This week I paint a commissioned piece that looks like rain using A VERY UNUSUAL technique - it's actually done by using a giant rotating barrel.
The technique is to paint the canvas that's on the barrel but to catch the excess onto the floor - which is where we put this canvas (coated in black paint beforehand). If you want to see this in action more then have a watch of this from a previous video: • WORLD'S ONLY BARREL PA... )
We are also figuring out how to get a new lighting rig into the pod and we go to a client with a stunning new painting called Saturation Point.
Plus, I make up some furniture, I try to audition for the role of James Bond (?) and I create FOUR brand mew artwork for you to look at - including two MEGA new canvases during our live stream broadcast (link here: • Two GIANT PAINTINGS cr... )
ARE YOU NEW TO THE CHANNEL? Excellent! A big welcome to you. We are LIVE from the studio every Wednesday so why not come and take a look on the next stream? The current link is always available here and we'd love to see you on the next one: www.swarez.co....

Thank you.
Monday's painting that you hung in a house should be a pillow.
That's called Saturation point - can be arranged!!! I'll add it to my list!
Your so awesome! Soo talented!!!
Thank you so much!!
I really need to see this rain painting being made, it's beautiful
We have proper footage of it somewhere - just got to try and find it amongst the terabytes of data we've shot!
Great ❣️
Thank you ☺️
I love your art. Following you in your studio/garage.
Thanks Claire and welcome to the Swarez family 😊
Must be amazing to be sooo busy at being an artist! How wonderful! You're an inspiration and very entertaining! Kudos
Thank you so much Ruthie!
Lucky you to have so much space to explore art. I only have the lounge. Great work. Wishful work for artists.
Well it's not exactly luck - it's relentless hard work for 13 years - I do get what you mean though but I can assure you luck is nothing to do with the space i have. Thanks for your kind feedback - gratefully appreciated!
Thank you for your reply, I truly appreciate it. God bless your creativity in the world of art.
You are so welcome Usha, thank you!

Thanks so much Adele, that's very kind of you!
How do u get ur gorgeous paintings to shine the way the way they do? Amazing to say the least!!
Thank you very much!!! That finish is built into the pants at source so i don't do anything to make them look shiny
Coooooool sire, greetings from Mexico
Thank you and Hola 👋!!!
Genius
Thank you (blushes!)
Did you ever consider to use your paintings as templates for carpets? They might look beautiful.
I have no doubt they would! it simply becomes a question of researching suitable manufacturers, finding the people responsible to approach, getting them interested, meeting with them, sorting contracts, agreeing a licence and range to stock (and all the other stuff) but yes, I agree - they would look amazing! Perhaps when we have some time we'll look into this further!
I've watched a good number of your videos now...
And I'm amazed at the two of yours work output.....
Where do you find the time to do all that you do....
You must have some little elfs working through the night lol.
Oh how I wish!! It's a combination of determination and stupidity I think! And a lot of hours of effort of course...
What kind of cloth are You using..is very strong what i see
I use a 420gsm (16oz) cotton canvas.
@@SwarezArt good..me too .sr..is. It really the Best .
I stumbled across your site from a search for silver and blue. I was surprised you use enamel paint as in Canada has been banned for years for all cans of paint. Only can buy acrylic or small tubes of winsor and Newton ( very expensive) . I tried to import enamel but customs was crazy and classified as hazardous for shipping. The enamal colors has more vibrancy. Maybe your using car paint 🤔
Welcome and thanks for adding a comment. I can definitely tell you it is 100% enamel paint and is Xylene based. A lot of countries have restrictions but we don't thankfully. You can learn more about my paints here: www.swarez.co.uk/using-enamel-paints/
Thank you for your reply. If you have a picture of the painting you did for the children, that would help or any suggestions. Very much appreciated. Also what is the address for your website or Facebook.
You can find me here: www.swarez.co.uk/ and all major social platforms (links at the bottom of the site pages) or in most video descriptions
Where is the best place to buy affordable art supplies? Like canvas and paint and brush ?
I guess try your local art supplies store or maybe an online art retailer? I'm sure you can find one that is competitive with a little effort and research. Hope that helps.
Bummer; no footage on the panting of the rain piece.
Hi Roy, although this isn't the exact painting, what it does do is show how we came across the technique so to say, i will pop a link to it here: ruclips.net/video/9Ib5jP7HMHQ/видео.html
Hy!!, I liked your Artwork so March
Am an Artist too from Rwanda,
I would like to use those paints
You use if it can be possible
Thx!
Thank you Nkunzu! I use enamel paints that are made specially for me so unless you can find an industrial paint supplier who will make some for you then things could get difficult for you! Enamels require you to wear breathing gear as they are toxic so please look after your own safety if you manage to get hold of any. Thanks Ed.
Fantástico! Sucesso sempre 🙋♂️
Gracias!
I thought this video was all about the rain painting using some amazing technique!! I love ur channel but this video was somewhat disappointing! 🙁 The title of this video is misleading. I love that painting and was really looking forward to seeing it being created! Maybe I'll post it sometime! 😉
I do offer an explanation in the description relating to that. The difficulty is that there's a lot of content about it in the video itself and I appreciate the clip is very small but I have recently adjusted the title to better align with the video itself.
How long into this video before you do any fucking painting??????
Easy Tiger!
thanx for video , its so inspiritation and briliant idea..good job bro
Thank you so much!
Even tidying up is good hum good decorator 😁
Indeed!
I really enjoy watching these videos!!!! Your art technique inspires me tremendously!!!!🤍❤️🤯
Thanks very much Jade, greatfully appreciated
@@SwarezArt you’re absolutely welcome!!
Complimenti è un grande artista ,la seguo da un po,purtroppo non parlo l'inglese, sono curiosa di sapere cosa usa per lucidare questi meravigliosi dipinti?
I don’t polish anything. That finish is built into the paint.
What kind of paint do you use?. Thanks!
Hi Lien. It’s enamel paint and you can learn more about it here: swarezart.com/using-enamel-paints/
Brilliant work guys!
Thanks!
Gratidão 🙏 lindo trabalho
Thank you Saky 👍
Brilliant thanks 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Love your work.
Thank you ☺️
I discovered you today and just love your work. In today’s video you delivered a long, narrow horizontal blue piece to a client. It is fabulous. Did you have resin on that piece? If not how did you finish it? I find your way painting, and the size of your studio truly amazing. I’ve rarely seen an Artist paint on unstretched campus. I’ve done a number of fluid art paintings but nothing that large. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Hi Tara. I don't use any resin or finishing mediums on my paintings - that's the finish of the paint itself as it comes from the factory. Thank you also for your kind words - the studio was hard won ten years ago and we've poured all our energy and a ton of money into it so that it can sustain what we do today. Great to welcome you to the channel!
Perfect ❤
Thank you!

Cool!!!
This one is so amazing ❤ The next is totally amazing 😮 fascinating all the cells love the blue😊You and the other guys are so magnificent ♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹☘️☘️
Thanks very much Cynthia
It's amazing how quickly studio space seems to shrink, isn't it?😉 I really like the "rain" painting, especially when you got it into the sunlight and all of the colors seemed to burst into life!
Thanks Joseph - you’re right, things get filled up very easily!!
Awesome 👍 I always enjoy the behind the scenes videos. There's so much more to running an art business than just making the art
Indeed there is Paula and I hope we are able to show people how many processes and tasks are involved in what we do. Thanks for the comments.
I also love the "reality" aspect of the videos. Really unique and valuable background information on the art business
💚 hermoso.
Gracias!!
So beautiful rain sparkle
Just love your enthusiasm its clearly portrayed in your artwork
Thank you, that's very kind of you!

Love your videos! I am learning so much and I'm very appreciative. One question. This video is titled "Painting Rain" but I didn't see that technique. Did I miss it?
Hi Brenda - thank you for the kind words! I think I may need to add a few sentences to the description because i can appreciate that although we show the barrel machine a couple of times, I can see that I'm not stood Infront of it with a camera explaining things! Yikes I apologize for that...
The technique is to rotate the barrel whilst applying paint and then catch the drips on the canvas underneath (you can seer that on this video: ruclips.net/video/AejADJUUFDs/видео.html). Hope that helps and thanks for the valued feedback!
Thanks for mentioning that Brenda 'cause I was a bit confused as to what's going on! lol
@@naomiledger1374 apologies everyone!
Absolutely stunning! Love it so much.🔥🔥🔥⭐️
Thank you so much!!
I just recently discovered you and amazed by huge canvases you do. A quick dumb question- the paints you use are acrylic or house paints?
Neither Sujatha - they are enamel paints and you can learn more about theme here: www.swarez.co.uk/using-enamel-paints/

What kind of paint do you use? Acryllic, oil, ??
I use enamel paint which is oil based with solvents. You can learn more about them here: www.swarez.co.uk/using-enamel-paints/
Absolutely ABSTRACT !
Cool!
Another question. Did you ever do a video of stretching that large painting that was on the floor that you stretched the large canvas for? I really wanted to see the process and how it turned out.
Which one? The black background one with silver and gold?
@@SwarezArt it was very hard to see because it was laying on the ground, in the background of where you stretch the canvas. It looked like a dark, either black or navy blue background.
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
I love your videos
Thanks very much Aqsa!!
Super bello ,escezionale complimenti
Grazie mille Gabriela!
I enjoyed watching him create a painting, but every other video I have tried to watch only is about him walking around and talking with an occasional stapling a canvas to a frame.
There are a lot of artist help videos which of course means i record in my place of work - the studio. The Vlogs are a candid and honest view of what we do on a daily basis so I'm sure if you are able to catch a few more you'll see us out with clients, suppliers and a host of other things. But of course, as you might expect, the main thing in our world is creating art so the bulk of what we do revolves around that and the processes that lie behind it. Thanks for the feedback!
Did I zone out or did you describe how to do the rain painting? Been obsessed with it since you posted the pic a few months back! Great behind the scenes video love to see it!
Haha! Thanks Sic. No, you haven't missed anything. inn fact we did record the whole thing (of it being made on whilst catching the drips from a giant rotating barrel) and I will make that a complete video at some point. Thanks very much for your kind feedback!
@@SwarezArt you guys are awesome!! Ty for making amazing content during your busy busy days!!!! Very inspiring !!
@@sic9942 Thank you very much!
I just love watching your videos, they are so fun. So happy to have discovered them. It’s amazing to watch you create, especially on un stretched canvases. I have one question, if you don’t mind sharing, do you seal your finished painting with anything and if so what? Absolutely love your work! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much Carolyn. I don't use any varnish or sealer - the finish I get is built into the paint at source - so that's one less thing to worry about!
