Hmmm. Looks like Jim Dowdall (stuntman who played dozens of roles, including his debut as the young looking machine gunner who got blasted when Clint famously dual wielded MP40s in Where Eagles Dare - and he's still active) on the bottom left at 0:10-0:13 . Its not on his IMDB though - will have to check and add it.
It does look like him but IMDB doesn't list this among his many credits like you say!
I think I mentioned this movie to you a decade ago but I think you saif that you don't know it. Incredibly I was thinking of this movie yesterday before you posted it :)

0:30... read the machine-gunner's handbook guys. Sandbags are only effective for protection if you take cover behind them. You would have been fine if the return fire was aimed at your shins! The rest of you was begging to catch a bullet! Not that I don't appreciate your bravado, but it's not the best job to have a learn-by-doing apprach.
Also, was that train carrying a load... and I mean load... of explosives? Didn't seem to take much to blow it to bits.
And the two of them seemed to be enjoying themselves so much lol. I haven't watched the movie the whole way through, only the action scenes, but I was thinking that myself about the explosives. It was very easy to blow that train up!
@@foreverblueclassicsWho wouldn't enjoy playing shoot-em-up with machine guns!? Imagine reading the script and seeing that your character gets to squeeze off rounds into a group of bullet-begging bad guys? OH MAN! What could be better than that... except for the scene when you get to catch a slug yourself and show 'em how it's done. Lol.
Yeah, that train blew up a little to easy I think. The chain-reaction of the explosions was a little unbelievable, but certainly fun to watch.
As far as watching just the action/battle scenes in war movies, I do it all the time. Lol. Especially if I've already seen the whole movie. Like the soldiers getting shot, I know just where to go! Lol. Man it sounds like we're cut from the same (bloody) cloth!
@@thesixshooter6506 Oh yeah, they wouldn't have to pay me to play the role either, I'd be right on to it and no mistake!
It's possible there's something explosive in the carriages but I can't see it being THAT deadly that a few bullets from a Sten would blow the whole thing up but it makes for a good show lol.
I skimmed through the movie and picked out the best scenes. To be honest, for all the impressive cast list, it doesn't appear to be especially good, but not bad either. But I was only interested in the action etc so it is what it is. We are definitely on the same train, though not this one hopefully, given how deadly the cargo is!!!!
@@foreverblueclassics I'd pay THEM for a chance to pay a character. Not a major one... just an extra who gets to die over and over. A nameless, faceless bullet catcher who doesn't care as much about being a lead in the film as much as he does being filled with lead.
As for that train, I'm waiting for the next one to come along. It'll have to stop because of this one being in the way and another battle is likely.
