In the MITO movie, when the voices were talking about "he's coming" and Ian asked "who's coming?" I think many people thought it was MITO that they were talking about because of MITO's shadow at the door right before he got stabbed by the floating knife. The thing is, the hand that turned the light off before Ian got stabbed was of Mr. Insanity (the colorful suit). MITO looks dark and all villain-like, but he was protecting Ian the whole time.
I’m so sad this deep dive is ending, hope you can react to some interviews as well! Ian always talks about his lore and his disorders so openly, he is truly amazing as an artist and as a human being. Thank you Roscoe for so many great reactions! It’s been so fun
YES, my favorite interview of all time is his with Zach Sang. After I watched it, I remember feeling even more respect and admiration for him, not just as an artist, but as a person.
I figure somethings in the lyrics..anyone who wanted to add more or maybe correct me, please join in. So, when mito said, i spread my wings to take you in, maybe he is referred to the time mito was first born as a protector who took all the trauma of ian so that Ian could live on ( so u could dream it all) but then he said, When I'm all alone , i let my world explode which means that mito is the onebwho has not forgotten any of the trauma and the one who has lived with it and is still living which is a lot to take!! Then, he said And I Sink the remains below, which means that he hides all that trauma from Ian and just keeps it to himself bcoz he is PROTECTOR. But this protection has taken a huge toll on mito's mental health. He them says, i am left all alone. He is alone bcoz ian doesn't know mito like he knows insanity. As, ian told us, he is only ever mito when he blacks out and doesn't recollect anything from the time mito took charge. Meaning, that mito is all alone unlike insanity also, mito is the only one bearing all the burdens for ian. It's just super sad.

Clarify me one thing: Mr Insanity is not also one of his alters? bc i always thought he was one too but maybe i am wrong and it's just the representation of IAN in his manic state and not another identity.
If so, that means that IAN only have on Alter (MITO) as far as we know? Usually people with DID tend to have many and i also read that Alters can also have "their own Alters or their own subsystem (group of alters)" to help to deal with their trauma, thing that could be possible with MITO 😔
@Babyv004 Mr.insanity is definitely one if the term. Actually ian has mentioned that as Mr.insanity, he is still conscious that Mr. Insanity has taken charge and he remembers what he did as insanity. But, mito is different. Ian completely blacks out when mito fully takes charge
ohh look, the song that always makes me ugly cry. Makes me feel so bad cause at first I saw Mito as this really scary individual, but now I want to give him the warmest hug.
I actually feel like that was intentional on ians behalf because when talking about mito in the memories In disorder doc he talked about how "the darkest or scariest things are often the most misunderstood". So I think over time he wanted to uncover mitos true self vs the scary depiction of him we see in the first album.

I love how you keep pointing out the deliberate black frames. I noticed them in multiple videos but never really thought too much about it. he's such a perfectionist, that is definitely intentional. So smart!
And I never noticed the reflection of the end credits either. That is crazy!
In regards to the smoking. Ian said he's mostly given up (he's vaping now) but Mito still smokes.

This is another ooof! The fact that the other alters want to be recognized as not being evil and have feelings of their own is very interesting. See me for what I am and not what you think I am. I was born to protect the host and doing my best.
I love how you can visibly see when Ian is Mito. Like in his literal physical appearance, in his face, you can see that its a whole other being. Beautifully terrifying.
Hear me out you should really watch Ian's interviews and his lives. you'll be blown away even more when you hear him explaining abt the lore and the things he has to struggle with bcs of his disorders he's such an impressive person i was never fascinated by an artist like this before
I admire this song so much. It hits way too hard sometimes. Those lyrics man 💔 I don't think I've ever heard of anything like it before. Everything about Skins is amazing and that instrumental alone has a separate fangirl inside me. Can't wait to stream the full version in the hybrid album/ep. Loved seeing the details you caught!

Hey! Just thought of letting you know that Ian wasn't in a depressive episode during Skins. I understand how it may seem like it but Mito isn't representative of a depressive episode. In bipolar disorder type I you can have one episode of mania, no depression, and still be diagnosed as such. A depressive episode isn't a must. Ian gave emphasis before how he doesn't have full on depressive episodes. Ian also has DID. In this disorder because of severe childhood trauma the mind of the child creates a "new person" so they can take the trauma for the child, otherwise it would be unbearable. That way the mind can't fully integrate into one whole person and instead it becomes multiple identities. To put it simply it works as if there's more than one person in one body. Each person is called an "alter". Mito is the "protector alter". He was the identity who was created back then so he can deal with the trauma and Ian can forget. He was created to protect Ian from this trauma. When Ian switches completely into Mito (usually due to stress) he blacks out. Then he comes back, hours, days, weeks (the most was a month) not remembering anything that was said or done by Mito while he was out of the body/mind. 'Skins' was actually made during one of these black outs, in 2 days, all by Mito. Ian has no recollection of making it. So he was actually having a DID episode, not a depressive one. The "you" in the lyrics is Ian. It's a letter from Mito to Ian about how it feels to hold their traumas. Hopefully I made everything more clear. But I do agree that he was very brave in choosing to share a 100% Mito creation with us giving that this is most vulnerable state. (If you ever reply to me I might not be able to reply again because RUclips have been deleting my comments. But I'll see everything!)

Yes as soon as he was editing this (he , i mean Mito) ; Ian/mito made a live ( i say ian/mito because it like half and half i don't know how to explain it). Like the live was almost right after coming back from outside filming and said to be pacient that mito wanted to shows us something and was raw and was editing this one. So not only you see mito in the video but was edited by mito ..kinda or that's what i got from the live. Like i am used to his sudden lives but this one caught me off guard all the way, so respects for Chris for all this, the insta-live and skins

in some of the clips you see the mito eye and some you dont. is that how mito thinks ian feels like when the switch happens? confused and feeling paranoid? also is the text backward because mito puts it like that? like he feels like hes watching a show so the writing is forwards to him and backwards to us?
Thank you every time for your insight on his work, Roscoe! Ian has been dropping teasers for his upcoming "hybrid" release, and it looks like it's going to be pretty incredible and will include "Limbo" as well as the full version of "Skins". The new album will be introducing us to a new alter, but it seems to be a mix between Mito and Mr. Insanity called the Hybrid who was represented in "Limbo". He said that this alter developed during DPR's last world tour, which may mean his previous alters are integrating (when this happens it means the separate alters combine their memories, skills, and knowledge), but he's been interpreting that into his new work. Hope you can continue the deep dive!

Hi, i know people will be asking you to react to interviews and random videos of ian, because i already am seeing some comments here. I'm here to just say please don't lol. I love ian, but usually when reactors finish an artist discography and videos they get these requests to get to know the artist more. But i think those are really not a good reaction material. They get a bit cringey sometimes. Idk but many times i feel like it's giving me second hand embrasement to see someone reacting to those videos because most of the time they are just normal videos so the reaction would be empty and that's where it starts to feel like the reactor is forcing it. For me those videos should be enjoyed on your own if you really want to. Anyways, I'm just here to say, keep the ian reactions strictly to his art, music and videos. It's okay to stop here and wait with us for more art from him 😅. Welcome to the other side 😂. But ofc do as you like. But for me i always felt like reaction channels lost their spark once they start reacting to those kind of videos.
