Japanese Particles と (to), や (ya), か (ka) - Do you know the difference?

  • Let's learn how to use Japanese Particles と, や, か in this lesson. These three particles are Noun Connectors (they only connect nouns), and the differences are as below.
    と - Indicates an all-inclusive list " and"
    や - Lists examples "for example," "such as" "among others"
    か - Indicates alternatives "or"

    What i noticed is just how drastically different the sentence composition in English and Japanese. Short japanese phrases becomes mouthful emalgamations in English and vice versa. And it is immensely fascinating.
