@@MusicTheLifeBlood yeah so not really coming from a previous generation of Hair Metal guitarists. I think someone has just seen GnR in his CV and assumed he was older.
IMO The Fragile Era was the best, the band lineup was pure excellence, his voice was still crisp, the lighting and stage shows may have gotten more impressive but his voice has suffered since 2005 onwards. Very grateful he decided to release Halo17 in all it's forms. One of the TOP live albums of all time.
I've had an almost identical boot (probably a doc marten) straight to the face, however it was at a Manson show in 96'. One other thing at that show and This will probably seem disgusting but at the time it was great. Well in the pit it was unusually packed for a pit just everyone crammed so tightly that not even one of those slam dance circles could materialize. The cooling unit for the venue was down and it was midsummer. In order to breathe I had to jump and pick myself up about a foot higher than standard head level of the pit. People were literally passing out from lack of oxygen and overheating. Well Manson had this thing he did where he would kind of do the " come on" thing with his hands to signal for everyone to spit on him and at this point id long sweated out all liquids and I was severely overheated. I swear if it wasn't for that blessed saliva raining down on me I might wouldve lost consciousness and not made it out. People were being pulled from the pit left and right by making it to the front i was pulled out, made eye contact with manson and he poured a bottle of water on me. It was great. Man I miss the 90s
I can't even listen or appreciate the original Sin studio recording after listening to this. This version is THE most badass of it and I hate that it's this good. I hate even more that I never got to see them live, and I really wish I could have during this captured era.
multiverse: "we have an array of worlds with outstanding positive options, including world peace, for you to be born in. And, uhm, ... NIN." me: " put me in that shitty world at age 16 to see NIN at a special 500 person only live concert in atlanta, GA to change the way my fucking brain works for-fucking-ever"
Best concert DVD ever. NIN at their best. The sound, the way it was filmed, everything is perfect. Especially how the shots used change throughout, from distant shots in Terrible Lie to getting closer to the band, then out in the crowd again for the big screen songs
The footage is a compilation of the best visual moments from like, 15 different shows, all filmed by the NIN road crew using consumer Canon XL2 cameras. Rob Sheridan and Trent edited the whole thing themselves (with some help) using a 2001 Apple G4 computer in Trent's New Orleans house, going through hours of footage from each show, tagging the best parts from each song, and then meticulously editing that footage together over one audio recording (they would pick the best audio for each song from each show) Each song is a visual compilation stitched together of 15 different shows.
Seeing NIN live and a dude behind me with a fat joint in the VIP glass sharing with me was amazing. Thanks brother you made the show insane even though I didn't need it.
This is like his best vocal performance I’ve heard, and the alteration to the end of Terrible Lie sounds fantastic, but I really don’t get the “You fucking promised me” line. Sounds like a kid who didn’t get the xbox he wanted for Christmas. I dunno I’m being a dick, this was a good performance. Dunno how musicians can tour like this and keep their voice intact.
I remember when this DVD first came out and one of my favorite parts has always been when he uses Robin as a human shield and Robin keeps playing. Man I miss the energy of these old shows.
still think that the fragile and the related touring are some of the best content he's ever put out. the energy in the fragility tours will never be surpassed
Dude that was the exact part of the concert I was looking for, the guitar thing they play sounds like what George Lucas used for the star killer sound effects I think, or maybe it was the most recent starwars. Similar distortion or whatever.
I love this so much :D can't wait to see nin for a second time in october! too bad I was born in 1991 X_X like many people say 90's was a great period for nin !
Yes! The early shows I saw them were Aug 6th 1994, Dec 1st 1994 and April 28th 2000. I still enjoyed the shows I saw in 2005, 2006 and 2009 and am really looking forward to October 4th, 2013, but those early shows were something special. The way they played "The Downward Spiral" the song in 1994 was so heavy, just rocking out with massive red lights as the "projection" part of the show came to a close. Damn, worth seeing every tour basically to catch the differences.
The only NIN album I ever bought was "With Teeth". This new stuff is equally if not, more incredible than his later stuff. I can't believe I never saw them in concert.
Saw these savages in 1994 Toronot Maple leaf gardens. Manson opened up for them. When they played wish they had these you're white laser a and orange, that lit the whole arena up. So 😎
If I could have only one wish I would ask to be at the and all that could have been tour or fragility, I was too young to go back then :( well Tension tour was awesome anyway 1 first row in front of trent :D )
Robin Finck... coming from the previous era of interchangeable hair metal guitarists, found his own sound and look. He doesn't get enough credit.
Could not agree more, Robin has really set the sound of NINs guitar play, especially on the live performances.
Was Robin not super young when he joined the Live Band?
@@kanyefuck7018 He was 23 in 1994. -Dustin

Robin is an amazing dude. The live band wouldn't be the same without him
That "You fucking promised me!" he adds in live is so powerful.

Yes!!!! Love him
Yer I was feeling that too
So yeah, this is pretty much the best shit ever.
so yea, you're right
I love NIN in concert
When someone ask, or doesn't ask even, I tell them this is the best live song ever. All genres included.

4:31 - That melody tho. So damn haunting. This song live is the best moment in electronic music history.
Not far off
Techno melodies
Eghh it's awesome, but not the best.
I've noticed NIN fans really like to say NIN is the best at everything, which is far from the truth IMO. They are really great though!!
@@ianh6760 Name one band with better outro melodies. I'll wait.
The world changes when you go and see shows like this I always expect something to happen completely amazing.
I have seen them 5X in concert... I always walk in looking like myself, I always walk out looking like a disheveled rag doll.
I've been watching this dvd weekly since 2003, quarterly since 2005 and it is still the best live shit i've seen
+tatonn ement for me it was Tension 2013
tatonn ement fuken a bro! I always come back to nails every 6 months!!
never get sick of it! this and early tool live performances :)
tatonn ement for sound, absolutely.
I think i've watched it almost every day in 2002
This was NIN at its best.
FUCK Yeah it was bro
theyre still cool but YES
Believe it or not Trent was battling heroin addiction on this tour
My favorite live video ever...inc. Titanic! Why do I love that creepy film! Jerome Dillon...what a drummer. Staggering.
Kyle Ashcraft Nah Booze and coke.
I wish i was born around these times, seeing them live would be so amazing.
Next tour Go ! The Best 💕
Whent to this tour a perfect circle opened one of the best concerts ever
Best show I've ever been to.
I remember seeing them for this tour, being in the pit, and getting a boot to the face during The Frail. THE FRAIL. Ahh, best concert ever :D
Yeah, I saw them in Indianapolis on this tour, it was so good!
LOL the frail??? that’s amazing

The good old days when Manson opened for them. Awesome times…
Holy fuck yes. Being there in the crowd for this one had to be about the best experience of anyone's life.
Saw them twice on this tour and both shows were mind blowing
For those that crave something REAL.
Am so happy I got to go to this tour...best concert of my entire life!!! And lets not forget A Perfect Circle opened for them!
I can't even listen or appreciate the original Sin studio recording after listening to this. This version is THE most badass of it and I hate that it's this good. I hate even more that I never got to see them live, and I really wish I could have during this captured era.
Used to listen to NIN a lot in the early 2000s when I was a kid. Smoking pot & watching this VHS in the basement 😂 Good times.

The 90's was such an awesome time for industrial alternative!
Saw NIN with David Bowie in Dallas, TX Starplex Amphitheater 1995.
AMAZING SHOW! 🤘❤️🔥🤘
Jerome Dillion is a beast on the drums !! By far the best drummer for NIN
Not only this live album was PERFECT 👏😎 Sin & terrible are classic NIN songs of all time ! 🎼
Saw them in Indianapolis on 4/20/2000. Was the best show I've ever seen.
1:46 when those layered synth sounds of bass and strings come in, it just hits 👌
By FAR the best live show you could've seen.........ever..
No words can describe my love for NiN
Wish I saw them in those days, best era for sure
STILL WAITING TO HEAR MARCH OF THE PIGS...
You missed a lot of the best times, I went to so many NIN and Manson shows in the 90's it was crazy.
I miss the 90’s! Even though I was too young and isolated to see them back them. I’ve seen NIN twice. And they were absolutely amazing.

Peak NIN live!!! No era of the band sounded better or performed better live. And Trent's vocals were at its best here.

This almost sounds like the intro riff to Black Sabbath - Paranoid (but slowed way down).
Maybe underrated, R. Fink guitar strokes are unique, subtle at times, sharp at others, always creating dark atmospheres. A great musician.
I saw NIN in 2008, and in 2010. They was awesome. For me it's very hard to imagine how they was in 2000, or earlier.
I have this on DVD. Haven't watched it in ages.
awwww this was my fave era with danny lohner robin finck charlie clouser jerome dillon and of course Trent Reznor
This is an amazing performance. Great quality too
Two of the best songs ever in the existence of humanity! Captured in time in this performance!

Best live version of this track by far. Incredible. Whoever mixed and mastered this, clearly the one DVD/recording that captures live NIN best for me.
I can be wrong but i cannot imagine Treznor not remixing anything that he was into.
Fuckin love NIN. Trent....Thank you for being born. Your music just conveys such imagination and feeling.. and induces creative states.
just got tickets to their first live show in nearly 3 years! seeing them Wednesday!!!

I'm so old I saw them during pretty hate machine tour in '90
I wish the intro to sin in the version was the original
this is the first time I ever heard this performance and I'm with you on that; the original sounds nowhere near as cool as this one does
Yeah, they were and always will be awesome but 1999-2002 was their peak.
