CyclingCeramic derailleur pulleys are designed to reduce friction in your rear derailleur, saving several watts.

Let's compare the gold-colored 9100 pulleys and the black-colored Sram AXS ones. The main difference lies in the attachment point, with a rod on the 9100 and a flat surface on the AXS. The latter comes with a mounting tool, while for Shimano, a simple hex key is sufficient for installation.
Products come with an oil dropper and mounting instructions at the bottom of the box.
Tip: If your pulleys spin a bit less freely, lift the plastic spacers slightly and retighten the screw.
An aluminum pulley is very light, having little kinetic energy when spun by hand, but you should notice the difference. After a few hundred kilometers, your pulleys will operate at their maximum efficiency and continue to do so for thousands of miles !

There is no special maintenance requested for such pulley wheels systems. They offer a longer life duration for pulleys because of the reduced frictions on pulley wheels and quality of aluminum. It's easier to clean up the pulley wheels because they are larger and not hidden. Bearings can be cleaned once or twice a year: remove the pulley, remove the dust cover with a cutter, degrease with a quality degreaser (we have one online: www.velo-perso.com/en/bearings/2376-100m-bearings-degreaser-cyclingceramic-3760275322258.html) .
