People have got to understand that these plants have evolved over millions of years to adapt to their native environment. If your bringing home any plant you must understand where they came from, what defensive mechanics it has to protect it self as well as the reason why the plants have these features.

Don’t buy a sago from any big name stores. They all sell QUEEN sago palms. Most individual palm sellers only sell KING sago palms. Kings are far less deadly than queens. Only ever buy a sago if they are a king.
It's a money tactic and a scare tactic to keep awareness away from cycasin's mutagenics properties. I personally extract Cycasin for mutant plant breeding. Cycasin is extremely Toxic and one has to work with it carefully, especially when DMSO Is added. Cycasin apparently gives rise to variegated and even albino mutations. These mutated house plants easily fetch up to $1000 for a tiny node/stem)leaf cutting, sold for propagation.
This is why you research your garden plants before you buy them.
