I’m making plans for the day all of this is through Seeing my path there Hearing the song I’ll sing and food that I’ll taste and all the drinks that I’ll consume Return the smile of an unmasked friend As we take streets I don’t walk down cause I want to avoid Fighting temptation Walk at a downtown pace and treasure the crowds that once made me act so annoyed Sometimes I wonder how long ’till I’m a face in one? What an iconic message for the era.

God knows I love "Free Range" and was eager to credit it for inspiration, but I have to admit to not really hear a very close resemblance... but I do hear a broader Fall vibe especially in the chorus (and especially in its bassline).
You guys have been making music for a long time now, but I only recently discovered the band. It's been a heavy rotation since, and it's definitely one of my all-time favorites. Wide Awake & Sympathy For Life have become the soundtrack of my waking hours, and I've been doing a deep dive into all your other offerings of the last dozen years. I hope to someday soon be a smiling unmasked face in the crowd dancing to your tunes. Thanks for all the joy you've brought me in these trying times.
This is just about the funkiest tune they've done yet. Reminds me a bit of early 90's Primal Scream? Has a kinda nice minor key punky feel to little bits I think. Big fan, sounds like I still am.
I heard this the first time while more than half asleep at 4 am in the Radio. I dreamt a whole video to that song in bed. It was great but when the song ended I realized that I was dreaming, jumped out of bed and wrote down the name of the song for the Day after... Here I am. Parquet Courts You Rock!
Now when I see someone filming peoples' feet on the sidewalk I have to ask myself whether they're people with foot fetishes or just the best art rock band of the century

I've got everything on vinyl they've released including multiple pressings of cor variants. My 4 year old son wore out the Wide Awake vinyl he listened to it so much so I had to buy another 😂
How to With John Wilson is like Planet Earth, but for NYC. This video is like that, but if your camera-person is drunk stumbling through the crowds. A+

My people invented Bass...and I.....concur!
I swear to god these dudes are bringing so much joy into my life again just by uploading one song
This is giving me early 90s Manchester vibes, just a smidge.
after denise johnson and andrew weatherall died last year this could be the perfect tribute album to screamadelica
Baggy!
Happy Mondays a bit?

What an iconic message for the era.
the self aware lyrics put the band on another level of today, it makes me happy thinking of gratitude for things you used to take for granted
I like how they have this old school garage rock and roll kind of sound buried deep in their style
I'm pushing 60 yo and this sort of music busted me out of the olds music preference pattern!
sean yeaton one of the best modern bassists. driving every song all the time
wasn't crazy about it first listen, then listened to wide awake all the way through and came back to this song and yeah this is great.
this song goes insanely hard
This could be an episode of How To with John Wilson. Love it.
yep!
lool like drunk John Wilson yesss
I couldn't get this beat out of my head since the Jersey City show, and here it is!
i was there!
So jealous omg
This was a delicious breakfast.

Straight into my Parquet Courts Top Ten. Getting a bit of a Free Range (The Fall) vibe from the bassline.
God knows I love "Free Range" and was eager to credit it for inspiration, but I have to admit to not really hear a very close resemblance... but I do hear a broader Fall vibe especially in the chorus (and especially in its bassline).

This is catching the party that has been summer 2021 in NYC as well as basically giving us an episode of How to with John Wilson.
Music rules too
Is there a song where NYC can be perfectly distilled into? The answer is: yes.
Been waiting new music from this guys the whole year. Completely hook to all they have done till now
Quickly becoming one of my favorite parquet courts songs
Sometimes you get positively surprised by discovering new music. This song is one of those gems ! We are Parquet Courts fans from now on !
I’ve been waiting for this for like three years.
Yep, wtf I'm psyched
This band have got a great groove going for the new album. I love this song and Black Widow Spider
Awesome. Haven’t been this psyched for an album release in a long time.

I know this is the intention, but this video just makes me want to go out and party for the first time in two years
This one reminds me of late '80s/early '90s BritPop -- think Happy Mondays, The Farm, EMF, Brand New Heavy, et. al.!
Totally agree. Thought they were British when I first heard them.
Another post-punk album in 2021? This makes me a happy boy.
This is just about the funkiest tune they've done yet. Reminds me a bit of early 90's Primal Scream? Has a kinda nice minor key punky feel to little bits I think. Big fan, sounds like I still am.
Walking through downtown with this blastin
Love the music
Now this is what I call a comeback
Pretty, pretty, pretty… pretty good.
Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic.
I love this band.
Very Happy Mondays-ish. Got to see these guys last Saturday, love that rock and roll is coming back, slowly.....
This song is INCREDIBLE!!! I found you guys 6 weeks ago! I love this band
Such fantastic such replay

What'd you dream?
the juxtaposition between the rhythm and bass lines and the sluggish guitar. they are fucking back
Outstanding tune. What a great listen. Radio had me hooked.
Daniel arnold x parquet court is the combo I never knew I needed so badly.
Going to pick this album up on vinyl at noon
Still spin today ..so thankful i heard this band leaving new port Jazz fest last year on ride home ..whole album is a cruise
Great energy! I had to look this up after hearing on KCRW. The rhythm has a Ty Segal "Feel" feel to it. Both are good.
Listened/watched twice now. This may be in my top 5 all time
fantastic song!
omg, thanks guys, you've already saved my life with your music
i pay a ticket festival just to see these guys at 4pm. they're great.
They’re back! Parquet Courts are back!!!
was getting worried boys, but you’re back with an absolute banger, the album might just be the key to saving 2021
