- After Notre Dame and Tennessee split their opening two super regional matchups, a winner-take-all was played in Knoxville, with the Irish pulling off the massive upset to eliminate the top overall seed Volunteers and advance to the 2022 Men's College World Series.

As an Auburn fan I never have inherently hated Tennessee but seeing the way this team showed their asses and now seeing them lose brings absolute joy to my heart.

It marks both times during the Super Regional era that ND has advanced to Omaha on the road thru the #1 overall national seed! In '02 they beat top ranked FSU in Tallahassee and now the seemingly invincible, no weaknesses Vols in Knoxville! What a masterful managing job Link Jarrett has done the last two years during the NCAA's! Last year they hard fought eventual national champion Mississippi St to a decisive third game and now this time they break through! ND will not be an easy out whatsoever in the CWS next week
This would never happen in FBS college football. That’s why real college sports fans love a true playoff, instead of one dictated by big money instead of student athletes
@@xftbllplyr2091 And that's exactly why the NCAA Baseball Tournament is the singular best amateur postseason! Ole Miss wins the national championship as a mini-regional #3 seed and their equivalent in any other collegiate sport playoff doesn't make that sport's field! Plus u get multiple surprise teams (not just one) that make deep runs annually due to being given the opportunity! It's not only the toughest tournament to navigate, but the only one that provides us no bias toward school brand! I will gladly, and do, take the NCAA Baseball Tournament over any other! And before I sign off - to everyone out there who b----ed about Ole Miss getting in over NC State, maybe next time the Wolfpack can better their chances by improving on a 5-5 last ten games of the regular season record (that did them no favors)! Ole Miss more than proved the NCAA Baseball Committee made the correct choice! U can't get any better than being national champions! So the Rebels completely validated their bid, no questions asked!
Hearing the Notre Dame Victory March play on Tennessee’s home field was badass!
So satisfying watching Tennessee and it’s fans humbled in such a way after the embarrassing behavior.

I’m soooo happy to see Tennessee humbled and knocked off their high horse. Watching some of their games and highlights you get to see how unprofessional and obnoxious they could be, and it’s so satisfying knowing they thought they had the championship in the bag and now they won’t even have a chance to play for it 🥳

LOVE IT! Absolutely love it. With their foul mouths and bad sportsmanship, the Vols have made themselves public enemy #1 with respect to college baseball. So glad to see them plummet after being so highly OVER ranked. And to top it off, their fan base came out with some disturbingly anti-Catholic tee shirts for this series. The Tennessee Volunteers baseball team and their fans were totally classless acts for this super regional and those boys got their bottoms spanked by a superb Notre Dame team. Well done Irish! Well done indeed. At least for now, the Vols baseball players and coaches know who their Daddy is!

The incident that irked me the most about the overly arrogant Vols was the guy who flipped off both middle fingers to the oppostions' fanbase after he'd hit a HR instead of just respectfully circling the bases! Was just plain disgusting and if u notice he was one to whom we didn't get to see a priceless karma laden facial expression watching the Irish celebrate on the Vols' pitching mound! Funny what one year does! In 2021 Tennessee conducted themselves appropriately during their run to Omaha! Just played the game and went about their business the right way! What the hell happened! Anyway they rightfully got what they so richly deserved
Even better was the fact they had to watch a conference rival whom they'd swept a three game series from during the season win the natty! So in retrospect they got a double dose of karma's a bitch!
Plus when your coach allows you to act like that with no repercussions, he's equally opening himself up to karma biting back! Tony Vitello is just as much to blame for his players' childish and immature behavior as they are!
