Jones was asked multiple, multiple time for Google Analytics data so it could be inferred how much his platform grew as a result of coverage of Sandy Hook. It was a required part of discovery, and specifically listed in court orders. InfoWars said they didn't have any analytics multiple times. Even though they did.
So this ruling about not being allowed to testify InfoWars didn't profit is basically like another default judgement. If you are asked for evidence and don't turn it over in blatant disregard of the court, it can be inferred that the evidence would be incriminating. If Jones wanted to make a defense that InfoWars didn't profit, all they had to do was turn over the requested documents

@@brian782 Jones was given a chance to defend himself against the accusations. And part of that in the U.S. judicial system is discovery of evidence. After 3 years of Jones lying about records and dragging the case on, what is the court to do? Keep asking him for 20 more years to "Pretty please turn over the documents Mr. Jones. It would be awfully nice of you to do so..."
No. Eventually the court has to enforce compliance with their orders. Jones was specifically warned that if he failed to comply with discovery, a default judgement would be made against him. Jones failed to comply, and the court kept to their word
