I survived a cougar encounter, too; it was happy hour on Margherita Mondays at Applebys, one approached me from the side and told me she has a son my age, I told it that I think I left my phone in the bathroom, and I escaped through the kitchen to avoid pursuit. Knowledge is power

I'm surprised that basic hunting skills didn't make the list.
For tourniquet take stop-bleed course and use a proper one. The info about applying tourniquet may make you lose a limb is based on no proper training and judgement and it is quite outdated. New records showed that if using a tourniquet is warranted, and done properly even it if took hours to reach medical facilities, the injured can still saved with a functional limb.
Fun fact: Keep Superglue in your pack.
It's perfect for sealing up small wounds.
Keeping out bacteria.
You'd think it would sting
when applied to an open wound.
But not at all.
(Speaking from experience.)

I can't verify his claim.
But I'm inclined to believe him.

it's useful for shallow wounds but if you use it for deep ones it might cause worse than open wounds

But first aid for a minor injury?

Superglue or Duct tape.

I love eating roaches. I have a lot of them in my house. I just pick them up and put them my mouth. Sometimes off the floor, off the wall or my sink. I do buy groceries and eat regular food, but most of the time I just use groceries to lure the roaches out so I can eat the roaches instead.

You are more likely to survive by drinking dirty water and getting treated for it after rescue than not drinking and dying of dehydration.
Eating insects isn’t that bad but you don’t know where they have been so it’s best to at least wash them.
