Yes, the bar has a responsibility when a patron is as intoxicated as Riley. They're supposed to call for him an Uber or Taxi or something and tell them where to take him. Not just toss him in the street and say Good Luck Kid. He couldn't even stand up straight. Why not at least wait his friends to come escort him with the security guy so they could leave together and they would be responsible for Riley. It still makes no sense how he got into the river too. This is just so sad.

I agree with you. I have doubts about that story. I think they noticed how unsteady and intoxicated he was and took a photo of him to send to the nearby establishments telling them to refuse entry if they see him because they were about to kick him out of theirs. I think they came up with that story about him being verbally aggressive because they knew they were going to be in trouble for just tossing him into the street. They have a liability to call for an Uber or a Taxi for any patron that they remove for being to intoxicated. They didn't do that and he ended up dead. They're covering their own behinds at the expense of his reputation and his family's grief.

The way it was described before was when Riley was escorted out, the security guy was in front of Riley and the friend was behind or beside Riley (Dingman asked why would the security guy be in front of someone who was reported as being aggressive, you'd walk behind them), then the friend walked back up the stairs to the bar. According to this footage/clip it didn't happen that way ?? It would make sense his buddies were on the phone with him trying to figure out where he went.

You can’t force, friends, who are not breaking rules at a bar to leave with another person. That’s not how it works. People are kicked out of bars in that area daily. This one just happened to end tragically. Everyone is blaming every single person and entity with the exception of Riley. His friends were likely just as intoxicated. You can’t expect highly intoxicated people to be responsible for other highly intoxicated people.

    Thank You, Pascal.
I could accept things if we knew the results of the independent autopsy. I need to know what that report states in comparison with the Nashville report. Mostly because with that being a tourist town and the mass amounts of revenue made strictly from the tourist aspect, who knows what it might say in the report to protect the town's reputation and revenue. I am not accusing, just saying that I don't know one way or the other. Such a public case, who knows.
I want the independent report and I am still bothered by the not knowing how Riley got down close enough to the river's edge to fall in.
It was a very steep drop down. I don't think he could have walked that steep hill but say he lost his balance and tumbled the rest of the way down... There's so much foliage that would have been in the way so he couldn't have rolled on into the river. We also know there was a decent amount of ppl around. So no one hears him in distress in the river? Water amplifies sound. His struggles would have been reverberating off the water. What about the apple watch, he didn't call for 911 from the apple watch. Experts say he couldn't have taken off his boots and pants in the water at that level of intoxication and other experts say the current wouldn't have been enough to pull his boots off and his jeans and even if it somehow did, his underwear would have came with it. Plus he had a belt on and his body would bloat making it more unlikely they just came off. Were any of the other 3 ppl found in river pantless and shoeless? Not as far as we know. Just sayin.
I understand he was extremely intoxicated but the other things don't add up. Oh and no water in his lungs. Dry drowning only happens in 15% of drownings and is usually only found in small children.
I totally understand why Michelle would continue to have questions and not want the case closed.
There's no more proof it was an accident than there is that it was nefarious. There's just not proof of anything period and as a mother, that's just not gonna cut it. She HAS to know. We still have to many questions, amplify that to a mother's questions.
Riley's intoxicated state does fall on Riley's shoulders. He knows when he's had enough and clearly he had had enough already when he walked into the bar but he still ordered a drink there. That itself does fall on him, HOWEVER, this is why we have friends. They also would have been aware that he had enough. They also should have clearly seen that it was time to head back to the hotel because Riley wasn't in any condition to be out on the town long before they went to Luke's 34 bridge. Also, that excuse that the friend went to tell the others Riley was getting kicked out and when they got outside he was just nowhere to be found is crap. He wasn't far from the bar where he fell into the river. He also was unsteady and disoriented. We saw him stopping and debating which direction to go, we saw him very quickly after leaving the bar fall and bang his head on the concrete post and he hit it hard and sat up and he stayed sitting down for awhile before he got up. Prob from having his bell rung. I'm not buying it that they looked all over and he was nowhere to be found. More like IF they even stepped outside they looked to the left and looked to the right, didn't see him and continued partying. They didn't walk around looking. Show us the footage of that like they have of Riley walking. They didn't go back to the hotel until 3:30am because they continued partying. We know this. They didn't call 911 when he wasn't at the hotel, they went to bed and didn't call the next day until noon. Didn't finish the police report and didn't help search for him. We know about the next day 🤬
Riley was irresponsible with his drinking and his friends didn't give a 💩 about him. It still doesn't tell us what happened at that river.
    We Love You, Riley!
Michelle, we're not going to think anything bad about Riley because of anything in a toxicology report or a blood alcohol content. We do these things when we're young. There's no judgement. I have two sons Riley's age, they go to the bar with their friends, on one occasion one of my boys had to much, just like Riley. His friends are the reason he made it safely home. That's what Riley should have had that night. I'm so sorry and my heart is with you. Don't stop searching for answers. There's to many questions without answers. I pray for your strength. ❤
We really do care about your son and love him very much.

Most of the info he was giving the public was FALSE including all the info he spread about the Frat boys. Riley did infact have water in his lungs, he never talked or had any interaction with the homeless, he did NOT have a belt, the frat boys did in fact search for Riley until 5 am in the rain that night, and they did talk to the family up until the "family friend" was pushing his own narrative and started spreading lies. I'm sure he didn't realize he was doing it, but he owns those brothers an apology. It's just a very sad situation. Heartbroken for his family and friends.

If you’re becoming belligerent with a staff member or making inappropriate comments to a female staff member it’s not tolerated and it shouldn’t be for the hundreds of others in the bar. It is a safety concern for every other person in that bar and there’s only so many bouncers. The longer it takes the higher the risk others become involved and a brawl breaks out. I get his friends lost sight of him, but there had to be a few of them, certainly they could’ve caught up with him with his condition. I think it’s just another example of poor judgement on all their parts. Let’s face it, it’s one of the main reasons Auto insurance for males college age and younger is so expensive. It’s not their fault, it’s just their age. It’s a sad situation, and I wish as I’m sure they all do, wish they had gone after him to make sure he made it back to the hotel. Coulda, shoulda, woulda moment. :(

I still say Nashville is out of control because it’s a destination wedding venue/party time and no one is going to take that business/tax revenue away. If he was so drunk, every bar that served him at the point he went inebriated he should NOT have been served. The standard HAS to change if any of our children are to get home safe. From the horrible (woo wagons) pedal taverns, to brick and mortar. Now the Woo Wagons (because they all scream WOOOOOO as they’re coming down the street) have to bring their own alcohol, but that doesn’t mean they can’t overdo.

Do they plan to release to the public their personal toxicology report? What about Riley's Act, it didn't reach the goal of 35,000 signatures? What happens now to the money that was collected, is it being used ? Thank you for your time and efforts.

Bars are not babysitters. These bars in this area of Nashville are packed and they kick out many patrons every weekend. The streets are crowded and there isn’t even ride share pickup on the street. You have to walk blocks away. Bouncers are not going to walk patron’s blocks away to the rideshare location. In addition, you can’t force a person to get into a rideshare or force them to pay for it. There’s also a lot of liability involved in that situation. If you’re going to go out and drink, either be responsible or don’t drink at all. I’m seeing everybody blame every person in entity with the exception of Riley. His friends were likely just as intoxicated as he was. You truly cannot expect intoxicated people to be responsible for other intoxicated people. This was unfortunately a tragic accident. Alcohol causes tragic accidents daily.

When did RS text his mom about bbq flavor drink in relation to when this video at the bar was initially recorded ?
Could RS have been raising concerns about the flavor of his beverage to restaurant staff, bar was having none of it so insisted he leave . Other reports have been made before and since RS death about Nashville bars and spiked drinks .
Level of blood alcohol in tox report sus as he was found weeks later in water . Someone could have beer bonged alcohol down his throat.
None of the frat boys ran after him ? RS couldn’t have gotten too far from bar . His pants boots and wallet are somewhere.
Plus talked to a cop and others so not that drunk ?
Did tox report look for Rohipnol or GBH ? Ask people who’ve been hit with that stuff .

He was in Garths bar at 7:15 when he text that to his mom. His cc receipt shows he ordered 2 Smoke and Coke drinks...THAT is why he tasted a BBQ flavor. His friends called him 5 times in a 2 minute window after he left, to see where he was. He told them he was almost back at their hotel. He walked like a mile away from the bar when he accidentally fell in and drown. Police Dash cam captured him at 9:55 under the EXACT bridge where his phone last pinged, where his debit card was found, and where they believe he went into the water. Tragic accident.

I kinda have this embarrassing story that I think could be a possibility that happen to Riley. In my teen years I moved into a town of population 800. I was out drinking, was walking home, and had to pee. I had my back to the street and was peeing towards the river. I feel on the rock and was flipping & rolling all the way down these large rocks. I hit the water & as I was trying to swim back my shoes & pants were pulling me down. Especially the pants because the pockets were filling with water like backwards parachutes. No doubt if I would not have gotten those shoes & pants off I wouldn't of made it out of that water. Thank God my life flip phone fell on the rocks as I fell.

I think everyone should want the truth no matter what that truth is.
It is easy to want there to be some sort of nefarious villain because that might somehow give closure more so than just realizing there was a series of unfortunate events that led up to a situation.
Personally, I feel that the amount of suspicion and speculation does largely stem from how the situation was handled by local law enforcement from the beginning. They were so quick to say "no foul play," before anybody even had any facts. The desire to protect Nashville from being viewed as an unsafe place actually made Nashville seem far less safe. How it was handled made it feel like if something happened to me in nashville, law enforcement might not do their due diligence to get Justice because they're so busy trying to protect the image of the city itself.. that, in and of itself, taints the image of Nashville.
I do feel that no matter what this situation should be something that is used to improve how circumstances like this are dealt with in Nashville and possibly any other city that is similarly a tourist destination. I think they have a lot of great procedures in place to protect the employees and even the patrons while they are inside, but I do think it is incredibly negligent and irresponsible to release people into the street knowing that they are as intoxicated as Riley strain was. If the local PD knows that a lot of people end up in the river because of that, then they should be doing a lot more to prevent such circumstances from happening.
the city really needs to improve the area around the river and make it safer. As we saw, the fences and structures around the river are incredibly unsafe for circumstances such as this. Not to mention the lack of cameras under those bridges.
What I do appreciate is that they did not have a desire to use this as a chance to villainize or vilify the unhoused in Nashville. In several cities that I personally have lived in, something like this would have been used to clear those encampments out. We also don't want to pave the road to hell with good intentions. Yes, we want to make sure that people aren't just villainizing, vilifying, or committing acts of violence against the local unhoused people but we also want to make sure that we're not brushing things under the rug and potentially preventing a violent criminal from being brought to Justice.

I sometimes use an audio boost on my mobile phone, and after listening to that video where the cops address him, you can hear Riley say "woah" after passing the cop as the cop's camera turns towards the vehicle. It appears to me that he slipped and fell down the hill. But the cop never helped him. Or, the cop at that point noticed Riley had been drinking. Did he get to Riley and then strip him of his pants and shoes to check his pockets for the items stolen from the truck? I know the part about the cops taking his pants is far-fetched. But him not helping Riley seems plausible.

This is so sad, Riley had friends with him, when security escorts someone out they should really make sure the rest of the friends know that they are being escorted out or make sure they are getting into an uber, I don't go to bars anymore so I don't know the answer here, but I think discussions need to be had about trying to do better than just tossing someone out, alone, very very inebriated, this could've been prevented. I remember going out at 21, I was 105 lbs and I remember getting drunk so fast, when you're out with friends it can very much be a situation where friends are buying a round of shots or "I'm on my 3rd hurry and catch up" kind of vibe and I would try but due to being a person that didn't drink much and being small, cause I didn't eat at that time, I would just get stupid drunk very fast, usually much faster than I'd realize, I never experienced a buzz others talked about I would go from sober to wasted, no in between which is exactly why I quit drinking. I pray Riley's family finds peace and I hope this starts a conversation to find a better way to handle situations like this.

I do not see aggression coming from Riley, drunkiness, yes, but no aggression. There could've been a misunderstanding at the bar, and all the bouncer had to do was give him and the friend a warning, like hey, you need to keep yourself in check or you'll have to leave and then if he got out of hand in any way escort him out with one of his friends. Like, how many people in that bar weren't drunk like Riley? I'd guess quite a few, including some of his frat brothers! I think the bouncers made too big of a deal out of it. IMO, he shouldn't have been thrown out. If he was so aggressive, he would've been resisting the bouncer! He was so willing to leave. That's just so odd! Rest in peace, Riley. We'll never forget you! God be with his family.

I'm sure LE interviewed the staff and they explained why he was asked to leave. A bar is for adults, not children who need to be watched over. You can tell Riley has large feet and had to sidestep the stairs in order to walk down otherwise he would have toppled down. Yes he was very intoxicated on top of that. His friends were probably busy drinking and getting drunk and doing their own thing. People keep saying that Riley's friends should have taken care of him.......however would Riley have been able to 'watch' after his friends if one of them had been asked to leave and not Riley? No I don't think as drunk as he was that he would have been able to take care of anyone. Just because his friends did not become verbally aggressive with the wait staff doesn't mean they were not as intoxicated as Riley or close to it. So how were they expected to watch over Riley if everyone was drunk? People are blaming his friends and to me I don't understand this, especially since everyone was drunk. This was a tragic accident and I know his family are heartbroken but trying to find someone to place the blame on will not aid in their healing.
