A story of "valor" ? Apparently it doesn't take a functioning brain...or even courage....to have valor. Vietnam was an undeclared war by the US. It had NOTHING to do with American safety, security and freedom. Americans had NO place in Vietnam. It was not America's fight. It could be accurately stated that Americans who went to Vietnam lacked courage and brains to stand up to their Government when it was wrong. Blind obedience and allegiance. Maybe the people with real valor were those who resisted the US Government and its bully consequences and punishments.
You must have a lot of anger issues. The men and women who went to Vietnam went because they trusted their government. It was not the same then as it is today. You have done a great disservice to those who did as their nation asked. You must be ashamed of yourself. It is old men like me who swore to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, that would still take up arms today that allow you the freedom that you have to speak your mind. Those in the U.K. have lost the freedom of speech, we have to remain vigilant that it doesn't happen here.
@@pigpen5145 Nice try. I am a proud Vietnam/Draft resistor and I didn't just get off the "banana boat". I am doing a great service by denouncing the war and people who had the deluded mentality to support it. I care about the future generations that I know watch these Kool Aid videos. Anger and shame issues?? Because I did NOT trust my Government when it was wrong? Try another angle. And before you comment....Yes...I sleep very well at night. So come up with something else.
@@pigpen5145 Apparently my original response was suppressed by the author. I am a proud Vietnam/Draft resistor. I am doing a great service in my comments b/c I know younger generations watch these Kool Aid videos. I care about the future generations buying into the nonsense that can come from videos like this. Btw...being in Vietnam did absolutely nothing for American safety, freedom and way of life.....win or lose. Your Government used and abused you with its faulty foreign policy. Be careful what you "swear" to. Maybe this response will not be censored since you fought for my free speech.
@@topgeardel Damm right as someone from the younger generations you did me and people of my generation a great service. When this gentleman said, " You have done a great disservice to those who did as their nation asked. Talk about being a sheep and not knowing how to critically think.
@@robertisham5279 Thanks. The biggest mistake these guys did wasn't going to Vietnam...it was what they DID NOT do after Vietnam. They did not fight fiercely for the younger generations of Americans to keep our Government from getting into future "Vietnams". They were losers in Vietnam.... even bigger losers after Vietnam. They obviously didn't get the Memo and care about their kids and grandkids. I have disdain for them b/c of that.
Thanks for your service! Glad you made it home!
