplicate 9999 of them, sell to unlock platinum.
In my first playthrough I did it with coral, in my second I just had the 1 gold required to unlock the merchant, bought the piggy bank and went straight to the last point.
Nice challenge! I love Journey mode, when it came out I thought it's not for me like other creative modes in other games, but Journey still requires you to prove that you can gather enough resources before duplicating and mostly just eliminates the grind that is the worst part of the game.
Pro tips for Journey: - you can shift+click with the research thingie open to quick-research - on higher difficulty levels it's often not worth trying to research 10 heart crystals, just use them and live longer to achieve more, including find more of them faster - cans of worms contain golden worms, which gives you early access to a 50% fishing power bait and the best food in existence, Golden Delight - herb bags contain all herbs and will alleviate a lot of the PITA of gathering enough of them - the above 2 can be shimmered into each other, so unlocking one unlocks the other as long as you have access to Shimmer - generally Shimmer is the MVP
@@glemp1854 I think with some adjustments you could get pretty far. House with walls, very careful tunneling down (walling off sides) to speed run a lava bucket so you can make a lava trap to farm on the surface, and I guess just not being so unlucky as to spawn directly on top of the underground desert.
"Die worthless scum!"
I hate those things lmao

The guide is dead. Long live the guide.
And to think ... everyone used to hate the guide as a joke. The Guide has a future ahead of him, man!
