Seems like such a down-to-earth chill dude absolutely loved his work in Stone sour and love the fact that he's not forgotten his roots and where he came from what a moment guys I would love to have a moment with my instructor like that much respect
Always love how Roy uses big drums and cymbals. They always sound like nice sounding canons. And hats off for appreciating your drum teacher, Roy! May the both of you continue on your drumming journey!
Roy's sticks are one of the favorites in my collection. And he's a super bad ass when it comes to answering random internet people's questions about his kit and... as he mentions, his sticks
Beautiful story of genuine friendship, a brotherhood. Thank you, Roy, for great music and inspiration. Representing Latinos.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Roy its so good to see you again man. We hung out in the 80s in the NYHC Scene. You showed me how to play "Anthem" from Agnostic Front one night in a studio uptown. Hope all is well brother. Glad to see your hard work, dedication, and discipline to music is paying off.
Very cool! I’m about 3 months into drumming- and I’m almost 55 lol. But I’m digging everything. I got a 7pc Tama SuoerStar Classic and a handful of cymbals. I really don’t know what the hell I’m doing- other than just beginning a few lessons I printed - the notes, a few starter grooves. It’s a blast. But this video was sweet. I’m learning from RUclips everyday. I even posted some confusing nonsense on my channel. As a side note I grew up with the 70’s funk, disco, rock. Then the great explosion with Slayer, Metallica, Rush, Scorpions, Maiden all of that. Great video Thanks for sharing your gear and an intimate moment with your 1st drum instructor 👍
Hay Roy, What's up man??? I'm so proud of you, I always knew you had what it takes to succeed in music... I went to Whitehall with you... Remember when we graffiti to that apartment in Berkeley Village... Good times brother, I also remember we used to switch leather jackets in class... I also liked you in Youth Quake, hit me back Steve.....
Cool Kit. Hard to go wrong with DW. And Liked the shirt - Great Band (I Am the Virus). Really cool you got to hook up with your drum teacher. That's classic.
I know Roy and his lovely wife Cazzie, and I can confirm that he is a really cool guy. He’s a beast behind that kit and I think he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves sometimes. One of the best modern and most versatile drummers out there.
LP made “Ice” Bells. Pretty sure Sabian calls their bells “Radia Cup Chimes” or something like that. Never EVER saw an 11” one like his from any maker though 😳
P.S. do you remember our music teacher Mr. Dorkisski??? I remember freaking out when he told us about his son being the drummer of the Russian Meat Squats.... I really liked that dude...😂

I loved what he did with soulfly! Great Drummer!

Roy is one of my favorite drummers of all time, I'm so glad that he is still active and that he's playing with Ministry. What a legend!
This guy has had awesome kits for years. Always cool to see what he comes up with.
that bit of emotion at the end was unbelievable. love that!
Not only a great drummer but my favorite sound man in NYC back in the 90’s. Specifically Wetlands and CBGBs. Always made the drums super crispy 🙌
I didn’t almost cry when we met his old instructor. Nope. Not even a tiny bit. 😂. Awesome.
Amazing drummer! down to earth ... really like his style and what a great t-shit too .. thx great interview...! great drum teacher... so great to see
I love that Roy found his early teacher. Life's good.

An absolute legend, been a fan since his work with Soulfly, a beast of a drummer and a very memorable performer
Same here, been a fan of his drumming since I heard him on Soulfly's first album, and saw him live on that tour.
I love the variety of musicians you have in your channel.
I love the tone of those toms. Great sounding kit.
That was both awesome & sweet! Cheers Rata!
Nice fella- great kit.
Also great to see the Killing Joke T especially with Geordie’s passing. 🙏🏻
Mucho POWER Roy!!!🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Cool kit! Great tip with a stick grips for heavy playing
Met Roy i think almost 30 years ago at Dynamo open air, took a picture with him then. Cool guy
its one thing to invite your OG teacher to your show. its a whole 'nother level to immortalize the dude on an episode of modern drummer. love this!
Been a fan of is since the Soulfly days, great drummer with a superb attitude
Bello/Magnifico.🙏✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️👑

Roy always has some of the coolest kits.
Love these Tour Kit Rundown videos! Hope to see Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger) and Deen Castronovo (Journey) on here.
Learned about Ray when he was in Soulfly, followed him throughout the years and I think it’s sick that he’s in ministry now. Great interview!
that was beautiful. live it love it!
FUCKING LOVE MR. BRUFORD! Would not think youd appreciate him or King Crimson! Newfound extra respect!
You never know how much a little of your time can influence someone's future. Pour into people. You never know where they'll go.
I know Roy and his lovely wife Cazzie, and I can confirm that he is a really cool guy. He’s a beast behind that kit and I think he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves sometimes. One of the best modern and most versatile drummers out there.
total respect!
This made my day! ❤
and he's now killing it with Jerry Cantrell! Total badass!
Awesome vibes.
I wish they still made the Anvil Ride.
Killer ping.
That 24 inch china would be a cool production model, I'd buy those two instantly.
Hell yeah Roy!!!
Absolutely 100% Vinnie's grip ! ❤
I met Roy at a Bonzo bash event in Orange County. Super cool dude - talked drums, snare tuning etc. 💪🏼he’s a beast tho!!!
Those kick batter angles are CRAZY
One of the best right here
Você é o cara, Roy! 👊🤘
Roy Boy!!! Hello from NYC. the warthog
Never heard any of his stuff with ministry but he did some nice work with stone sour.
Happy roy survived his stroke❤
Good Stuff!
I see you with the Vinnie.Paul taco knife sticks. I recognize that carving anywhere. 😂😂😂.
Love the Killing Joke t shirt
_That's_ where I know Roy from: Soulfly. That's an interesting stick carving trick.
Yo I’ve never seen that trick with the sticks, that’s a really good idea!…🤔
That's a sweet story him reuniting with Leo.
🤘🔥🥁
That's a video you really do need to watch all the way to the ending.
That's cool that the rata toms are named after Roy. I just thought "rata" was onomatopoeia haha.
The dude himself!
Beta 52’s in the Toms!!😳👍
What happened to his Stone Sour hair? He still looks super cool though. Great drummer and great energy when he plays.
It's a bummer we don't get to hear his drumming w/ Stone Sour anymore. .
Word made flesh
👀 Is that a....16" Rack tom ?!
Vinnie Paul used to do that with his sticks!
has those beaters back ala Danny Carey
5:30 That’s a neat little solo on the rata drums. 😊 I’m sure I could do…OMG!!! 😳 😱 NVM I QUIT!! ✌️
Who needs the gym when you have Jesus Built My Hotrod to play every night 💪💪💪
Did he say zill bell
Ain’t that the ice bell from sabian? 😅
LP made “Ice” Bells. Pretty sure Sabian calls their bells “Radia Cup Chimes” or something like that.

Much drumkit for that drummer
Rack tom???
Hey, get back to Stone Sour. Soulfly needs you.
P.S. do you remember our music teacher Mr. Dorkisski??? I remember freaking out when he told us about his son being the drummer of the Russian Meat Squats.... I really liked that dude...😂
