- We at V-103 have been lucky enough to have several present and former members of the TLC brand come forward to speak about topics surround VH1's CrazySexyCool. Today on Egypt In The Middays, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes's younger sister, Reigndrop, stopped by to clear up a few misconceptions and to tell us what kind of person her sister really was.

"Ain't Too Proud To Beg" was their first single Reindrop, "Oooooh On The TLC Tip" was the album and T-Boz and Chilli said that Left Eye named All 4 Albums and designed their costumes ect. They said how involved she was, so since you're hearing stuff from the fans, watch some of TLC interviews with and without Left Eye and you'll see how much they credit her.
There is a difference between how lisa's family saw Left Eye and How TLC saw Left Eye. They wanted to portray lisa the way TLC Saw her.
Exactly if they was asking for Lisa lopes then that's different but they asking about left eye

Honestly from watching this i feel like chilli and T-boz knew Lisa lopes more than her little sister. Like lets be honest who knows more of your secrets you best friend or a little sibling of yours?

I agree...also the sister is beautiful, and im sure she knows some things, but to me I bet she was super young and didn't really understand dealings, and the things that were going on business, music and all that. TLC traveled together, practiced together, so I am sure that being jammed that close for so long during stressful, happy, angry, times I would think you would get to see someones true colors. Now with that said, I also think they emblished in the movie because its tv. I think that lil mamma did an AMAZING AMAZING job...and also the sister here is saying after tlc was signed, left eye moved her whole family to her....well if she was making only 25 dollars a week after just singing, how would that work? How would she have money to do that on that type of money?? That's another thing in the movie, I think was false about them getting 25 dollars a week

+TheBookWorm1718 Just because they didn't want to go to Honduras, doesn't mean they were doing it out of malice, or that they weren't close. I wouldn't have wanted to go either. Lisa was going for, sometimes, over 20 days. Not everyone is looking for spiritual rejuvenation. But, let's be real. Even in "regular society", we spend more time with our coworkers everyday than we do our own families, so I would bet Lisa spent more time during those years with TLC than her own family. I'm sure the industry made them dislike each other at times (as it has done with EVERY female group), but they still loved each other.

I read this interview a few months ago and was just floored. She really opened up about her whole life and experiences. It really made me see through her eyes what really happened. If you ask me, this interview would be a great script for a movie just about Left Eye.

With all due respect to the Lopez family, and to the memory of Lisa"Left Eye" Lopez. There were a lot of things missing out of that script. If they had made the movie that Reigndrop suggested, that movie would have been longer than Titanic. Give Lisa's,and TLC's fans a little credit. Nobody that followed her career thought that she was selfish, and personally, I did not take that from that movie. I saw a young women in a trio of strong young women who was fighting to be heard; end of story. Hollywood is going to always make a project that is going to look out for their bottom line. Which means that somethings where changed, some where left completely out(Did you guys notice that after Chilli broke up with Dallas Austin, they just said that she was single, and didn't in anyway mention that that was when she hooked up with Usher. Probably because that's a whole movie unto itself.) and somethings that you might not want to be, get emphasized for dramatic effect. The same thing happened with the Temptations movie. The Ruffin family were in and uproar when it came out over how David Ruffin's death was depicted in the movie, and filed a lawsuit. They didn't even bring up the fact that the reason that Paul Williams was so sick and had to leave the group was because, like Tionne Watkins, he too suffered from Sickle Cell Anemia, they just depicted him as a fall down drunk and left it at that .Before Lisa's family signed off on those contracts; instead of expecting to be kept in the loop, they could have, and should have demanded it as part of the deal. "If I sign off on this, I want to be there through the whole process because I want to make sure that your portrayal of my love one, who is no longer here to defend any of it, is accurate,and puts those situations in the best light as possible, or no deal." What were they going to say,"No"? You can't tell TLC's story without talking about Left Eye's contributions, and some of the crazy shit she did during the span of the groups career as a trio;You can't.

Yes your right but the movie is only showing that side of her and Left eye was much more than that is what lil sis is saying. The sister did say she was around TLC and saw things and she cleared up why Left eye made the decisions she made because the movie shows her just having an bad attitude.
The idea to record 3 albums at one time to get out of their recording contract was brilliant! I can believe that Left Eye came up with that solution. After all she was the one who broken down the bankruptcy in dollars & cents and a creative genius.
To eradicate all of the dumb ass statements...... If this was your sister and you KNEW first hand that there were things said about her that were inaccurate, would you keep quiet and appreciate people saying you need to "Mind your own business" etc. Those saying those things sound so ignorant. Especially given most of those saying these things are newly hipped to TLC, did not grow up during this era and clearly do not know what the truth is. Furthermore, if you have to take a clandestine route to do something, you probably should not be doing it. YES, Lisa's mother and family should have been consulted because Tionne and Chilli's mother were consulted!!! Like make some damn sense please. COMMON sense. Lisa is not here which is furthers the fact that her family should have been involved. Mama Lopes had an almost fatal car accident and has not heard from any of these so called "sisters" who PROMISED they would ALWAYS be there for her family and YES, I know for a fact and not just GOOGLE or a MOVIE.
Thank you for seeing it for what it was. The movie was good, but facts are facts. Lisa deserves so much more. And I will take all the backlash to stand up for my sis. ;)
Ok Reigndrop you stated Lisa didn't adopt Snow but she made it clear that she did when she was on the tv show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." Who's accurate?

Lisa's sister is only a few years younger than her. I don't know where people are getting this "Tionne and Chilli would know her better because she was young" blase skip. Furthermore, TLC worked together. They did not hang together on personal levels.
Thank you. Lisa was NEVER on friendly terms with Rozanda or Tionne..this was more a business deal amongst the three of them. Each three had there own personal lives and friends.

Antonia B. That's not true they only met in forming TLC and while they were certainly closer than Lisa and Chilli, the only person who Lisa grew up "like sisters" with was her little sister Raina. (Also Raina wasn't even super young. She's only two years younger.)

I know they did a tlc behind the music but maybe the family should do a Left eye behind the music? I seen the left eye documentary and the biopic. Unfortunately the movie wasn't long enough to go into depth on many things. I know Lisa wrote a lot of the music and had a lot to do with creativity. She was an amazing person and we miss her very much.
In a way I can kind of understand how Lisa's family could have been left out... This was a TLC movie about the GROUP! All 3 of there struggles collectively.. Who else could tell the story about the group like the actual members? Be real no one is 100 percent the same way with heir family as they are with their friends! I personally did not enjoy the movie. Seems to me Chilli had more creative control in it than anyone else. Majority of the movie was about her and her relationship with Dallas Austin. The only thing it talked about with T-Boz was her sickle cell anemia, and I would have liked to see more on Left eye! I rate this movie 3 stars (and I'm being generous here.)
I kinda agree, however I enjoyed the movie, but I found chilli storyline giving me a headache and wanted it to end. I really would have loved if they showed more on lefteye as well but I know they could not go completely go in depth with her because she is not hear to backup anything especially her abusive relationship with andre that is why it was shown very little.

vdw8420031 BUT her sister is here who was actually there on the night of the fire. Her uncle Kyle Young is here who was there on the night of the fire. Hell, even ANDRE is here and even though their relationship was tumultuous him and Lisa actually reconciled before her death (which we all know she and Chilli didn't). They could've gotten in touch with people that knew Lisa on that level if they were actually interested in telling the truth and representing her in her parts.

The movie wasn't about Lisa solely, but Reign continues to make remarks as if it should've been calle the Left Eye story. I think we all got the gist of who Lisa was, before the movie dropped. So we didn't need to see her cutting up clothes to know she was the back bone behind most of the fashion. Hello, she created the girl group Blaque. They had LEFT EYE written all over them. Interesting she sided with Pebbles, but that's only because she's angry at the other group members, for what she of course will not directly say. The next time she dares to give an interview, she should be willing to talk about everything. Not just bits and pieces of the fluff stuff. She said nothing....ugh.

This mess always happens every time they do a movie about a "true story". "That wasn't her she was never like that" "He didn't say that" "He didn't do that", "that didn't happen" etc Of course it's not going to be "accurate" its a movie, which should be convincing but not taken for reality. LOL!!
At the end of the day its just a damn movie. The movie made millions of fans fall in love with them again, their good side and bad side. None of them were perfect. They all aired dirty laundry in the movie. It was not a Lets Pick on Lisa movie.

To Reigndrop. As a tlc fan that watched the movie there wasn't any thing that i saw that made me feel like left eye was a selfish person. Second if your brother is not head of the estate then he should say so,and say who is. Clear it up.I can't imagine there being any backlash for that. your real issue with the movie is that you feel left eye wasn't praised enough. And with all due respect for her,cause i love her,the movie wasn't for that purpose. Realistically it was just an extended version of their behind the music. Hopefully, you and the other ladies can sit down and have a conversation and resolve whatever conflict there may be. . My aunt went to funeral in lithonia. My family knew her from the group home for teens. Everytime I see a pic I begin to tear like I feel her spirit. Good interview and stay strong left eye sister.

honestly from what I heard her say, I don't see anything wrong with the movie, all the stuff she said they left out was either actually in the film, or just really minor... i just think she's annoyed that they didn't let her and her family get involved in the movie... which they didn't have a right to anyway, cus like it or not, the movie was about tlc from the views of t-boz and chilli. no one else.
As a fan of left eye I do not feel the movie damaged her character in any way... it portrayed her as the smart talented creative force of the group and later in tlc yrs she wanted to do her own thing... Even Left eye admitted to growing apart from the group so to me it sounds as if lil miss raindrop wants to boost her career by complainin about the story Tboz and Chilli told in regards to their feelings on what they experienced as group memebers.... lil miss raindrop was a part of left eyes life as her sister not a tlc group memeberso she doesn't know facts she wasn't there for every meeting event show etc... I'm sorry

Truth be told, I can see Lisa's family not wanting to show Lisa and her struggles and wanting to make everything seem smooth, but truth is truth and I know it may sting to see it, but remember these things mostly played out in the media. I was in NC when Lisa challeneged T and C and when they could not get together to do a group interview for the radio stations while they were here on tour. There was drama and Lisa loved publicity! Tbh Reigndrop needs to form her own rap group cuz despite her odd, sometimes confrontational, personality... She is actually a pretty good MC in her own right, but the music is totally different from Lisa's music, Reigndrop has a rock edge on a majority of her songs, and girl needs to come out with an album already.
How somebody get you to sign paperwork for YOUR sister likeness,she signed paperwork because she wanted the money!! Reigndrop and Pebbles need to get their lies together, Reigndrop says Left-Eye came up with the way TLC dressed, Pebbles said on Wendy, she came up with the way TLC dressed... Don't be shooked if Pebbles and Reigndrop team up to try to sue TLC but trust me, they won't win, VH1 covered their back before the movie came out!!!

Its interesting that you actually watched the movie. I had no interest in watching it so I have no clue how Lisa Lopes was portrayed. But its obvious the movie was only made to get Tionne and Roaznda back in the much spotlight and sort of reviatalize their careers. Now those two are starting to tout this spring and a new cd is currently in the works.

Why would TLC talk to Left Eye's family about TLC business? Honestly? Left eye made it very clear that when she was alive that she wasn't all that close with her family. TLC was her family. This movie was all about TLC not Left eye's family members who are thirsty for a check! Reigndrop get ya life and take several seats! Lil Momma killed that role and brought Left Eye back to life!!!

Lisa was the creative force behind TLC once she died the group was not the same
Apparently one of the main issues Lisa was having was she felt being in TLC she was not getting the appreciation and recognition she deserved. After the brilliant first cd (A Hip Hop Rap Cd) the focus turned more to Tionne's singng and vocals and you heard less and of Lisa rapping on the next cd's....she didn't even really record that much in the studio with the group because Debra Killing was brought to provide more authentic vocal harmonizing. That what the issues were. And although her sister as younger than her and not around the scene that much. Rain Drops knew what was going on. For example she mentioned the fact that Lisa did put tape over her mouth on the "Creep" video set because she did not agree with the message. Also Lisa DID not want to tour the Fan Mail because she being more businesslike had the theory that touring was not TLC's greatest agenda..she figured they would loose money and the tour would not sell. She was right. The TLC was playing in huge non nba arenas with seating up to 14,000 and they were only drawing crowds up to 3000. Only two shows sold out Atlanta and New York City so they lost a lost of money.

I have a different opinion....She knew a lot about the situation with TLC cause Lisa shared a lot of drama with her family...who were living in Atlanta at the time.
I know this comment is old but I researched the Fanmail tour. It started off shaky cause of poor marketing and promotion, a lot of people/fans found out late or wasn't aware that TLC was touring. During mid tour it gained traction and had great reviews, by the end it generated about 75 million. TLC would've earned more money if they took the tour overseas but since they wasn't getting along at that time it was canceled.
I mean was Lisa really close to her family like that? Also, TLC owns TLC, so they don't have to discuss a thing with the family, because the family wasn't a part of TLC.

I live this interview. Lisa's sister was great. One thing about Lisa Lopes..its obvious that she didn't have really any "long term" or "regular" friends (Like Rozanda Thomas) and it was great that a family member spoke out in her behalf. I wish there was one close friend of hers that commented.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, this movie was 10x better than the last movie VH1 released, with Flex Alexander as Michael Jackson in "Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story"

I personally feel no side should be taken and no person should be said they are a liar for telling what they felt was their side of the story. While watching many interviews, T-boz and Chili have never stated that the story they told was untrue. They simply stated they are telling their side of the story and how they felt about the situation. As far as the statement VH1 made, this was for legal reasons. If they express to the public that everything in the movie was true, with them themselves not knowing the entire truth but taking information from one source, they put themselves in a predicament to be sued by anyone portrayed in the movie that feels otherwise. Therefore, they did that to cover their butts from the opportunity of lawsuits against them. As far as Reigndrop Lopes, she is telling what she knows and how she feels about her sister and her family, just as everyone has the right to tell their side of the story. Overall, I feel that no one but the individuals involved know the real story which means none of us know what really happened because we weren't there to witness it ourselves and know the full truth of everything. Therefore we should respect everyones individual opinion because we don't know who is right or wrong.
Her brother is handling the business that involves left eye in everything this poor girl is using this as a platform to get up there it's sad she's just talking from her ass disappointing
They definitely portrayed left eye in a horrible way in that movie . Every 5 seconds in that movie she was lashing out , cursing people out , fighting and shit . They made her look horrible. Why didnt they show how sweet and caring she was ??
Im a fan of TLC and was an even huge fan of Lefteye and I know that Reign was around for alot of things that took place. I stumbled across a photo of Lisa, Reign, and Andre Risen.
Tionne and Rozanda wanted to tour for the "FanMail" Tour but Lisa was against it and wanted the trio to juts do a live pay per view concert in which they would get millions and milions of fans to tune in that way instead. But Lisa compromised ONLY for the fans but she did not agree with the other two.

Why is everyone trashing Reigndrop? If that was your sister or brother you would do the same thing! Tboz and Chilli was only around Lisa when they worked together. Yes, they knew lisa as a member of TLC. But Reigndrop was with Lisa from the beginning and to the end.
The movie is about TLC not TLC and their families. T-Boz mother was in the movie because she helped her fight with sickle cell, Chili's mother helped her with the abortion and the baby. So why would lisa's family be there and not saying that her sister doesnt know anything but just because she acted one way around you doesnt mean thats how she acted on set. Like you werent apart of the group so you really dont know. The story is told from their point of view and how they saw lisa. You cant say that their point of view isnt true because its THEIR point of view. i think she should just stop stirring up stuff and let her sister rest in peace.
Zurii Allen Lefteye's family helped her get through many personal issues as well. She was in an abusive relationship and she had issues with TLC itself and would vent to her family. Them excluding the family basically excluded Lisa's side of the story from being told so that they could play her off as "crazy" and whiny.

Its thre sides to story. The only thing im going by what actually was done and said out her own mouth in her interviews and documentary. Good interview I wish they would of left that movie along because all of this mess would not be started. Lisa was a genuine loving person who love kids. My dad was cool with her back then in atlanta when he met her in the group home in his teen years and they still remain friends and she came by and seen me as a baby

I dont think that people feel Lisa was selfish or anything because most people remember her from how she was back in the day, and not based on the movie. With that being said, Tionne and Chilli shouldn't be all at fault for what they put ino the movie because it has to be hard choosing what to put into a movie that a couple of ours what is based on many years. Also, its portrayed from Tionne's and Chili's point of view, not everyone is going to see the same thing 24/7.

In 2000 Lisa Lopes did an exclusive interview with Jamie of Sister 2 Sister,...that was in which she discussed the problems in TLC. She mentioned both Tionne and Rozanda were nothing more than "haters" and that she was against the "Fanmail" tour cause she knew it wouldn't sell. It was huge loss for them and they didn't make ANY money off it. They were playing in Mid Sized (NON NBA ARENAS) of 12,000 - 15,000 capacity but were playing to crowds of about 3000. Touring was never something that TLC made money off.

Alright, no disrespect to Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes or the Lopes family, but from what I gathered here.. Reigndrop is talking like she wanted Lisa to be the star of the movie. As appealing as that sounds, there are TWO other initials in TLC and TWO other girls those initials belong to. The whole movie was not going to be about Left Eye, and Left Eye herself wouldn't have appreciated herself taking all the spotlight of a movie like her sister is trying to get on about.

I believe there is a misunderstanding what I got from this interview was that Lisa family should've had input in what should have been public or private and I do agree that Lisa's estate should get fair residuals as well as her estate should've had an attorney discuss with VH1 that they want to approve all things pertaining to Lisa's portrayal trgoughout.
It's clear that Reindrop did not know all the details of the "signed release" and should've been informed prior to going public.
She could not answer if they received money for the movie because her brother controls left eye's estate. You see he's not making comments because he knows the business of it and what really goes down. She does not. I understand her frustration but I also feel there is a lot she truly does not know. It's her perspective of events and Chilli and Tboz have the right to share their perspective.
People in Left Eye's family are on different wavelengths. I think the lack of communication on the family's part is what is the most mind boggling.
With all due respect to Reigndrop and the rest of the Lopes family...I completely empathize with the family wanting to make sure that the facts about Lisa are accurate. HOWEVER, it is not possible to know every detail of your loved one's life. We wear many different faces in many different aspects of our lives. In other words...Those girls (TLC) spent a lot of time together, so TBoz and Chili gave a depiction of the Left Eye THEY KNEW. And as a fan I was VERY proud of how Lisa was portrayed.
Another thing that uspet Lisa was that she wrote 9 songs for the Fanamil Cd and all NINE were rejected by LA Ried. But Dallas Austin wrote a lot of music and they submitted that. Also Tionne wrote material that was submitted as well as Kandi Buruss. Sometimes artists feel really upset about that because they want the fans to know they can write music and give ideas on what THEY WANT to talk about.

Lisa's sister needs a reality check. This was a movie about TLC not Lisa and her family. Also, TLC didnt write the script a script writer did. All Tionne and Chilli did was tell the script writer stories about their career and she made it into a script. Everything wont be spot on because at the end of the day it's a movie and it is entertainment.
I agree, notice how she didn't say how young she was, agree was probably 14 when left eye died so age pRobably was too young to even understand. And I never thought Lisa was selfish from watching the movie. She was just tryna Make it and pebbles kinda messed that up for them. Even in vh1 behind the music they had actual video of lisa talking about pebbles and they all pretty much felt the same way about her. And I feel like tboz and chili were her age and probably knew more about her as sisters. They didn't want tall to be a part probably because y'all were going to be too emotional and that's not a bad thing. When family members die. We want to make them seem perfect which is fine but that's probably not good for the movie.
Exactly. There was even a scene where they went to get the condoms and Left Eye asked if they had any in poka dots. Lol. Left Eye was a real G. She seemed like a great person.
i think its terrible that the lopes family was left out of the creative process. i enjoyed the film, and i love tboz and chilli , but while watching i did notice that they seemed to downplay and even trivialize some of left eyes motives/ feelings etc. its a known fact that left eye was the creative muscle behind the group, and her reasoning for not liking "creep" wasnt just simply bc they didnt use her ideas, it was bc she didnt like the message that the song was sending and didnt think that it empowered her female listeners.
Lil Mama did discuss that scene in an interview and did mention the reasoning behind putting tape on her mouth (didn't like the message it was sending out). Even Lil Mama was aware of the role she was playing I just think they didn't emphasize enough in the movie as to why she did that.
Yeah, I remember watching a VH1 Special about Lisa Lopes where she admitted that she did not like the message behind the Creep song.

T-Boz and Chili already confirmed that Lisa's brother was involved in the project and approved things. Reigna spoke out of turn, suggesting they went behind the family's back. In all actuality her brother just didn't tell her and I think that's the real reason she's a lil salty.
